Warriors' Fallback Option to Bradley Beal Revealed By NBA Insider

Warriors' Fallback Option to Bradley Beal Revealed By NBA Insider originally appeared on Athlon Sports. It was not too long ago since the Golden State Warriors were connected to Bradley Beal, should a buyout take place between him and the Phoenix Suns. The Warriors remain connected to the star guard, but also have contingency plans in place, if they need them. Advertisement Suns insider John Gambadoro was the one who originally linked the Warriors to Beal, listing them as one of the top teams interested in signing the former All-Star after a buyout situation. Those circumstances are ones that Beal is already preparing for. Marc Stein reported, "Bradley Beal is actively exploring his options with other teams in anticipation of a Suns buyout, league sources tell [The Stein Line]." Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal smilingRobert Edwards-Imagn Images There are notable free agents who are all reportedly waiting on the fallout from the Bradley Beal saga. Jake Fischer reported that Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, and Malcolm Brogdon are all subject to the waiting game right now. Advertisement Fischer wrote, "League sources say that the options for Paul, Westbrook and Brogdon are likely to be impacted by where Beal lands." The player worth paying attention to in these circumstances for Warriors fans would be Brogdon. The veteran guard has a long list of teams that hold interest, according to Fischer, including Golden State. Fischer added, "All of these scenarios, furthermore, are sure to have an impact on Brogdon. League sources say that the Wizards are open to sign-and-trade discussions to facilitate Brogdon's exit from Washington and a slew of teams have registered varying levels of interest in the 32-year-old." The NBA insider continued, "That list includes the [Los Angeles Clippers] Clippers, Suns and [Los Angeles] Lakers as well as the Warriors, [Minnesota] Timberwolves, [New Orleans] Pelicans, [Sacramento] Kings and [Milwaukee] Bucks." Advertisement Brogdon could provide a trusted option at the backup guard position for the Warriors. It would fill one of several needs still left on the team's roster as they gear up for the 2025-26 campaign. Warriors Could Sign Former Guard After New Lakers Report

Warriors Could Sign Former Guard After New Lakers Report originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Things have been deafeningly quiet in the Bay Area during what should be the most exciting time of the NBA's offseason calendar. The Golden State Warriors have not gotten in on the fun in of the free agency frenzy at all. That could change soon. Advertisement The Warriors have had their hands tied with the Jonathan Kuminga situation. They are also eagerly awaiting the decision on what Al Horford does with his future. Now, there is a more underrated name that has been tossed into the mix here. Mandatory Credit: David Richard-Imagn Images© David Richard-Imagn Images The Warriors did not get to see a lot of De'Anthony Melton in their jersey last season. The two-way guard suffered a torn ACL, limiting him to only six games in the Bay Area. Melton was ultimately dealt away from the Warriors in the deal that briefly brought Dennis Schroder to town. Schroder did not have a long or impactful stay in Golden State either. Melton averaged 10.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and shot 37.1 percent from beyond the arc in his small handful of outings with the Warriors. The front office may want a second crack at seeing if this relationship can work. Advertisement The Los Angeles Lakers have been a team that has been linked to Melton a ton in free agency thus far. However, Lakers insider Jovan Buha said things are losing momentum on that front. Meanwhile, for the Warriors, they are picking up. "The chatter with Melton and the Lakers has cooled over the last few days," Buha stated. "There's actually been more buzz with him and the Warriors. He's been linked to them a little bit more." Melton's ability to knock down shots and hold his own on the defensive end should make him an easy plug-and-play for the Warriors. If his abilities have not been dampened too much by his recent injury, this move would be worth running back for Golden State. 3 Moves Warriors Can Make to Recover Disastrous Offseason

3 Moves Warriors Can Make to Recover Disastrous Offseason originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Golden State Warriors continue to remain quiet as a mouse in free agency. They have been forced to watch the other Western Conference contenders get better around them while remaining stagnant themselves. Advertisement Fans have quickly grown frustrated with the situation in Golden State. However, there is still time in free agency to change the evaluation that the Warriors receive for this offseason. With several key names still available, and situations evolving by the day, the Warriors should have several opportunities to make their splashes when the time comes. Boston Celtics center Al Horford (42)Winslow Townson-Imagn Images Lock down Al Horford Let's start with the obvious. The Warriors have been connected to Al Horford as the presumed frontrunners for a substantial amount of time this offseason. Sealing the deal will feel oh so sweet for Golden State. Assuming Horford does not opt to just kick his feet up and call it a career, the veteran big man should have the inside track to starting at the five in 2025-26. That will provide the Warriors with a solid short-term solution. Advertisement Horford averaged 9.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks per game, while shooting 36.3 percent from beyond the arc in 2024-25. The former champion should still have enough gas in the tank to help alleviate Draymond Green of needing to play center full-time. Nov 12, 2024; San Francisco, California, USA; Golden State Warriors forwards Jonathan Kuminga and Andrew Wiggins battle for position with Dallas Mavericks guard Klay Edmondson-Imagn Images Sign-and-trade Jonathan Kuminga to the Sacramento Kings On July 6, Anthony Slater wrote, "[The Sacramento] Kings have been strongest pursuer of [Jonathan Kuminga], but nothing has come close." Finally getting movement on the Kuminga front is necessary for the Warriors to get the rest of their offseason properly moving. If the Kings are the team most interested, they should be the partner here. Advertisement The major road block would be the type of contract that the athletic forward may desire. A big pay day may elude Kuminga here as Malik Monk stands out as the natural candidate to be sent back the other way for Golden State. The Warriors could certainly acquire a couple of more players to allow Kuminga some extra financial flexibility. However, the 22-year-old would likely need to temper his expectations overall. Phoenix Suns guard Bradley BealRick Scuteri-USA TODAY Sports Add a key free-agent guard If the Warriors are not yielding someone like Monk in a sign-and-trade for Kuminga, they will still need to address the need for additional firepower. There should be a few key names to monitor. Advertisement A reunion with De'Anthony Melton has been suggested. Adding Bradley Beal in the instance of a buyout could also prove worthwhile. Perhaps even adding someone like Malcolm Brogdon to run the second unit would have its worth. The Warriors will have their options as free agency continues to develop. They cannot possibly strike out on all of them. This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jul 15, 2025, where it first appeared.
