CEER, Saudi Arabia's first electric vehicle (EV) brand and original equipment manufacturer (OEM), marked its presence at the Human Capability Initiative (HCI) Forum with a significant milestone on its journey to building the automotive industry in the Kingdom: reaching 1,500 employees.
This achievement underscores CEER's commitment to attracting world-class local and international talent across a wide range of EV specialties to develop an unparalleled in-house skillset, and it highlights the company's dedication to developing human capability as a key driver of innovation and growth, a commitment CEER, as a strategic sponsor of the HCI Forum, is proud to showcase.
CEER has successfully recruited experts from 45 nationalities, bringing together a diverse and highly specialised workforce of international and home-grown expertise. This unique concentration of global talent aims to establish CEER as a leader in EV innovation and development.
The company's growth trajectory is also contributing to boosting the Saudi economy with the plan of creating 6,500 direct jobs and an additional 23,000 indirect and induced jobs.
CEER's CEO, James DeLuca, said: 'Reaching 1,500 employees is a powerful reflection of our commitment to building a world-class team as we shape the future of the EV industry. CEER's commitment is reinforced by steadfast government support, including partnerships with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, and the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services. Initiatives like the National Automotive & Vehicles Academy (NAVA), with an initial enrollment of 100 students, and the Waa'id Program, which provides specialized training and educational opportunities for 43 Saudi engineers and technicians, demonstrate this dedication. These diverse collaborations are key drivers of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, fostering local expertise and a workforce of future industry leaders.
CEER is building the automotive industry in Saudi Arabia by establishing a vital university-to-industry pipeline through strategic collaborations with the Kingdom's leading universities and technical colleges, alongside key partnerships with global partners providing Saudi talent with access to the latest advancements and knowledge translating classroom study to real-world applications.

Saudi Arabia's National Airline Confirms October Start For Direct Moscow Flights
Saudi Arabia's national carrier Saudia will start non-stop flights between Riyadh and Moscow from October1, in a move to capitalise on the sharp rise in Saudi tourism to Russia. The new service will offer three weekly flights. The announcement comes amid what officials described as an unprecedented surge in Saudi arrivals to Russia, driven largely by Moscow's rollout of a streamlined electronic visa system in August 2023. According to Russian government data, 52,400 Saudi citizens visited the country in 2024, a more than 570% increase from just 9,300 the previous year. That momentum has continued into 2025. In the first six months of the year, Moscow welcomed over 9,900 Saudi visitors, marking a 50% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Russian authorities have credited the spike to the e-visa programme, which allows Saudi passport holders to apply for travel authorisation online. The introduction of direct flights by Saudia is expected to bolster that growth further, offering both convenience and connectivity at a time of deepening cultural and economic engagement between the two nations.

Cristiano's Kingdom
TDT | Manama Ronaldo Signs Football's Most Powerful Deal Announced last week, Cristiano Ronaldo's new contract with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr is a record-breaking feat never seen before in the sport. The two-year extension delivers staggering numbers and unprecedented influence for a player reshaping the business of football. The headline figure: €185 million a year (BD75.3 million) or around €15 million monthly (BD6.1 million), €3.8 million weekly (BD1.55 million), and €550,000 per day (BD224,000). It confirms Ronaldo once again as the world's highest-paid footballer. But the deal extends far beyond salary. Ownership and Influence Ronaldo's contract includes a minority ownership stake in Al Nassr, reportedly worth €38 million (BD15.5 million). This long-term equity ties him directly to the club's future and solidifies his role off the pitch. He will also have input on player recruitment, which is an almost unheard-of level of authority for an active player. Farwell Hints to Future Plans Speculation flared after Ronaldo posted 'This chapter is over. The story? Still being written' following Al Nassr's final league game. Some saw it as a farewell, with reports linking him to Club World Cup suitors. Instead, he's doubled down, remaining at the club while stepping deeper into its core footballing decisions. The Long Game Ronaldo has scored 93 goals in 105 matches since joining, but a major trophy has eluded him. This contract is built to change that, with massive performance bonuses: He'll also earn €93,000 (BD37,800) per goal and €46,000 (BD18,700) per assist—both rising 20% in the contract's second year. At 39, Ronaldo still sets his sights high. While the 1,000-goal milestone may remain out of reach, his numbers and ambition remain elite. Saudi Football's Statement Ronaldo's extended presence signals a continued push for global relevance in Saudi football. For Al Nassr, his commercial magnetism and influence in sporting decisions elevate their standing on and off the field. As he said at the Globe Soccer Awards: 'Maybe the owner of the club. If I will be the owner, I will make things clear.' That moment feels less hypothetical now.

There's a new Monopoly board coming to market – and it's got all the happening places in Riyadh, the Saudi metropolis. The 'Riyadh Monopoly' will be up at stores in September after being announced on June 26 at the King Abdullah Financial District Conference Centre. The board is 'designed to reflect Riyadh's rich culture, notable landmarks and dynamic spirit'. Riyadh is going through a major transformation, including the creation of a swanky Downtown. In late 2019, the Dubai version of the Monopoly board was launched. (Monopoly is owned by the toy company Hasbro.) 'Riyadh Monopoly reflects our goal of making big, strategic projects accessible and engaging to all ages,' Mazroua Al-Mazroua, Chief Marketing and Experience Officer, at King Abdullah Financial District Development and Management Company. 'As the leading destination for international and local businesses in Saudi Arabia, we are creating new opportunities for the next generation to thrive. 'We want the new generation to recognize the names and places shaping their future. What better way than through play?' Over half of Riyadh's residents are under 20 years. 'Riyadh Monopoly is crafted to unite generations in friendly rivalry, whether strategizing over historic streets or modern skyscrapers,' said a statement. The Monopoly board game has been in existence for 90 years and has sold over 275 million. It has the Guinness World Record as the 'best-selling board game in history'. 'In a celebration of iconic landmarks and modern identity, the Riyadh Monopoly board itself is a cultural artefact,' said Sharif Hamad bin Majed Alowaishiq, Founder & Chairman of Saudi Youth Society. And the new board is about 'mapping the capital's evolution from historic quarters to striking skyscrapers, world-class districts, and new urban infrastructure and facilities'.
