Over four decades in cinema, and yet there are roles that even legends hesitate to revisit. Sanjay Dutt—known for his acting skills, his stardom, and his layered legacy—recently recalled one such role that left even him disturbed.
From his debut in Rocky (1981) to his reign in the '80s and '90s as a bonafide superstar, Dutt has worn many faces on screen—romantic hero, action star, and in recent years, menacing antagonist. As time evolved, so did his on-screen persona. Now, Sanju Baba often embraces complex supporting and negative roles. But among them, one stands out in his memory for all the right and wrong reasons. Sanjay Dutt's most challenging film was…
It was during a television show when host Saumya Tandon asked him which film he found the most challenging. Without hesitation, Dutt replied, 'Ek toh mere liye Naam thi (1986) aur ek Agneepath (2012).'
Talking about Agneepath, Dutt recalled how portraying the villainous 'Kaancha Cheena' deeply unsettled him. He said, 'Agneepath ka jo mera kirdaar tha, main basically waisa aadmi nahi hoon. Hrithik Roshan mere chhote bhai jaisa hai. Usko chaku maarna tha, ghaseetna tha. Jab main dubbing kar raha tha, main apne aap ko dekh ke dar gaya tha.'
That fear, he admitted, came from how far removed the character was from his real self.
Released in 2012, Agneepath was a remake of the 1990 cult film starring Amitabh Bachchan. Directed by Karan Malhotra, the film featured Hrithik Roshan as Vijay Deenanath Chauhan and Priyanka Chopra as Kali Gawde. Dutt's transformation into the bald, cold-blooded crime lord Kaancha Cheena was both terrifying and iconic. His performance was met with acclaim, proving that he could be just as unforgettable in darkness as he was in glory.
Interestingly, it wasn't the only role that tested him. Dutt also listed Naam (1986), an emotional rollercoaster of a film, as one of the most difficult projects of his career.
Despite the discomfort it caused him, Agneepath became a roaring success. The film grossed over Rs 190 crore worldwide and solidified Dutt's place as one of Bollywood's most versatile actors, even when playing a monster that scared him.

'Mera Jee Jala…': When Nawazuddin Siddiqui bought his daughter a Rs 2.5 Lakh Bag, Despite Calling It a Waste of Money

Nawazuddin Siddiqui, known for his grounded nature, recently shared an amusing anecdote about his daughter's expensive taste. He recounted a shopping trip in Dubai where his daughter picked out a handbag costing a staggering Rs 2.5 lakh, leaving him surprised. Despite his reservations about the extravagance, Nawazuddin, like a doting father, ultimately purchased the bag for her. In an industry known for its glitz and glamour, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has always stood apart — not just for his stellar performances, but also for his grounded, no-frills personality. Known for his humble beginnings and candid honesty, Nawazuddin recently shared a moment that struck a chord with many parents navigating the generational divide between simplicity and luxury. In a candid interaction with Curly Tales, the Sacred Games actor spoke about a personal incident involving his daughter that left him both amused and exasperated. 'My daughter Shora lives in DUbai. One day, she told me she wanted to buy a bag. I thought — how expensive could it be? Maybe Rs 15,000–Rs 20,000. These days, everything is expensive,' Nawaz recounted. But what followed was a classic generational clash of expectations. The actor, who comes from modest beginnings in a small Uttar Pradesh village, accompanied his daughter to a mall in Dubai. Inside a luxury store, she picked up a bag of her choice. 'I was okay till then. But when I asked for the price — it was Rs 2.5 lakh. Mera itna jee jala…,' Nawaz said with a wry smile. For Nawazuddin, who grew up in a time and environment where bags ranging from Rs 500- Rs 600 to Rs 2000-Rs 300 the idea of spending a quarter of a million rupees on a handbag felt like an unimaginable extravagance. Yet, like many doting fathers, he gave in. 'It's a waste of money, actually. But I bought it for her,' he admitted. Nawaz would be next seen in Dinesh Vijan backed Thama which will see him crossing swords with Ayushmann Khurrana , Rashmika Mandanna and Paresh Rawal . The film is slated to hit the theaters on Diwali and would be in all possibility clashing with Kartik Aaryan 's yet to be titled film with Sreeleela- directed by Anurag Basu .
