Netflix fans 'highly recommend' crime series that beat Black Mirror in trending charts

Netflix viewers are buzzing about a new series that has outshone Black Mirror in the charts just days after its release.
The Diamond Heist, which dropped on 16th April, is a gripping three-part series centred on a daring plot to steal a diamond from a collection housed in the Millennium Dome in London back in 2000.
This audacious act has been dubbed "one of the most daring heists in British history".
The docu-series, with Guy Ritchie among its executive producers, delves into the thieves' scheme to target the collection, reportedly valued at over £350 million, and how the Metropolitan Police's Flying Squad nabbed them.
A synopsis teases: "This stranger-than-fiction crime caper follows the attempted robbery of a precious gem, told by the gangsters who did it and the police on their tail."

Just days ago, Hello! Magazine reported that the show had rocketed to the top of the UK
Netflix
charts, knocking Black Mirror off its perch.
However, WrestleMania is reigning supreme at the top of the chart for now, followed by ITV drama Black Work, featuring Sheridan Smith, reports
the Mirror
. The Diamond Heist is hot on their heels at number three on the chart, with Black Mirror rounding out the top four.
Fans have been buzzing about the documentary since its launch, flooding X with enthusiastic comments. A recent post by a viewer declared: "If you're a Guy Ritchie fan you need to watch #TheDiamondHeist on Netflix immediately."
Another offered high praise in a platform review: "What a story!! Brilliant documentary with classic [Guy Ritchie] touches. Binged all 3eps and loved every minute! Hugely entertaining and very interesting."
They added emphatically: "Highly recommend!"

"Just finished #thediamondheist. Cracking documentary," announced another satisfied viewer. Meanwhile, another commentator recommended: "Watched The Diamond Heist on Netflix last night and it was magnificent. Binge it if you can, only 3 episodes."
Sharing their excitement, someone wrote: "Just saw #TheDiamondHeist on #Netflix and yes, it is that good and proper naughty."
Another chimed in: "Thoroughly enjoyed The Diamond Heist on Netflix... Guy Ritchie really is brilliant!"
Several fans praised the docuseries as "excellent" and a "great watch" in reaction posts. One enthusiast said: "The Diamond Heist - a brilliant documentary @netflix best one in a while."
Another penned this weekend: "The Diamond Heist on Netflix, that's exactly how I love my crime documentaries."

However, The Diamond Heist has also found itself in the midst of some backlash. The choice to feature one of the offenders in the documentary sparked a debate and has been branded as "problematic," with worries that it might "glamorise" the crime.
A reviewer on IMDb pointed this out writing: "On the one hand this is quite an interesting heist with a good story to tell. On the other this is such a slick and glossy production that it ends up glamorising and sanitising the real crime and gangsters as if it's one of Guy Ritchie's dramas."
Explaining further, they added: "There is a difference between TV drama and reality after all, and I think a different production style would have helped. It also gives a lot of attention and voice to the criminals themselves, which is what they want (as they say in their own words). Almost resulting in giving the impression they were in the right or somehow entitled to do what they did."
The Diamond Heist is streaming now on Netflix.

Remembering Pitoy Moreno—The Metropolitan Museum's tribute to a fashion icon

A highlight of the evening was a special segment featuring artists who were once recipients of Moreno's scholarships at the University of the Philippines. The M invited them to create works inspired by his fashion. The artists, including Issay Rodriguez, Carlito Camahalan Amalla and Digo Acuzar presented pieces in the museum's foyer which are available for purchase in support of The M's programmes. The night culminated in a musical performance by the UP Manila Choir, whose a cappella rendition of 1970s Manila Sound classics concluded with Bongga Ka 'Day , a fitting tribute to Moreno—himself referenced in the song as a symbol of glamour. The gala celebrated not only Pitoy Moreno's extraordinary body of work and artistry but also his enduring influence on generations of designers and his commitment to elevating Philippine culture on the global stage. See also: Filipino-British actor Claire-Marie Hall on 'Operation Mincemeat' and the joy of performing 'Pitoy often said that true beauty lives not only in design, but in how we connect with one another. Through your presence, support, and stories, you've proven that true,' shared Magsaysay-Ho. The gala also launched The M Museum's new membership programme, which grants year-long complimentary access for members and their guests. Proceeds from the event will support the museum's educational initiatives, exhibitions and cultural preservation efforts, enabling the team to continue the promotion, preservation and betterment of Philippine arts and culture. The success of Remembering Pitoy was made possible through the support of institutional partners, including the Jusi & Pina Foundation, BPI, Lexus and Tatler, among others. In celebrating Moreno, The M not only honoured a national treasure, but reaffirmed its role as a guardian of Philippine heritage—fashioned not just from fabric, but from memory, meaning and shared identity. His legacy is not only stitched into the gowns he created but also tightly woven into the many lives he touched and the causes he championed.
