Sangareddy collector P Pravinya announced on Monday (July 7, 2025) that ₹12 crore was released from District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) funds to Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) towards construction of Indiramma Houses by the members. Govt assistance in four instalments The State government is providing financial assistance of ₹5 lakh to each beneficiary of Indiramma Housing Scheme to construct the houses in 400 to 600 sq. ft. The amount is released in four instalments; ₹1 lakh after completion of foundation, ₹1.75 lakh on laying slab, ₹1.75 lakh upon wall construction and the last instalment of ₹1 lakh after construction of the house is completed. The State government releases the funds on every Monday after receiving confirmation, including a photo, of various stages of the construction. However, several beneficiaries have struggled to gather money for the construction in the initial or other stages. The beneficiaries are from poor and underprivileged sections. The loans would be given to the members of the SHGs, selected as a beneficiary of the scheme, from the ₹12 crore, according to the district officials. This would be helpful in the construction, said project director of Housing Chalapathi Rao. A total of 16,559 houses were allotted to the district. Of them, 14,529 were sanctioned. Till now, basement of 692 houses were constructed and the ₹1 lakh first installment was released to 532 beneficiaries, according to a press release issued on Monday (July 7, 2025).

TGHB rakes in Rs 65 crore from plot, flat auctions
HYDERABAD: The Telangana Housing Board (TGHB) has netted Rs 65.02 crore through the auction of open plots and flats in Gachibowli, Chintal and Nizampet. An open plot measuring 1,487 sq. yds in Gachibowli fetched Rs 33.01 crore, with the bidding soaring to Rs 2.22 lakh per nearly double the upset price of Rs 1.20 lakh, setting a new benchmark in price per square yard. Another plot in the same area, measuring 1,206 was auctioned for Rs 13.51 crore against the upset price of Rs 80,000 per ultimately selling for Rs 1.12 lakh per The TGHB auctioned a total of 14 open plots (3,271 across Gachibowli and Chintal and eight flats in Nizampet, under the jurisdiction of the north division of TGHB. The auction was conducted at the community hall in KPHB Colony (Phase I & II). All four plots in Gachibowli were auctioned, while only three out of 10 plots in Chintal and four out of eight flats in Nizampet made the cut. According to officials, approximately Rs 56 crore was raised from the Gachibowli plots alone. The remaining Rs 9 crore came from Chintal and Nizampet sales. In total, 53 applications were received, and the auction was conducted smoothly and transparently under TGHB supervision.
