‘The Parenting' Review: Meet the Poltergeist
The boys have secured this spacious if malevolent abode as an occasion to introduce each other to their parents, who are played by television royalty: Lisa Kudrow, Dean Norris, Edie Falco and Brian Cox. Some early water-and-oil mingling feels like a tepid riff on 'Meet the Parents,' but when the demonic intrigue ramps up, the tone shifts to full-blown slapstick lunacy, with heads spinning 'Exorcist'-style, family members projectile vomiting, and in a meanspirited fashion, more than one Pomeranian getting brutally butchered. The cast is game — especially Cox, who gets to do some over-the-top Linda Blair mugging — but the script, by a 'Saturday Night Live' writer, Kent Sublette, is puerile and abrasive, lacking the wit of 'Evil Dead' (an obvious influence) and the brio of 'Scary Movie.'

Max never leaves her side, following her from room to room. She wrote in a comment: "...Today, I was bathing the girls, and he sat by the tub until I was done." Despite Max coming out of his shell in the few weeks he's been home, the shyness never fully wore off. He's embraced the calm dog persona. The owner told viewers that he'll have zoomies occasionally, but otherwise, he's been nothing but a "chill" and "sweetest" pup. Like this family, TikTok users also fell in love with Max, and as of Monday, the video reached over 828,400 views and 187,800 likes. "That's not a shy dog, that's your shy SON," joked one person. Someone else commented: "He saw your babies and decided he needed to join your crew; it was his decision, not yours." Another said: "I cannot get over how gentle the kiddos were with him omg.
