It All Started With a Bad Joke
It all began when Nmplol (real name Nick Polom) was livestreaming and made a pretty dark joke about the Texas floods. While talking to another streamer, he casually said something along the lines of:
"They don't have much to live for anyway… every job's going to be AI, there's no future."
The joke was clearly in poor taste, but it didn't stop there.
Donut Operator Fires Back
Cody "Donut Operator" Garrett, who had reportedly been on the ground helping search for victims, wasn't amused.
He responded on X (formerly Twitter) with a slur-laced post aimed directly at Nmplol:
"We were in the mud looking for bodies all day. Great joke, fa**ot @nmplol."
This response immediately sparked a firestorm. While some supported Donut's frustration, others were shocked at his use of a homophobic slur in 2025.
Nick Responds… In a Dress?
Nmplol chose to respond sarcastically, posting a photo of himself in a dress and captioning it:
"Joke went too far! My bad! Some hit some miss!"

Behind the scenes, things got even messier. Screenshots from Nmplol's Discord server revealed that he had cancelled an upcoming shooting range meetup with Donut and vented about the situation:
"Calling a 35-year-old man the F slur in 2025 is wild. I feel like it's high school."
He also mentioned being harassed by Donut's fans, saying they were calling him slurs and urging him to hurt himself.
Donut Doubles Down
Donut Operator wasn't done. He posted a photo of a child's shoe taken from the flood site and tagged OTK, Nmplol's streamer group, accusing them of supporting someone who made jokes about a tragedy.

Nmplol's Apology (Sort of)
Eventually, Nick issued a public apology, stating:
"Sorry guys, joke went too far. I wasn't fully aware of the situation. It's tragic. I'll be more mindful going forward."
But Donut didn't buy it. He posted alleged private Discord messages from Nick that read:
'I apologize for nothing. Anyone upset is a pu**y with no friends.'
Donut claimed the apology was only posted because he had publicly 'called his b**ch a** out.'
