Vision comes to light of sneaky Zak Butters act he copied from Nick Daicos

Nick Daicos has found a new admirer in the AFL after new footage emerged of Zak Butters copying a cheeky move of the Collingwood midfielder's in his side's win over Carlton. Blues fans were left frustrated after Thursday night's horror 50-point away loss to Port Adelaide with Michael Voss facing plenty of pressure to stop the form slump.
And in the aftermath of the demolition, Butters spoke about a cheeky tactic he developed from his Collingwood rival. On Channel 7, it was revealed after the game that Butters had made a U-turn after looking like he was being substituted to remain on the field.
The idea of this was to avoid his tag from Carlton. And Butters admitted he got the idea from watching Daicos lat year. "I watch a lot of vision during the week, I watch lot of footy. I prepare for everything...I actually got it off Nick Daicos. I saw him do it a couple of times last year."
And vision has emerged of Butters pulling off the stunt. Butters ran off the field with his tag Alex Cincotta following him across the white line. However, Butters made a quick dash back on the field having not been subbed with Cincotta taking a seat on the bench.

This gave Butters an extra few minutes without being pressured to make his mark on the game. Only minutes later Butter took an easy mark in the centre of the field with no Carlton player picking him up.
Reporter Mitch Cleary claimed Butters was 'running free' against Carlton in a move that could become more regular when players are being tagged. Against Carlton the 24-year-old midfielder had 30 disposals and 19 handballs in a stellar performance.
Butters admitting he likes to learn from his rivals was welcomed by AFL fans with Daicos one of the favourites to take out the Brownlow Medal in 2025. Butters has been enjoying a strong season, but his side remain outside finals footy in 10th place.

Port Adelaide's thumping win took them four points above Carlton who now sit in 11th on the ladder with their finals hopes dangling by a thread. And Blues general manager of football Brad Lloyd claimed he is aware Voss and him are targets.
Asked if he and Voss would be at the club next year, Lloyd replied: "I'm unsure of that. "We will just stick at it and keep going to work," he told reporters at Melbourne airport on Friday. It's for others to judge. We have been going at it for a little while now and we have had some good times and some down times like we are now."
Voss' contract runs till the end of 2026, but faces pressure if his side doesn't make the top eight. Incoming chief executive Graham Wright is known for making changes and will take over from Brian Cook at the end of a season. In ugly scenes after the loss, the club's headquarters were tagged overnight with graffiti to "sack the board".
Carlton president Rob Priestley has backed coach Voss to remain in charge at least until the end of the season, but captain Patrick Cripps has also weighed-in. Cripps said the noise was certainly growing louder at Carlton, but he was ready to find out who was willing to fight for the club.
'The thing I really try to focus on as well with the other leaders is making sure we're all on the same page but also trying to keep the energy high … as much as you can, you've got to try and block the external out and it can be loud,' Cripps said on the new vodcast On The Inside.

Australian eagle makes miraculous snatch of catfish hurled into the air

Turns out that A.J. Brown and Terrell Owens aren't the only impressive and legendary eagle receivers. There's also this actual eagle who isn't in the NFL, but who lives in Australia. Thanks to Instagram account "treknaustralia" we have this moment with this caption: "This was absolutely amazing." MORE OUTDOORS: It truly was amazing. A fisherman grabbed a catfish, waited as an eagle circled above his boat. Then? He tossed it into the air. In one snap of its talons, it grabbed the fish and raced off for a meal. Seriously. How cool is that? The bird is a Hall of Famer when it comes to catching things: View this post on Instagram A post shared by Trekn Australia (@treknaustralia) My question: how did the eagle know it was getting fed? Was there some instinct that the guy holding up the fish was going throw it? I guess that's why they call them eagle eyes. Also, credit to the fisherman for timing it perfectly. What a moment! Lions score eight tries in win over Queensland Reds

Queensland Reds: (12) 12 Tries: Toomaga-Allen, Flook Con: McLaughlin-Phillips British and Irish Lions (21) 52 Tries: Freeman 2, Porter, Van der Merwe, Itoje, Morgan, Jones, Ringrose Cons: Russell 4, F Smith 2 Advertisement Tommy Freeman scored twice as the British and Irish Lions ran in eight tries in a comprehensive victory over the Queensland Reds in Brisbane. The Lions turned around at the break with a 21-12 lead, Andrew Porter and Duhan van der Merwe also going over with Jeffery Toomaga-Allen and Josh Flook scoring for the hosts, who started with a bang. The Reds took the lead with that try from Toomaga-Allen and regained it when Flook scored, but the Lions dominated thereafter. There was a big performance from captain Maro Itoje, who scored the fourth, and a huge shift from Jac Morgan, who got the fifth. Freeman added a sixth and the seventh came when Huw Jones broke away on his own. Advertisement In the last act, Garry Ringrose made it eight tries and more than a half-century for the second game running. Finn Russell (four) and his replacement Fin Smith (two) landed six of the eight conversions as the Lions made it two wins from two on Australian soil. There are some concerns for Elliot Daly, who went off in discomfort in the second half with an arm injury. Daly, one of the players of the trip so far, had come into the team after Hugo Keenan withdrew before kick-off with illness. Some challenges off the pitch, then, but on it the Lions, after an iffy start, pulled away impressively. More to follow. More to follow.

Andy Farrell delivers Lions injury update as wincing star heading for X-ray

British & Irish Lions coach Andy Farrell has offered an update on Elliot Daly after the England star was forced off with injury during Wednesday's win over Queensland Reds. Farrell's side ran in eight tries as they blew away the Super Rugby side with a dominant second-half display in Brisbane, with Tommy Freeman scoring a brace of tries and Andrew Porter, Duhan van der Merwe, Maro Itoje, Jac Morgan, Huw Jones and Garry Ringrose all getting on the scoresheet. The England international - who was a late addition to the starting XV after Hugo Keenan pulled out through illness - was tended to by medical staff after the heavy collision shortly after the hour mark. However, just five minutes later, a visibly gutted Daly departed the action, with his reaction as he left the field sparking concern amongst Lions fans. After the final whistle, Farrell gave an update to Sky Sports as he revealed that the 32-year-old was being sent for an X-ray to determined the extent of the injury. "He's pretty sore in there," said the head coach. "We'll get him an X-ray. Advertisement "It looks like he's taken a knock to his forearm there, so fingers crossed for him." Daly's future on this year's Lions tour now hangs in the balance, as a serious injury could force him to follow Wales scrum-half Tomos Williams in flying home from Australia. Unless Keenan recovers from his bout of illness, Scotland star Blair Kinghorn now looks set to take the No.15 jersey for the Lions' clash with the Waratahs on Saturday. Neither he or Keenan have featured for the Lions yet this summer, despite being seen as the frontrunners for the starting full-back spot Down Under. Quizzed on how his plans for the opening Test against Australia were progressing, Farrell said: "Of course you have thoughts, but again you need to be open-minded enough. Advertisement "I think it's just Hugo and Blair that haven't played now. I think some lads today were desperate for another crack to get out there again. "A lot of lads have put their hands up really well and may the competition continue."
