'Main waisa nahi hoon…', This actor was scared by his own role after watching himself in this Rs 190 crore film; his name is…, movie was…

Over four decades in cinema, and yet there are roles that even legends hesitate to revisit. Sanjay Dutt—known for his acting skills, his stardom, and his layered legacy—recently recalled one such role that left even him disturbed. From his debut in Rocky (1981) to his reign in the '80s and '90s as a bonafide superstar, Dutt has worn many faces on screen—romantic hero, action star, and in recent years, menacing antagonist. As time evolved, so did his on-screen persona. Now, Sanju Baba often embraces complex supporting and negative roles. But among them, one stands out in his memory for all the right and wrong reasons. Sanjay Dutt's most challenging film was… It was during a television show when host Saumya Tandon asked him which film he found the most challenging. Without hesitation, Dutt replied, 'Ek toh mere liye Naam thi (1986) aur ek Agneepath (2012).' Talking about Agneepath, Dutt recalled how portraying the villainous 'Kaancha Cheena' deeply unsettled him. He said, 'Agneepath ka jo mera kirdaar tha, main basically waisa aadmi nahi hoon. Hrithik Roshan mere chhote bhai jaisa hai. Usko chaku maarna tha, ghaseetna tha. Jab main dubbing kar raha tha, main apne aap ko dekh ke dar gaya tha.' That fear, he admitted, came from how far removed the character was from his real self. Released in 2012, Agneepath was a remake of the 1990 cult film starring Amitabh Bachchan. Directed by Karan Malhotra, the film featured Hrithik Roshan as Vijay Deenanath Chauhan and Priyanka Chopra as Kali Gawde. Dutt's transformation into the bald, cold-blooded crime lord Kaancha Cheena was both terrifying and iconic. His performance was met with acclaim, proving that he could be just as unforgettable in darkness as he was in glory. Interestingly, it wasn't the only role that tested him. Dutt also listed Naam (1986), an emotional rollercoaster of a film, as one of the most difficult projects of his career. Despite the discomfort it caused him, Agneepath became a roaring success. The film grossed over Rs 190 crore worldwide and solidified Dutt's place as one of Bollywood's most versatile actors, even when playing a monster that scared him.

Audiences destroyed theatres after watching Agneepath; Amitabh Bachchan had to solve the issue overnight: Abhishek Bachchan recalls

Amitabh Bachchan took a long hiatus from the movies in the 1980s after he started his journey in politics. However, his stint in politics was terminated midway, but he discovered that the film industry had evolved tremendously, and wasn't ready to take big bets on him. It was during this phase that Bachchan appeared in Mukul Anand's film Agneepath, where he played the role of a man who chooses the path of crime to avenge his family's honour. While playing Vijay Deenanath Chauhan, Amitabh tried something new; he decided to dub his character in a distinct voice, but the audience wasn't having it. In a new interview, his son, Abhishek Bachchan, recalled that Amitabh had to redub the entire film in one night after the release, because the audience outright rejected his experiment. In a chat with India Today, Abhishek said, 'I remember sitting with my father watching him re-dub Agneepath in one night.' Abhishek said that 'when the film released, they started getting reports that people were breaking the sound systems at the theatres because they said, 'What happened to Amitabh Bachchan's voice?' They thought the speakers were off.' Amitabh is known for his baritone, and so, it was probably difficult for them to accept a new voice. In fact, the early reviews of the film, including that of trade analyst Komal Nahta, also criticised Bachchan's voice. And Saturday, 8 am, he walked out of there. Mukul Anand took those cans for mixing and by Saturday night, they were sending those prints everywhere with the new voice,' he recalled. Sarkar Ko Bolo': Amitabh Bachchan's Savage Reply To Troll Over Cybercrime Caller Tune Goes Viral

Mumbai: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is an avid social media user. With his posts on X (Formerly Twitter) and his blogs on Tumblr, the 'Agneepath' star tries his best to connect with his fans virtually on a regular basis. He also does not hesitate to respond to trolls savagely. On Monday, one social media user criticised the cybercrime awareness caller tune featuring his voice. That tweet did not go unnoticed as Big B gave a befitting reply. The veteran actor shared a random post that read, "Ji haan huzoor, main bhi ek prashansak hoon. Toh?? (Yes, sir, I'm a fan too. So??)." A netizen replied to the post and wrote, "Toh phone pe bolna band kro bhay (So stop saying it on the phone)." Amitabh Bachchan responded, "Sarkar ko bolo bhai, unhone jo kaha humne kar diya (Tell the government, I did what they told me to do)." Another user attacked Big B over his age, "Buddha sathiya gaya (He has gone senile)." To this, the actor replied, "Ek din bhagwan na karein who jaldi aaye, ap bhi sathiya jaayenge. Parantu humarein yaha kahawat hai - jo satha, who patha (God forbid it comes soon - you will grow senile. But we have a saying here: 'The older, the wiser)." Meanwhile, on the work front, Amitabh Bachchan was last seen with superstar Rajinikanth in 'Vettaiyan', which hit theatres last year. In the film, Big B also shared screen space with Fahadh Faasil and Rana Daggubati. His future projects include the remake of The Intern with actor Deepika Padukone.
