Scotland's best water park has major revamp and will reopen in just weeks
The Time Capsule in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, shut its doors in March for essential renovations.
Initially, it was thought the facility would need six months to complete the overhaul, but the venue is now set to reopen much sooner than expected.
North Lanarkshire Council has affirmed extensive work has taken place beneath the surface, which encompasses installing new pumps, updating obsolete wiring and air blowers, along with electrical panel enhancements.
Active NL whetted appetites by posting a video on social platforms, offering a glimpse into the refurbished and iconic site, reports the Express.
With a note saying: "It's been a busy few months recharging the Time Capsule waterpark and we are delighted to announce that we anticipate the reopening to be late July.
"As we enter the final stages of the most significant upgrade to the waterpark in over 30 years, we're excited to welcome visitors back."
The update added: "While some of the features such as the tipping bucket won't be in action yet, we are committed to a phased programme of work to restore them."
Gratitude was extended to the public for "for their understanding and patience" throughout the closure, and they called for everyone to stay tuned for more news.
Situated a mere 25 minutes from Glasgow, The Time Capsule has earned distinction on Time Out's compilation of the UK's top pools.
The facility boasts a 25m swimming pool, a Tsunami wavepool, a wave machine, fun flumes, other entertaining features and a Riptide River.
Additionally, there's a leisure complex that houses a fully equipped gym, a soft play area and even an ice rink.
This massive attraction draws in approximately 700,000 visitors each year from all over the country and beyond, with entry fees ranging from £3.55 to £6.85 per person.

Teenagers invited to Coatbridge filmmaking taster session
The TWENTY20 Pictures Taster Session will take place at the Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life in Coatbridge. It is designed to offer young people aged 14 to 18 an introduction to filmmaking and acting in front of the camera.
