Coleen Rooney eclipses husband Wayne as main breadwinner as Wag's earnings soar while his income slumps
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) COLEEN Rooney's earnings have eclipsed those of ex-England footballer hubby Wayne after her business ventures made a £1.3million profit. New figures for her firm, CWR 2021, indicate the income from her endorsements and media career more than tripled in a year. Former Three Lions skipper Wayne, 39, was reportedly on around £500,000 as manager of Plymouth Argyle, before leaving the club in December. The ex-Manchester United striker was said to be raking in £300,000 a week at the peak of his earning power in 2014. Coleen's shift to becoming the main breadwinner will now be chronicled in a Disney+ documentary, called The Rooneys. Confirmed yesterday by the streaming giant, she will be seen running her business while he taking the couple's four sons to school. A financial expert said: 'These earnings show that, even before Coleen signed up for I'm A Celeb, she was already bringing in more money than Wayne. 'On the back of her jungle stint, where she was incredibly popular with the viewing public, she's now likely to see her earnings soar even further. 'And the increased interest in Coleen after she did so well on the show is also likely to have sealed the deal on the Disney contract. 'Getting big bucks from a global streamer, plus her pay cheque from ITV, will no doubt swell the Rooneys coffers even further.' Coleen picked up a big fee for I'm A Celebrity in the autumn when she was pipped to first place by McFly singer Danny Jones, 39. Wayne Rooney pictured looking glum on holiday with Coleen & Utd legend pals In recent months she has continued to bring in money through deals such as endorsing health supplement brand Applied Nutrition. Coleen has remained firmly in the public eye following her 2023 Wagatha court case brought by Rebekah Vardy. Coleen had accused Rebekah's Instagram account of leaking posts from her own private account. A judge dismissed Rebekah's libel claim on the basis that Coleen's statements were substantially true. That led to an three-part documentary series The Real Wagatha Story featuring exclusive access to Coleen. Wayne has recently turned to football punditry following a lean spell as a manager. He went from Derby County to briefly playing for DC United in the US, then returning to management at Birmingham City, before his doomed stint at Plymouth. But the shifting fortunes for the Rooneys have provided lots of interest for documentary makers, which has proved lucrative for the family. After making Prime Video biopic Rooney with Lorton Productions in 2022, the same creative team are now behind the Disney+ show. 5 Coleen has brought in big money through deals such as endorsing health supplement brand Applied Nutrition Credit: Supplied 5 Disney+'s three-part documentary series The Real Wagatha Story featured exclusive access to Coleen Credit: Disney+ 5 Coleen picked up a big fee for I'm A Celebrity last autumn Credit: Rex Unlock even more award-winning articles as The Sun launches brand new membership programme - Sun Club.

How to get the cheapest airport parking and save up to £120
Airport parking can not only be costly, but it can be tricky to find available spots and remember to book in advance when you have lots of other things to do (last minute packing, anyone?). New research from UK car retailer cinch revealed that Brits can actually save more than £120 on airport parking this summer. It comes in the form of parking on a nearby driveway rather than relying on official airport parking. Parking app JustPark has hundreds of available spaces that can be booked nationwide. By searching for the relevant airport on JustPark and then selecting the 'Park & Save' option, you can see a map of parking spaces and prices nearest to the airport. By clicking on a space, more information is given, such as if the spot has security lighting and is near a bus stop, if not within walking distance, for example. Reviews are also featured, with people praising the suitability of the driveway for space and ease (even friendly owners get a shoutout too!) Cinch's study compared parking costs at more than 30 major UK airports for a seven-night stay during the school summer holidays, with prices going up to £145 at some locations. That's more than 83% more than the cost for a local driveway on JustPark. The study included driveways available to rent on JustPark that were located less than four miles from the airport terminal. London City Airport topped the list with official car park costs reaching £145.50 for seven nights, and several other London airports also feature in the top 10. Leeds Bradford is the furthest-north airport to make the most expensive list, with parking costing from £102. Those who want to save by parking near, rather than at the airport are in luck. Based on the top 10 biggest savings using JustPark, drivers can save an average of £89.98 (77.51%) for a seven-day stay. London City Airport has the biggest potential for savings, with driveway parking on JustPark up to £121.50 (83.51%) cheaper than parking at the airport itself. Sam Sheehan, motoring editor at cinch, said: "Saving up to £120 by parking on a nearby driveway is definitely worth the short taxi ride to the airport. 'The saving could easily cover a meal or an extra excursion on your trip. 'And, as with anything, a little planning and booking as early as you can will help you secure the biggest savings on your airport parking this summer.' Harley Street advice How to get a free flight upgrade on your next holiday Luckily, not all airport parking costs £150 for a week, and there are some cheaper locations – with a healthy spread across England and a few in Scotland. Teesside International Airport in Durham came out the cheapest of the 30 studied, costing just £45 for seven nights of parking. Second-place at the other end of England was Cornwall Airport Newquay costing £48 for the same duration.
