Ramchander Rao mourns death of legendary actress B Saroja Devi
In a statement on Monday, Rao said, 'The news of the death of B. Saroja Devi, who won the hearts of millions with her excellent acting and extraordinary performances in the Telugu film industry and other South Indian languages, is deeply saddening. I express my heartfelt condolences.'
Saroja Devi, widely celebrated as 'Abhinaya Saraswati', acted alongside stalwarts like N.T. Rama Rao (NTR), Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), M.G. Ramachandran (MGR), and Sivaji Ganesan, carving a unique identity for herself over a career that spanned more than four decades. She acted in over 200 films, leaving a lasting impact on Telugu and South Indian cinema.
Rao highlighted her iconic roles in films such as Kitturu Rani Chennamma, Bhukailas, and Sri Krishnarjuna Yuddha, which remain etched in the memory of audiences. He noted that it is a matter of pride for the nation that the Government of India honored her with the Padma Shri (1969) and Padma Bhushan (1992) in recognition of her contribution to Indian cinema.
'I pray that her soul rests in peace and offer my condolences to her family and fans during this time of grief,' Rao said.

He also alleged that EPS had 'mortgaged AIADMK' with BJP leader Amit Shah out of selfishness and in order to protect his family members from raid. 'People are not deceived. Only you have been hoodwinked by believing the BJP. You have mortgaged the AIADMK itself with Amit Shah out of your selfishness and in order to save your family members from raid.' Stalin did not elaborate on what he meant by 'raid,' and also, did not specify any specific government agency.

New Delhi: A day after taking a contrarian view on the Election Commission 's Special Intensive Revision (SIR), NDA's key ally Telugu Desam Party delinked its objections from the ongoing SIR exercise in Bihar while underlining that a voter should not be made to run around for inclusion in electoral rolls. TDP, which provides crucial support to the BJP-led NDA with its 16 members of Parliament, followed a nuanced strategy on SIR. While it clearly took a pro-people approach, it has delicately tried to balance coalition dharma indicating that it isn't going to upset the alliance dynamics yet. The timing of the nuanced strategy is also important as this comes right ahead of the monsoon session of Parliament.
