Former child star Tina Majorino spotted on rare outing in LA
Tina Majorino, now 40, looked casual in a black vest top and shorts as she strolled around Thousand Oaks - 30 years after her turn as Enola in the post-apocalyptic blockbuster.
Majorino, who is also known for her roles in Napoleon Dynamite and Grey's Anatomy completed her ensemble with a baseball cap and sneakers.
As well as Waterworld, Majorino starred in a string of films in the 1990s including Andre, When A Man Loves A Woman, and Corrina, Corrina.
While the 1995 film was a box office disappointment, the actress previously said she has nothing but fond memories of working with Costner.
She said: 'No matter how crazy everything off the set became, he showed up to work every day just wanting to do the best work possible.'
Majorino continued: 'He loves doing this just for the sake of doing it, and every time [that I've collaborated with someone] who has had that mentality, it's always been a fulfilling experience.'
She portrayed Deb in 2004 cult classic Napoleon Dynamite alongside Jon Heder as the titular character and Efren Ramirez as Pedro Sanchez - which marked her return to acting after a five year hiatus.
In a 2014 interview the former child star said: 'I read Napoleon Dynamite and instantly I was like, 'I don't even care if I get it, I have to audition for this movie!
'I think I was 17 – it was the first script that I read coming out of my sabbatical – and I was like, "this is hilarious."'
She added: 'That film was a huge lesson for me in following my gut. It was pure magic and 100% reignited my love of filmmaking.'
Napoleon Dynamite tells the story of an awkward and alienated teenager who helps his new friend Pedro win the class presidency at their high school in Preston, Idaho.
The film, co-written by Jared and his wife Jerusha, was shot in just 22 days on a production budget of $400,000, before grossing over $46million worldwide and becoming a cult classic.
Napoleon Dynamite premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2004 and was bought by Fox Searchlight Pictures, which joined forces with MTV and Paramount Pictures to distribute the film.
The film enjoyed a limited release that June, before its widespread release in August.
Majorino's television credits include Grey's Anatomy, Scorpion, True Blood, Big Love, Bones, Veronica Mars, and Legends.

Loved-up ex-NBA star Patrick Beverley proposes to his stunning model girlfriend on romantic vacation
Ex-NBA star Patrick Beverley has announced his engagement to model girlfriend Mandana Bolourchi after popping the question in a romantic setting while on vacation together. Beverley, 37, shared pictures of his proposal on Instagram over the weekend, having got down on one knee in between two bouquets of roses on a balcony covered in red petals, which overlooked a stunning marina in the background. The point guard, who played for the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers amongst other teams during his 12-year NBA career, is seen putting an engagement ring onto Bolourchi's hand and enjoying a glass of champagne with his new fiancee in the photo dump. 'Forever...' he wrote as the caption. 'She said yes'. Beverley has dated Bolourchi, a 31-year-old fashion model, entrepreneur and influencer with over one million followers on Instagram, since 2021 after reportedly meeting in California during his stint with the Clippers. The social-media beauty was born in Iran and has also lived in Dubai, though she has resided in Los Angeles in recent years. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Patrick Beverley (@patbev21) Since leaving the NBA last year, on the back of a controversial end to his spell with the Milwaukee Bucks, Beverley most recently played in the Israeli Basketball Premier League with Hapoel Tel Aviv. Before departing Hapoel via mutual consent, he was suspended by the team for mocking his coach, Dimitris Itoudis, on social media after being benched during a championship loss in February. Beverley was also sued by two women over a heated courtside altercation that occurred towards the end of his time in Milwaukee, which saw him take his anger out after a playoff defeat to the Indiana Pacers by throwing a ball towards rival fans and hitting a woman on the side of the head. The NBA issued a four-game suspension to him over the incident, which he is yet to serve after leaving Milwaukee on the back of that defeat.

