Jake Paul faces unusual call out from former boxing champion
The former boxing champion known as Butterbean announced on Sunday he was back for "one more fight" as part of a campaign with Lucky Energy, and he called out Jake Paul.
Butterbean, whose real name is Eric Esch, is 58 years old, but that didn't appear to be a problem in the ad he was in. The clip showed the former boxer get up from his wheelchair to call out Paul.
"There's only one fighter out there who wants to fight retired bald guys. Jake Paul, I'm coming for you," he said in the commercial posted to Instagram. "… I want to fight Jake Paul because he runs his damn mouth too much."
The commercial also took a shot at the Paul brothers' energy drink, Prime, which is a major sponsor in WWE as Logan Paul competes as a wrestler there.
Butterbean, 58, was the IBA world super heavyweight champion during his career and won the Elite-1 MMA super heavyweight championship when he tried his hand at mixed martial arts. He was 77-10 as a boxer and 17-10 as an MMA fighter.
After he hung up the gloves, Butterbean dealt with chronic pain that hampered his mobility and put him in a wheelchair for about nine years. He worked with WWE legend "Diamond" Dallas Page's yoga program to regain his ability to stand up and walk.
Paul has taken the boxing world by storm since he began his foray into the sport. He defeated Julio Cesar Chavez via unanimous decision. It was his first bout since the spectacle with Mike Tyson.

EA Sports announces NCAA Basketball series return
Just days before its second college football title release in over a decade, EA Sports just announced it's getting back into the college basketball world too. The successful return of the NCAA College Football franchise, now called EA Sports College Football, prompted calls from the sports video gaming community to bring back the college hoops franchise. However, fans of both franchises knew that the last NCAA March Madness title sold just over 150,000 units, compared to 1.5 million copies of NCAA Football 14 being sold. Blake Griffin was the last cover athlete for the series, which died in 2010. Advertisement A lot has changed in the basketball video game space since then, though. EA Sports lost the NBA title war to 2K, largely due to the innovations made to the MyPlayer mode and online play, only for the victor to grow stale and leave fans wanting more. The plague of micro-transactions that has taken over the sports video game genre has also hurt the NBA 2K series. Ironically enough, EA Sports, which is known for abusing micro-transactions in most sports games under its label, got a pass from the community despite implementing the same pay-to-win system in its Ultimate Team mode. That's because the outcry for a return of the beloved franchise mode silenced most of the critics. If everyone is happy, no one is complaining. There isn't the same nostalgic affinity for the March Madness series, but college basketball fans are going to check out the game regardless. Whether it has the same longevity as the newly revitalized football series remains to be seen. Cobra Kai's Alicia Hannah-Kim speaks out for first time after Martin Kove biting ‘attack'
Cobra Kai actor Alicia Hannah-Kim has spoken out for the first time after being bitten by co-star Martin Kove at the 2025 Summer Con fan convention in Washington earlier this month. The Australian actor, 37, who joined Netflix's The Karate Kid spinoff series in season five as antagonist-turned-anti-hero Kim Da-Eun, addressed the 'serious incident' in an Instagram video posted Sunday. Thanking everyone who's 'reached out' and shared their support, Hanna-Kim said: 'I know that there's a lot going on in the world right now so I'm going to keep this brief. 'I was really enjoying my time at Summer Con. I love meeting you guys in real life. Thank you to Taylor, who was my handler and took care of me all weekend. 'But as you can see, this was a serious incident,' she continued. 'No one wants to be attacked at work, or anywhere, really. And I don't think anybody would think this is normal or warranted or acceptable.' Reminding others that 'when you are confronted with something like this, it's good to stand up for yourself. It's an important choice to make. I think it's the good choice to make.' Hanna-Kim clarified that the incident 'does not represent my experience with the show at large.' 'I think everybody can tell that it's a really good vibe and a great cast, and everybody else is delightful,' she insisted. 'So, I don't want this to affect your love for this show, and you know, feel free to love on it as hard as you want.' Explaining that the point of her video was to 'clear [things] up and move on,' she reminded everyone to 'stay safe out there.' The Independent has contacted Kove's representatives for comment. Kove, who reprises his Karate Kid antagonist John Kreese in Cobra Kai, was asked to leave the fan meet-and-greet early after he grabbed Hannah-Kim's arm and bit her so hard he 'nearly drew blood,' according to a police report. When Hannah-Kim cried out in pain, Kove reportedly kissed her arm where he had bitten it. Hannah-Kim left and returned with her husband Sebastian Roche, who confronted Kove. 'I had visible teeth marks and immediate bruising and pain,' she said in her statement to the police. Kove then allegedly 'exploded on them, saying something to the effect of how dare they confront him, and he did not do anything wrong,' but admitted to the bite when the police approached him. He has since issued an apology, saying: 'I deeply regret and apologize for my actions regarding the incident with Alicia [Hannah-Kim], a genuinely kind and wonderful person who didn't deserve to be put in this position. 'I've always respected her and considered her a highly professional and talented co-worker on Cobra Kai,' Kove said. 'I was being playful in the moment but went too far and there is absolutely no excuse for my behavior. I regret my actions for which I take full responsibility for what I did, and again I apologize to her and her husband. I'm committed to learning from this and it will never happen again.'
