More Hong Kong success for Ceci Lee, but coach downplays feats ahead of China Championships
Hervé Dagorne said he was reading nothing into Ceci Lee Sze-wing's twin triumph on Friday at the Hong Kong Track Championships. Hong Kong's best rider ruthlessly dominated a five-woman field to win the four-discipline omnium by a mammoth 29 points from nearest challenger Guardiola Cheung Li-tong. The 24-year-old Lee was similarly authoritative in claiming elimination race gold from second-placed Boey Leung Bo-yee. 'There was such a big gap in level after her, and it was a very small group,' Dagorne said. 'The pace was slow and we cannot analyse anything from it.' Chu Tsun-wai, who will turn 24 next Wednesday, pipped Tso Kai-kwong to victory in a stacked 23-rider men's omnium. He returned to finish sixth in an elimination race where top honours were claimed by Ng Pak-hang, who added to the Hong Kong International Track Cup scratch race gold he won in April. 'The men's races were very competitive, there were points available for National Games selection and Chu performed strongly,' Dagorne said.
