Tom Cruise beams as he joins chic co-star Hayley Atwell for Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning press conference in Tokyo
Tom Cruise was beaming as he stepped on stage for a press conference in Japan ahead of his new film Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning.
The Hollywood star, 61, looked dapper as he joined his co-stars to promote the highly-anticipated eighth film in the franchise at Toho Cinemas Roppongi Hills in Tokyo on Wednesday.
Among the stars in attendance was English actress Hayley Atwell, who reprises her role as Grace, a former thief turned IMF agent and ally to Tom's character, Ethan Hunt.
Hayley, 43, looked effortlessly chic as she stepped out in a black leather bomber jacket, with matching wide-leg trousers and white stilettos.
Meanwhile Tom sported a smart ensemble consisting of grey suit with a matching polo shirt for the appearance, as it was revealed advance screenings will begin from May 17 in Japan.
They were joined by a number of other stars from the movie, including Simon Pegg, Greg Tarzan Davis and Pom Klementieff, as well as director Christopher McQuarrie.
Reprising his role as the titular hero Ethan Hunt, Tom takes on his biggest mission yet, after a tense cliffhanger saw the spy determined to track down cyber weapon The Entity and learning that his team was betrayed and his 'secrets compromised.'
The film, which has faced multiple delays, is finally due to hit cinemas on May 23 2025.
The following day, Tom was joined by his co-stars once again at the Japan press conference at Toho Cinemas.
The actor looked sharp in an all grey ensemble as he took to the stage with his cast, which included Tarzan Davis, Hayley, Christopher McQuarrie, Simon and Pom Klementieff.
On Saturday, Tom was joined by his new girlfriend Ana for David's star-studded 50th birthday bash, with the star later spotted in a background of a snap shared from the party on Instagram.
While Tom had seemingly arrived on his own at the swanky celebrations at Notting Hill's Core restaurant on Saturday, hours later the facade dropped as he was spotted leaving in a car with the actress.
The couple made an effort to hide their relationship as they left the venue in the early hours shielded by umbrellas, before ducking behind the seats as they sat together in the back of the vehicle.
While they were trying to conceal their appearance together, bleary-eyed Tom appeared to find the whole thing quite amusing as he was spotted laughing and smiling as their sneaky moment was caught on camera.
Meanwhile Tom sported a smart ensemble consisting of grey suit with a matching polo shirt for the appearance, as it was revealed advance screenings will begin from May 17.
Ana, who was wearing an elegant strappy black dress, meanwhile kept her head down as she avoided being photographed with Tom, following their best efforts to keep their joint attendance quiet.
Earlier in the evening, Tom made a low-key arrival at the celebration, following a series of reports that his girlfriend was also invited to the star-studded event.
Tom appeared to enter the venue solo, spotted sitting in the back of a black cab as he pulled up to the exclusive spot.
Ana had joined her new beau in London earlier last week as they both jetted into the capital ahead of her own birthday on April 30.
Tom and Ana have been linked since Valentine's Day this year.
They appeared to confirm their romance as they flew into London together last week, just days before her birthday.

