The event witnessed the participation of dignitaries including Ayush Prasad (District Collector, Jalgaon), Sangeeta Biyani, Sachin Nandre, Ashok Kumar (District Youth Officer, Jalgaon), Bhushan Patil (District Youth Officer, Nandurbar), Sachin Panjhade (Block Development Officer, Bhusawal), Sunil Panje (Accounts and Program Assistant, Jalgaon), Sandeep More (Assistant Project Officer), Bhaiya Mahajan (Sarpanch, Chorwad), Deepak Bhole, Virendra Patil (Gram Panchayat Member), Ravi Gunjal, Mayur Mandhare, Mohan Chaudhary, Vikas Navkar, and Rahul Patil (Gram Sevak, Chorwad).
The afforestation drive was jointly organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the District Administration Jalgaon, and My Bharat, Jalgaon.
The plantation of over 2,000 native saplings by enthusiastic students and volunteers was held. Species such as Kadu Badam, Tamarind, Neem, Amla, and Shisham were planted to enhance local biodiversity and combat environmental challenges like soil erosion, depleting groundwater levels, and rising temperatures caused by low forest cover.
Speaking at the event, Union Minister of State Raksha Nikhil Khadse emphasized the cultural and ecological importance of tree planting. Quoting the revered Saint Tukaram Maharaj, she said, 'Vrukshavalli Aamha Soyare, He Vishwachi Maze Ghar' (Trees are our kin, this world is my home), and urged all citizens to 'Plant trees, save trees! Cultivate a life of joy!'
A key highlight of the initiative was the active participation of National Service Scheme (NSS) units from several educational institutions in Bhusawal. These included PO Nahata College, PK Kotecha Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Chaitanya Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya Sakegaon, DDN Bhole College, Godavari Nursing College, Industrial Training Institute, Biyani Military School, and Rajaram Dhondu Secondary Vidyalaya.
Their active involvement contributed to strengthening the region's green infrastructure and community-driven environmental efforts. (ANI)

"If we first see in which country the attack took place, against whom, then it would be a betrayal against humanity. There should be no hesitation in imposing sanctions against terrorists," he said. Call for imposing sanctions on terrorists Mr. Modi's call for imposing sanctions on terrorists without hesitation comes against the backdrop of China blocking efforts at the U.N. Security Council in recent years to list several Pakistan-based terrorists. The Prime Minister also asserted that the victims and supporters of terrorism cannot be "weighed on the same scale'. "For personal or political gain, giving silent consent to terrorism, supporting terror or terrorists, should not be acceptable under any circumstances," he said. "There should be no difference between words and actions regarding terrorism. If we cannot do this, then the question naturally arises whether we are serious about the fight against terrorism or not," he asked. The Prime Minister expressed his "heartfelt gratitude" to the friendly countries who stood with India and supported it following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians. Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin skipped the summit, hosted by Brazil in its capacity as the current chair of the grouping. The BRICS has emerged as an influential grouping as it brings together 11 major emerging economies of the world, representing around 49.5% of the global population, around 40% of the global GDP and around 26% of the global trade. Mr. Modi said global peace and security is not just an ideal, but it is the "foundation of our common interests and future". "Development of humanity is possible only in a peaceful and secure environment. BRICS has a very important role in fulfilling this objective," he said. "To face our common challenges, we have to unite and make collective efforts. We have to move forward together," he added. In his remarks, Mr. Modi also expressed serious concerns over the situation in Gaza. PM Modi's comment on Gaza "From West Asia to Europe, today the world is surrounded by disputes and tensions. The humanitarian situation in Gaza is a cause of great concern," he said. The Prime Minister added that "India firmly believes that no matter how difficult the circumstances are, the path of peace is the only option for the welfare of humanity." "India is the land of Lord Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi. There is no place for war and violence for us," he added. The Prime Minister said "India supports every effort that takes the world away from division and conflict and leads it towards dialogue, cooperation and coordination and increases solidarity and trust". "In this direction, we are committed to cooperation and partnership with all friendly countries," he said.

In his statement at the BRICS session on Peace and Security at Rio de Janeiro, PM Modi said that condemning terrorism must be a matter of principle, and not of convenience, and there must be no hesitation in imposing sanctions on terrorists. The PM said: 'Terrorism is the most serious challenge facing humanity today. India recently endured a brutal and cowardly terrorist attack. The terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22nd April was a direct assault on the soul, identity, and dignity of India. 'This attack was not just a blow to India but to the entire humanity. In this hour of grief and sorrow, I express my heartfelt gratitude to the friendly countries who stood with us and expressed support and condolences. 'Condemning terrorism must be a matter of principle, and not just of convenience. If our response depends on where or against whom the attack occurred, it shall be a betrayal of humanity itself,' he said. The PM also said: 'The victims and supporters of terrorism cannot be treated equally. For the sake of personal or political gain, giving silent consent to terrorism or supporting terrorists or terrorism, should never be acceptable under any circumstances.' Referring to the ongoing Middle East tensions and the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the PM said that India firmly believes that no matter how difficult the circumstances, the path of peace is the only option for the good of humanity. He said that India is the land of Lord Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi, and there is no place for war and violence. 'India supports every effort that takes the world away from division and conflict and leads us towards dialogue, cooperation, and coordination; and increases solidarity and trust. In this direction, we are committed to cooperation and partnership with all friendly countries.' He invited all the member nations to India next year for the BRICS Summit to be held under India's chairmanship. In a post on X, the PM said: 'At the Session on 'Peace and Security and Reform of Global Governance' during the BRICS Summit, reiterated India's commitment to the values of peace and brotherhood. Afterall, world peace and security are the foundations of our shared interests and future. 'There must be absolutely no hesitation in imposing sanctions against terrorists. We cannot weigh victims of terrorism and its supporters on the same scale. Any silent support or approval to terrorism for personal or political interests must be unacceptable. 'India, being the land of Mahatma Gandhi and Gautam Buddha believes that no matter how difficult the circumstances are, the path of peace is the best option for the welfare of humanity. And, India will do everything possible in this direction.'
