Taylor Swift's luxury watch era: her collection includes a Rolex gifted by Travis Kelce, a diamond-encrusted Cartier, a Louis Vuitton Tambour … and the vintage timepiece worn to the Grammys
Taylor Swift has entered her luxury watch era.
The powerhouse performer has dominated the zeitgeist in the last two years, propelled by her
record-breaking Eras Tour . Combined with the release of her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, Swift's net worth has soared past the 10-figure mark, reportedly reaching about US$1.6 billion, says Forbes.

What better time, then, for her to jump into the world of opulent watches? While Swift has long been a style icon – her blonde fringe, red lips and signature winged eyeliner are instantly recognisable – she's historically steered clear of high-end timepieces.
According to stylist Sarah Chapelle, who has closely followed
Swift's developing image , this new focus on watches reflects a broader shift in the singer-songwriter's approach to accessories.

'Over the last year, Taylor has elevated her jewellery game, experimenting with layering in categories like necklaces, earrings and bracelets. But one category that's completely new to her? Watches,' Chapelle shared on Instagram.
And though she's only beginning her journey into the realm of extravagant timepieces, the musician has already curated an enviable collection. Here's a look at the high-end watches Taylor Swift has been sporting.

In December, Swift wore a decidedly smart-looking 14k yellow gold Panthère de Cartier to the New York birthday party of long-time friend and stylist Ashley Avignone, reported Page Six. Much like the sequin-smothered bodysuits she dazzles in onstage, Swift's Cartier is similarly adorned, encrusted with 40 brilliant-cut diamonds that effortlessly catch the light.

Chile hands luxury watches stolen from actor Keanu Reeves over to the FBI
Chilean authorities said on Tuesday they turned six valuable watches stolen from Canadian actor Keanu Reeves – including an engraved Rolex worth at least US$9,500 – over to the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), months after recovering them in a police raid. Advertisement The FBI will arrange for their return to Reeves , best known for his roles in action franchises such as The Matrix and John Wick. Chilean prosecutors told reporters that Reeves had identified the watches as those stolen from his Los Angeles home during a string of high-profile burglaries in December 2023. The announcement was made as the Trump administration's Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem , arrived in the South American country for meetings with Chilean officials about transnational crime, among other issues. Noem was also the victim of a robbery attributed to a Chilean national living illegally in the US, when her handbag was stolen last April at a Washington restaurant. Advertisement Reeves' six watches are valued at a total of US$125,000, said Marcelo Varas, a police officer from Chile's robbery investigation squad.

Labubu retailer Pop Mart focused on taking Chinese brand to world, CEO says
A new wave of Chinese consumer companies, led by toymaker Pop Mart, is seeking a greater global presence, reflecting China's strategic pivot towards exporting its brands, and not just products. 'We originally hoped to become China's Disney; now we hope to become the world's Pop Mart,' the company's founder and CEO, Wang Ning, said in an interview with state broadcaster China Central Television on Thursday. 'We use China's manufacturing industry and market to incubate artists from all over the world, and bring their creations back out to the world.' Pop Mart, a retailer with an intellectual property-focused business model, has seen its international revenue soar with the explosive global popularity of its Labubu dolls. The plush character with pointy ears, jagged teeth and signature mischievous grin, has gained high-profile fans like Lisa from K-pop group Blackpink and global music icon Rihanna, and is often sold out around the world. The company's revenue from markets outside mainland China surged 375.2 per cent to 5.07 billion yuan (US$708.35 million) last year and is set for further growth. 'This year, overseas sales will likely surpass domestic sales,' Wang said, noting that sales in North America were expected to exceed sales in Southeast Asia, its top-performing overseas market last year.

Last good night set for Late Show and Colbert
Last good night set for Late Show and Colbert Stephen Colbert says the Late Show franchise is 'all just going away'. File photo: Reuters Stephen Colbert's "The Late Show", long a staple of late-night television, will come to an end in 2026, the comedian and network CBS said. "Next year will be our last season," the host announced on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" to boos and shouts of disbelief. "The network will be ending the show in May." CBS called the cancellation "purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night," and said in a statement the move was "not related in any way to the show's performance, content or other matters happening at [parent company] Paramount." Paramount, CBS's parent company, reached a US$16 million settlement with President Donald Trump this month in a lawsuit the entertainment giant described as meritless. The company is seeking to close its US$8 billion merger with the entertainment company Skydance, which needs federal government approval. Trump had sued Paramount for US$20 billion, alleging that CBS News' "60 Minutes" program deceptively edited an interview with his 2024 election rival, Kamala Harris, in her favour. Colbert, an outspoken critic of Trump, described the settlement as "a big fat bribe" on his show this week. He said on Thursday the cancellation was not just the end of his show but the end of "The Late Show" franchise on CBS. "I'm not being replaced. This is all just going away," he said. However, Trump's political opponents and other critics drew attention to the timing of the decision. "CBS canceled Colbert's show just THREE DAYS after Colbert called out CBS parent company Paramount for its $16M settlement with Trump – a deal that looks like bribery," Democratic senator Elizabeth Warren said on social media platform X. "America deserves to know if his show was canceled for political reasons," Warren said. Democratic Senator Adam Schiff, who was on Colbert's show the night he announced it would be ending, said: "If Paramount and CBS ended the 'Late Show' for political reasons, the public deserves to know. And deserves better." CBS said in its Thursday statement it was "proud that Stephen called CBS home. He and the broadcast will be remembered in the pantheon of greats that graced late night television." (AFP)
