DOJ receives Tulsi Gabbard's criminal referral alleging Obama era's 'treasonous conspiracy' to undermine Trump 2016 win

Minta day ago
The Department of Justice has received, as per multiple reports, a criminal referral from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who alleges that the Obama administration engaged in a 'treasonous conspiracy' to undermine Donald Trump's 2016 election win.
Gabbard accused former President Barack Obama and his top intelligence team — including former DNI James Clapper, CIA Director John Brennan, and FBI Director James Comey — of orchestrating a 'treasonous conspiracy.'
'Americans will finally learn the truth about how in 2016, intelligence was politicised and weaponised... to lay the groundwork for what was essentially a years-long coup against President Donald Trump,' Gabbard wrote.
Gabbard's referral cites a December 9, 2016, meeting at the Obama White House, attended by Clapper, Brennan, Comey, and other top officials. According to her, Obama directed the Intelligence Community (IC) to craft a new intelligence assessment on Russian election interference.
"The next day (December 9, 2016), top national security officials, including FBI Director James Comey, CIA Director John Brennan and DNI James Clapper, gathered at the Obama White House to discuss Russia. Obama directed the IC to create a new intelligence assessment that detailed Russian election meddling, even though it would contradict multiple intelligence assessments released over the previous several months," Gabbard said in her statement.
Gabbard also accused Obama-era officials of orchestrating a media campaign to push the interference narrative. She claims classified details were leaked to major outlets to suggest that Russia hacked the election for Trump's benefit.
'Obama officials immediately leaned on their allies in the media to advance their falsehoods,' she stated. 'Anonymous IC sources leaked classified information... asserting Russia had intervened to hack the election in Trump's favor.'
In her statement, Gabbard demanded that 'every person involved in this conspiracy' be investigated and prosecuted by the DOJ.
'No matter how powerful, every person involved in this conspiracy must be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,' she declared. 'The American people's trust in our democratic republic depends on it.'
She confirmed that all supporting documents had been sent to the DOJ, adding, this is about justice — for President Trump, his family, and the American people.

Kokate refers to govt as ‘beggar', triggers new row; inappropriate, says CM as oppn pushes for ouster

Nashik: The controversy over allegedly playing rummy on his phone in the House was yet to die down and agriculture minister Manikrao Kokate sparked a new row on Tuesday by likening govt to a "beggar" while trying to clarify a remark he had made earlier about farmers. The comment prompted CM Devendra Fadnavis to dub it "inappropriate" and reignited opposition's demand for his ouster. Kokate, who represents Nashik's Sinnar assembly constituency, was questioned about his previous remark that had drawn criticism in which he had said that while even beggars do not accept Re 1 in alms, govt provides crop insurance for that amount. "Govt doesn't give Re 1 to the farmers, it takes Re 1 from them for crop insurance. So, who is the beggar here? Govt is a beggar and not the farmer. My statement was misconstrued then by the people," he said in an attempt to clarify. Kokate said he had played a key role in rejecting more than 5.3 lakh bogus applications under the Re 1 crop insurance scheme, which govt has now withdrawn and replaced with the PM crop insurance scheme. We took corrective measures in the crop insurance scheme as we saw insurance companies benefitting and not farmers," Fadnavis said in Gadchiroli. NCP (SP) MP and party's working president Supriya Sule condemned Kokate's remark, saying calling govt a "beggar" was a disastrous move. "It took the supreme sacrifice by 105 martyrs in the struggle for united Maharashtra and immense contribution by previous chief ministers and the people of the state to make Maharashtra the most prosperous state in the country. Calling the state a 'beggar' is an insult to them," she said in a post. Alleging that there has never been a more insensitive agriculture minister, she demanded the portfolio be given to someone who would treat farmers well.

‘Obama tried coup': Trump slams ex-US president; dodges Epstein question

. US president Donald Trump on Tuesday accused former president Barack Obama of leading a coup against him in 2016. While hosting Philippine president Ferdinand Marcos Jr at the White House, president Trump was asked a question about Jeffrey Epstein, which he brushed aside. Instead, he accused Obama of trying to interfere in the 2016 election. Trump called the Epstein investigation a 'witch hunt' and said the real issue was Obama's alleged role in a plot to undermine his victory against Hillary Clinton. 'The witch hunt you should be talking about is they caught president Obama, absolutely cold,' Trump said, before making a series of claims. The US president said he wanted the US department of justice to launch a criminal investigation into Obama. He told reporters that Obama, along with Hillary Clinton and others, tried to undermine American democracy. "We found absolute -- this isn't like 'evidence' or like -- this is proof, irrefutable proof that Obama was seditious, that Obama was trying to lead a coup, and with Hillary Clinton and all these other people, but Obama headed it up. This is the biggest scandal in the history of our country. It really goes on even to the autopen." by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Big Tummy? He claimed the Democrats paid $12 million to former British spy Christopher Steele for a report he called fake. He also said the report included false claims that media houses refused to print before the election. Trump claimed he had strong documentation, and said intelligence director Tulsi Gabbard told him more documents would be released soon. Trump linked the alleged conspiracy to the 2020 presidential election, which he again described as 'rigged'. Trump also accused the January 6 committee of destroying evidence that could have revealed wrongdoing.
