Former Texas A&M guard has thrived in the summer league with San Antonio

Under former Texas A&M head basketball coach Buzz Williams, one of the best one-year rentals quickly became a favorite among the Aggie fan base, as Dexter Dennis made an immediate impact during the 2023 season, helping lead the Aggies to the NCAA Tournament as a 7-seed before falling to Penn State.
While his college career ended with an early loss in the Big Dance, it was expected that Dennis would have a legitimate shot at the NBA, even though he wasn't considered a top prospect. After four seasons with Wichita State and one with the Aggies, the Louisiana native brought a ton of experience to the table.
After going undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft, Dennis signed with the Dallas Mavericks on a two-way contract, spending time with the Mavericks' G League team, the Texas Legends, after being waived by the Mavericks in late December.
During the 2024 season, Dennis was acquired by the Cleveland Charge in exchange for the rights to Fabian White and a 2024 first-round pick, but later signed with the Sacramento Kings on September 25, 2024, and was soon waived, leading to his current team, the King's G-League affiliate, the Stockton Kings.
Last spring, Dennis delivered one of his best performances during his stint with the Kings, who won the G League title. He scored 23 points off the bench to help the Kings defeat the Osceola Magic 118-110 in the third game of the series.
This summer, Dennis is currently participating in the Summer League with the San Antonio Spurs, scoring 10 points, including a 3-pointer and making all three free throws in Sunday's 90-88 win over the Golden State Warriors. Dennis will continue to grind this summer and will face another former one-year Aggie guard, Zhuric Phelps, when the Spurs take on the Mavericks on July 12.
Dexter Dennis, Zhuric Phelps, and Texas A&M's all-time leading scorer, guard Wade Taylor IV, represent the Aggies this summer on the court. Taylor signed with the Milwaukee Bucks this offseason.

Spartans wide receiver Nick Marsh named to Phil Steele All-Big Ten team

One of the Spartans' wide receivers has been named to a popular preseason All-Big Ten list. Phil Steele is back again this year with his preview content for the upcoming college football season, which includes his All-Big Ten teams. Steele has put together four All-Big Ten teams, and Spartans wide receiver Nick Marsh cracked the list. Steele has Marsh on the All-Big Ten fourth team along with DT Sheffield of Rutgers and Ja'Kobi Lane of USC. Marsh -- who has a four-star prospect in the 2024 class -- had a pretty solid freshman season this past year, recording 41 receptions for 649 yards and three touchdowns. He was especially important in two of the Spartans' top wins against Maryland and Iowa as well last season. Marsh is expected to have a big year for the Spartans this upcoming season, so it's not surprising to see him included on Steele's list of top wide receivers from the Big Ten. I personally would have him on one of the higher teams, but also understand he needs to prove it first -- I'm sure he will this upcoming fall. Watch Utah's Brice Sensabaugh go off for 37 in Summer League, Ace Bailey looks better in second outing

One of the "rules" for Summer League is this: If a player got regular run during the NBA season, they should dominate in Summer League. Their game should have risen to the point that they were above this level of summer run. Case in point: Utah's Brice Sensabaugh. The former Ohio State forward played 71 games for the Jazz last season, and on Monday night went out and dropped 37 in Utah's win over Memphis in the Salt Lake Summer League. Also of note from that game: Utah's No. 5 pick Ace Bailey looked much more comfortable after a rough first outing. What rookies do in Summer League is more of a measuring stick than anything else, but a good sign is a player who learns and improves over the course of those games. Bailey did that between his first two Summer League games.