Knock Out – Season 1 Episode 8 Recap & Review
Episode 8 Knock Out Episode 8 returns us to the hospital where Pakorn appeals to Thun. Then in walks Keen, overhearing Pakorn call him his son. After Pakorn leaves, Phuwish tells Petch that he'd like to visit him at the gym this evening to talk about the academy. As the two walk out, Keen is noticeably frosty with Thun, who still hasn't explained himself. Back at the gym, Thun tries to take Keen's hand, but he pulls it away, saying he's tired. When they get to their room, they find it's been ransacked, yet nothing seems to be missing. Everyone comes running but Win notices Ait's absence and checks his room to find his locker empty. READ MORE: Thai and BL drama reviews As the group discusses Ait, they hear noises in the gym. Fight mode snaps on and the team battles the loan shark lackeys who'd come to collect. They continue to rail on Win as he hasn't yet paid his debt. Thun promises to fight to pay off the debt but that's not good enough to deliver the money now. Just in time, Phuwish and his guys arrive. Finding out that they owe money, Phuish says he wants to meet the boss and agrees to pay the debt before hearing it's 1 million Baht. He hands over a check, telling the gang he'll drum out corruption in sports. After the thugs take leave, Phuwish asks the favor he'd come for – he'd wanted to buy the academy from Petch. But now he says he'll call it an even exchange for the debt. Thun suggests they talk it over first. All together, Keen suggests they sell and put it all behind them. Thun notes that White Tiger Gym has made an offer too. He'll buy the academy and pay off all the debts, claiming he'd like to do the right thing as a father. In response, Keen demands a private chat, believing Pakorn may have set everything up to reach this end. Thun explains that he hasn't seen Pakorn as his father in a long time, ever since he abandoned him. As Thun takes Keen's hand, Keen accuses Pakorn of killing his dad. Talking it out, Keen shows him the evidence from Klao, noting that Pakorn wasn't wearing his pin in the hospital. Thun agrees to support Keen no matter who committed the crime. Just as they start to cuddle, Win throws open the door. He suddenly knows who drugged Thun. Could it be Ait? Flashback to the dressing room where Ait does the deed. His mystery caller is the loan shark boss himself, Sia Thep. At the hospital, Ait suggests that Sia Thep may be trying to get to Phuwish. Originally, it was the boss who suggested going to Phuwish for help. Ait takes the blame and apologizes to everyone and Petchak immediately forgives him. Later, Ait thanks Win for cheering him on and returns his confession. Feeling guilty after Phuwish paid the debt, Petch signs over the academy to him. Phuwish instantly hands Keen a promo for another fight. It's tomorrow and he'd love them all to participate. Even though it's last minute, they feel they have to agree. Klao stops by and checks out the Ring Rage event with Keen. She also tells him that she now believes the pin she found may have belonged to Muay. She's also noticed that several bigwigs have that same pin. Could it be a club? As they discuss possibilities, Thun watches from afar. Incensed, Thun visits his father to find out if he killed Keen's father. But he'll only answer if Thun gets in the ring with him. He somehow manages to KO his son, which Typhoon spots from the doorway. At the gym, as the team jumps into a van to head to Ring Rage, Keen receives a message that Thun will meet him there. Meanwhile, Pakorn apologizes for being late, saying he had some trouble with a 'new product.' He shows the other man – it's Phuwish – and calls him Sia Thep (yes, the loan shark). The 'product' is a trussed-up Thun. The Episode Review Nice one, Dad. Well, I figured Phuwish had something to do with the loan shark when he handed over a check so easily. It certainly felt like the jaws were closing when he tried to rush them into a decision. I didn't guess, however, that he and Pakorn were on the same (evil) team. And that Pakorn would hand over his son, presumably shot up with Hulk juice or soon to be. Now that Klao has caught on to the idea of a 'club' of greedy adults, she'll be able to help Keen figure out what's happening. Hopefully, before they do something horrible to the fearless Thun. Anyone else think there's a chance that Typhoon will help? He and Thun were friends once… Wait a minute… this is the second time Keen's home has been searched. What could they be seeking? Squid Game – K-drama Season 3 Episode 5 Recap & Review