Ryan Gosling's Project Hail Mary trailer breaks record in first week after fans were stunned by his appearance
Ryan Gosling's upcoming sci-fi adventure film Project Hail Mary could have box office success in its future after its first trailer broke records online. The trailer scored an eye-popping 400 million views globally in just its first week online, according to WaveMetrix, via Deadline. The trailer's success may have been partly due to the interest in Gosling's appearance, as the 44-year-old actor looked unrecognizable in portions of the video due to his wild, unkempt beard and long, scraggly hair. According to WaveMetrix, the Project Hail Mary trailer's 400 million views represent the most ever for an original film that is not a sequel or a remake. Although WaveMetrix's figure would suggest the Project Hail Mary was a massive online success, it's unclear how views were counted for its purposes. YouTube, where the trailer was posted, requires users to have clicked on a video and to watch at least 30 seconds in total to register toward its view count. The trailer was also a milestone for Amazon MGM Studios, as it had the biggest launch ever for the studio, as well for its pre-merger entities MGM and Amazon Studios. The film is directed by the team of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who are best known for writing and directing 21 Jump Street (2012) and The Lego Movie (2014). The filmmakers both celebrated their upcoming film's hit trailer on X (formerly Twitter), and they announced that they would be joining Gosling, Project Hail Mary author Andy Weir and the film's screenwriter Drew Goddard for a panel at the San Diego Comic-Con. Gosling plays the bookish school teacher–turned–astronaut Ryland Grace in the forthcoming science-fiction film, which is adapted from Weir's 2021 novel of the same name. He looks completely different in a long haired wig and long, scruffy beard. Fans of this actor may be able to suss out his identity due to his soulful blue eyes, which give away his true identity no matter how different he looks from his everyday style. In the trailer, Ryan wakes up in this disheveled state, confused and wondering where he is. He has no memory of his past or how he ended up on the spaceship. His character states that he just woke up from a coma in outer space and is 'several light-years' away from his apartment. 'I'm not an astronaut,' he declares multiple times, as the trailer reveals the event leading up to him going to space. Ryland is a middle school teacher with a PhD in molecular biology. But his life is turned upside down when he is recruited by a space force to figure out why the stars, including the sun, are dying out. As the trailer goes on it is revealed the stars were infected with something deadly and it is Ryland's job to find out why. Ryland's mission to space is a 'Hail Mary,' last ditch effort to stop the stars from dying and save all life forms. He expresses hesitancy at being tasked to save all life, saying, 'I understand the stakes, I do. But my place is in the classroom.' He did not want to go to space but when he was told he'd die along with everyone else, he changed his mind. At the end of the trailer, Ryland declares that he's met an alien and he tries to teach it Hacky Sack and how to do a thumbs-up. It is revealed that the alien has been tasked with the same job as Ryland. He needs to figure out how to save his species. The trailer features Harry Styles' Sign of the Times as it follows Ryland's attempts to save, essentially, the universe. The film is directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller and hits theaters on March 20, 2026. The first footage of the film debuted at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. Sandra Hüller's character ominously says, 'The sun is not the only star dying. If we do nothing, everything on this planet will go extinct.' At CinemaCon, Gosling took a playful swipe at his directors, saying of Lord and Miller, 'They are only happy if they make you do the very rare and coveted laugh-cry.' 'It's an insanely ambitious story that's massive in scope, and it seemed really hard to make, and that's kind of our bag,' Gosling said about the film at CinemaCon, per Variety. After waking up on his journey in a bedraggled stage, Ryland shaves his tangled beard off and breaks down in tears at the enormity of the mission he's been tasked with. He continued: 'This is why we go to the movies. And I'm not just saying it because I'm in it. I'm also saying it because I'm a producer on the film.' Project Hail Mary also features Sandra Hüller, known for 2023's Oscar-winning foreign-language films The Zone of Interest and Anatomy of a Fall, as well as the 2016 comedy Toni Erdmann. who is best known as the director of The Cabin In the Woods and the screenwriter of hits including Coverfield, World War Z and The Martian, which may have helped prepare him for the sci-fi stylings of Project Hail Mary.
