Admissions and scholarships
Somaiya Vidyavihar University has opened admissions for 2025- 2026 for programmes in languages, literature, writing, and communication offered by its Faculty of Languages and Literature (FLL).
Programmes: MA in Marathi Bhasha, Sahitya ani Upyojit Marathi; MA in Gujarati Literature, Translation and Media; MA in Hindi Sahitya, and MA in English Literature and Communication Studies
Eligibility: Bachelor's in Arts or equivalent from a recognised university; candidates from other faculties will be assessed individually on their language capabilities.

The FLL also offers a one-year Diploma in Content and Creative Writing which is open to students from any discipline who have completed the HSC or an equivalent exam, including candidates from English, Hindi, Marathi and Gujarati medium. It offers certificate programmes in French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin, Urdu, Gujarati Communication Skills, and Communicative Marathi for non-Marathi speakers. Students who have passed the HSC or an equivalent exam from a recognised board can apply for Level 1.

Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India has opened admissions for its two-year, full-time programmes: PGDM in Entrepreneurship (PGDM–E) and PGDM in Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Venture Development (PGDM–IEV) for 2025-27.

The University of Sheffield, the U.K., invites applications for its MSc Environmental Change and International Development course starting this September.

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC), in association with Cubastion Consulting Pvt. Ltd., has introduced an enhanced version of My SSC, its mobile application, to simplify and safeguard the registration and application process for candidates across the country. It includes digital features such as Aadhaar-linked OTP authentication, one-time candidate registration, and face recognition through Aadhaar Face RD app. It can be downloaded from Google Play Store.
Shamir Lens conducted a dispensing workshop for optometry students at ITM's Institute of Health Sciences. Topics included component aspects of dispensing such as lens selection, lens fitting, and lens adjustments. Students witnessed a live demonstration of Spark 4, a tool, and how eye-care professionals used it to fit lenses with precision and speed.
The IISc Innovation Council, in collaboration with the Foundation for Science Innovation and Development (FSID) at IISc Bangalore, conducted Ché-Mystery: Science and Career, a Chemistry Workshop aimed at high school students. Over 35 students from schools across Bengaluru and beyond participated. Topics included From Natural Philosophy to Chemistry; Chemistry's Industrial Impact, and Why Study Chemistry Today?
IIT Guwahati researchers have developed a method for detecting and measuring the amount of SARS-CoV-2, that causes COVID-19. The research findings have been published in the journal, Applied Clay Science, in a paper co-authored by Prof. T.V. Bharat, Department of Civil Engineering, and Prof. Sachin Kumar, Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, along with research scholars Himanshu Yadav and Deepa Mehta, at IIT Guwahati.
IIT Roorkee was part of a collaborative effort which discovered 188Astatine (188At), a new atomic nucleus. This discovery was achieved through an experiment at the Accelerator Laboratory of the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, along with the theory developed at IIT Roorkee and Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal. Scientists have also reported the first evidence of a phenomenon called the Thomas-Ehrman shift in heavy nuclei. The research findings have been published in the journal Nature Communications.
KIIT World School, Sohna Road, hosted a workshop to familiarise educators with the provisions and practical implementation of the NEP 2020. It featured sessions by experts Sneh Bansal, Assistant Professor, NCERT, and Anju Verma, an educationist and language expert. They highlighted the importance of learner-centric teaching methodologies including self-assessment and peer evaluation, as key tools in fostering holistic development.

MIT-World Peace University has launched a battery fabrication and research facility focused on lithium-ion and sodium-ion technologies. Equipped with the latest tools and instrumentation, the facility supports academic research and collaborative projects with industry and research institutions.
Vikalp India launched its STEAM Lab at Home initiative to bring experiential learning to students' homes. It aims to make learning in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) hands-on. Students can establish their dedicated learning areas at home. At the start of the academic year, each student will receive a DIY kit encompassing Science, Social Science, and Maths.
FLAME University concluded the fifth edition of its Creators Residency themed Tradigital Trance: One World for Traditional and Digital Art. It recognised three artists experimenting with hand-drawn animation, Aboriginal painting reimagined through interactivity, and digitally synthesised classical music — Ritwika Ganguly, Ninad Palandurkar, and Aditya Dipankar, respectively.
Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR, held its Young Thinkers Forum (YTF) Summer School where over 110 students from 50 schools across 15 states participated. It featured over 30 sessions across subjects including Maths, Science, Astronomy, Entrepreneurship, Robotics, among others. World Environment Day (WED)
IIT Bangalore, in collaboration with the Jeevanmukthi Foundation Charitable Trust, organised a plantation drive at HSR Layout, Bengaluru, in Sudarvana Urban Forest, to celebrate WED.
Ryan International Academy, Sarjapur, celebrated WED through a range of environment-focused activities based on the theme #BeatPlasticPollution. It also declared its green mission to plant over 1,500 saplings.
Whistling Woods International launched a campus-wide initiative where sustainability warriors will collect and transform plastic waste into sustainable T-shirts. Up to 50 kgs of plastic waste is processed each month from the campus and surrounding areas, and repurposed into limited-edition garments.
IIM Nagpur celebrated WED through six projects that work together to reduce the campus's environmental impact and promote green living. These include a 2MW Power project to make the campus self-sustained for its energy needs; rainwater harvesting systems have been installed across the campus; wastewater being treated for reuse, to name a few.

IIM Kozhikode made its debut and secured the 87th position globally.
Excelia Business School, France, secured the 43rd rank globally and 12th rank among French schools.
IIM Bangalore secured a Level 5 Pioneering School position with a score of 9.3 out of 10 in the 2025 edition of the Positive Impact Rating.
The Centre for Science Learning and Creativity Science Museum in Shoghi stood first in the Himachal Pradesh Environment Leadership Award 2023–24. It was presented by Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Chief Minister, Himachal Pradesh.
Two students from Ashoka University won the Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation Scholarship. They are among the seven students across India who won the scholarship.

Woxsen University has signed an MoU with IBM India Private Limited to foster academic-industry partnership aimed at technology education across business and technology disciplines. Aptech Limited has signed an articulation agreement with the International School of Management (ISM), Germany.
