DOJ receives Tulsi Gabbard's criminal referral alleging Obama era's 'treasonous conspiracy' to undermine Trump 2016 win
The Department of Justice has received, as per multiple reports, a criminal referral from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who alleges that the Obama administration engaged in a 'treasonous conspiracy' to undermine Donald Trump's 2016 election win. Gabbard accused former President Barack Obama and his top intelligence team — including former DNI James Clapper, CIA Director John Brennan, and FBI Director James Comey — of orchestrating a 'treasonous conspiracy.' 'Americans will finally learn the truth about how in 2016, intelligence was politicised and weaponised... to lay the groundwork for what was essentially a years-long coup against President Donald Trump,' Gabbard wrote. Gabbard's referral cites a December 9, 2016, meeting at the Obama White House, attended by Clapper, Brennan, Comey, and other top officials. According to her, Obama directed the Intelligence Community (IC) to craft a new intelligence assessment on Russian election interference. "The next day (December 9, 2016), top national security officials, including FBI Director James Comey, CIA Director John Brennan and DNI James Clapper, gathered at the Obama White House to discuss Russia. Obama directed the IC to create a new intelligence assessment that detailed Russian election meddling, even though it would contradict multiple intelligence assessments released over the previous several months," Gabbard said in her statement. Gabbard also accused Obama-era officials of orchestrating a media campaign to push the interference narrative. She claims classified details were leaked to major outlets to suggest that Russia hacked the election for Trump's benefit. 'Obama officials immediately leaned on their allies in the media to advance their falsehoods,' she stated. 'Anonymous IC sources leaked classified information... asserting Russia had intervened to hack the election in Trump's favor.' In her statement, Gabbard demanded that 'every person involved in this conspiracy' be investigated and prosecuted by the DOJ. 'No matter how powerful, every person involved in this conspiracy must be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,' she declared. 'The American people's trust in our democratic republic depends on it.' She confirmed that all supporting documents had been sent to the DOJ, adding, this is about justice — for President Trump, his family, and the American people.

SC alarmed as Russian woman leaves India with child amid custody dispute
New Delhi, July 21 (UNI) The Supreme Court today expressed deep concern after it was informed that a Russian woman, embroiled in a custody battle with her Indian husband, appears to have left India with their minor child during the ongoing legal proceedings. A bench, comprising Justices Surya Kant and Joymalya Bagchi, was apprised by Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati that, based on her IP address tracking, the woman was located in Bihar on July eight, then in Nepal, after which she travelled to the UAE and flew to Russia, reaching there on July 16. The ASG clarified that final confirmation from airlines is awaited. The Court noted with dismay that the child's Indian passport had been surrendered before it, indicating potential collusion or diplomatic involvement in facilitating the exit. 'This is absolutely not acceptable to us at any cost,' Justice Kant observed, directing the Centre to file an affidavit confirming the woman's movements. He further remarked, 'There is a gross case of contempt. A Red Corner Notice will have to be issued and diplomatic channels pursued.' The bench directed authorities to submit an updated status report within a week and re-listed the matter accordingly. Earlier, on July 17, the Court was informed that 'the Russian mother and child have vanished into wilderness.' Despite stringent directions to the Union and Delhi government authorities to trace them and ensure they did not leave India, the mother's whereabouts remained unknown. A day later, on July 18, the Centre reported that there was no record of her departure through legal channels, prompting the issuance of lookout circulars, hue and cry notices, and wireless alerts nationwide. The mother had approached the Supreme Court in an ongoing custody dispute with her Indian-origin husband over their five-year-old child, who was born in 2020. As per interim orders, both parents were residing in Delhi in separate accommodations, with custody split between them. The May 22 order granted the mother exclusive custody three days a week and the father on the remaining days. Recently, the father filed an application stating that his wife had been untraceable since July seven, after collecting their child from school. She was not reachable by phone and neither she nor the child had attended scheduled medical check-ups or school. It was also claimed that on July four, the woman was seen entering the Russian Embassy through a backdoor with a Russian diplomat, raising further concerns of diplomatic facilitation. The Court had earlier warned that if Russian Embassy officials were found to have aided in the alleged escape, 'law will take its own course'. The matter will now be taken up next week after the Centre files its affidavit confirming her travel details and outlining possible diplomatic measures to secure the return of the child to India.