Episode 5 Episode 5 of Squid Game Season 3 begins with No-eul entering the base via a vent. Gi-hun returns to the bunker and tries to kill the rest of the players, starting with Player 100. While In-ho watches, it cuts to a flashback of his game. Old Man aka Chairman Oh makes In-ho the same offer. And while he is shaken, In-ho kills the remaining 5 members. At present, Gi-hun stops after he hallucinates Sae-byeok. Trouble is afoot for those on the sea. The pursuit team gets closer to 246 by tracking his boat. Jun-ho keeps searching for the island and In-ho finally radios him. He tells Jun-ho to stop or he will die. Jun-ho refuses. No-eul sneaks into the Officer's room and makes him delete the digital records of 246. Before she can kill him, he reveals that there is a hard copy but only he and the Frontman have access to the archives. Once they are in the elevator, he attacks. They reach the floor but lose the gun in the elevator. The Officer wonders if No-eul has feelings for 246. She reveals that she is doing it for his daughter. We learn that her daughter died in North Korea. The Officer reveals that he is partial to her not because of their shared hometown but because he too lost a loved one. He stabs her and lazily follows as she crawls. While he monologues, she reaches the elevator and shoots him with the abandoned gun. The final game is Sky Squid Game with 3 rounds. The players need to push one or more alive players off a tower to move to the next round. Round 1 begins on a square tower. If they do not eliminate anyone within 15 minutes, everyone will be killed. Each tower has a button they need to press to start the timer and the round. Unable to decide on which Red Team member to kill, the Blue Team agrees to be democratic and vote on their victims. But there is one problem – they need to separate Gi-hun and the baby, so they have 3 targets for all 3 rounds. Myung-gi suggests killing Min-su first to get it over with. Min-su doesn't make it easy but Myung-gi takes out the pole in the middle of the tower and pushes him off. Min-su hallucinates Se-mi and apologises to her before falling to his death. No-eul looks for 246's file in the archive and finally finds it. The players move to the second tower. Gi-hun realises that he has the upper hand as he sets up base on the edge. If the Blue Team kills him and the child now, they will have to pick among themselves for the last round. As the team frets, the hyper 203 starts the timer and Round 2 begins. He insists that Gi-hun will pick his own life over the kid but the rest know that 203 is wrong. Frustrated, 203 gets violent. Myung-gi interjects with an idea. On the sea, the pursuit team finds 246 and shoots at him. He shoots back but he soon runs out of bullets. Before they can kill him, Jun-ho finds them and kills the pursuit team. Back to the game, the Blue Team plays Rock, Paper, Scissors and the loser tries to convince Gi-hun that they will draw lots on who to kill. All they need is for him to join them in the center of the pillar (where they plan to grab the child from him). If he refuses, Plan B is for the loser to grab the child while Myung-gi pushes off Gi-hun with the pole. Unsurprisingly, Gi-hun refuses to move and the loser attacks. But Myung-gi pushes off the loser. Everyone is shocked and Myung-gi tries to convince Gi-hun that he is the child's father. The Blue Team thinks he is lying but Gi-hun recalls Myung-gi trying to help Jun-hee in the jump rope game. Seeing that Myung-gi has the pole and Gi-hun has the knife, the Blue Team suggests drawing lots for real. As the two hesitate, the team suddenly betrays their own member, Player 39 and breaks his leg. They offer to kill 39 in the next round but Gi-hun refuses, wanting to play fair. Having had enough, 203 and another player attack him. After a scuffle, Gi-hun and Myung-gi kill them. Player 100 is nervous as he tries to agree to whatever Gi-hun wants. However, Myung-gi pushes him off, citing that the prized money has just increased. Gi-hun doesn't look happy but it gets worse as 39 decides to kill himself. Gi-hun and Myung-gi try to stop him but he refuses to be anyone's pawn. He jumps off and the round ends. Only Gi-hun, Myung-gi and the baby remain at the end of Squid Game Season 3 Episode 5. The Episode Review It is always Myung-gi taking it too far, isn't it? With the crypto, with the Hide and Seek game and now with killing Player 100. If he hadn't been greedy, it wouldn't have come down to him, his kid, and Gi-hun. Great work, Myung-gi! Squid Game Season 3 Episode 5 is a pretty good penultimate episode, otherwise too. No-eul finally goes head-to-head with the Officer and we learn a whole lot about her. Their dynamic is also explained as they not only know each other from before, but they have a closer bond due to their shared experiences of losing a loved one. Jun-ho makes some headway too and we can rejoice. It only took the poor guy two seasons, 12 episodes and a couple of years in the Squid Game world. We do wish the show had left some more important characters for the final game. Killing Min-su and then the rest of the Blue Team did not pack the emotional punch as Season 1's penultimate episode. It also made Gi-hun and Myung-gi's survival predictable, as no way the final showdown would consist of inconsequential characters like Player 100.
