Ministry of Sports organises ‘UX Lab' event for Sports Sabbatical services as part of Zero Government Bureaucracy Program
It involves representatives from sports entities in developing solutions and evaluating customer experiences to fulfill their needs with more efficient and flexible services.

UAE, May 2025- The Ministry of Sports hosted the 'User Experience Lab' (UX Lab) at its headquarters in Dubai to enhance sports sabbatical services. The event presented an in-depth simulation of the digital customer journey, allowing participants to evaluate the sports sabbatical services offered by the Ministry. Attendees included representatives from various sports federations, the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), and specialists from the Ministry's digital transformation and customer happiness departments.
The event highlighted the Ministry's ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency of government services and simplify the processes for obtaining sports sabbatical services as part of the UAE's Government Services 2.0 framework and the Zero Government Bureaucracy program. In this context, His Excellency Ghanim Mubarak Al Hajeri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports, stated that hosting the UX Lab is a testament to the Ministry's unwavering commitment to providing smart and integrated sports services that streamline transaction procedures for sports entities. In addition, he said: 'Enhancing customer experiences is one of the factors that drive our efforts to design services and simplify procedures. Through this initiative, we look forward to directly involving representatives of sports federations in the process of assessing the services and proposing solutions, further emphasising our belief that remarkable improvements in services begin with customers.'
H.E. Al Hajeri added: 'We consider the UX Lab as a meaningful step towards our efforts to offer government services without any administrative complications, using optimisation tools and collaborative designs with customers. Through its results, we aim to make significant enhancements in sports sabbatical services and attain the goals of the Zero Government Bureaucracy Program.'
The UX Lab will evaluate the current customers' experience with sports sabbatical services. In line with this, six representatives from sports entities who participated in the event were allocated one hour each to conduct a session assessing their digital journey and exploring opportunities for improvement. The event further aligns with the Ministry's efforts to provide seamless and effective government services focused on customer requirements.
The Ministry of Sports continues its efforts to implement quality initiatives that enhance customer experiences and improve access to its services, guided by a customer-centric vision. By employing best practices in government service design, the Ministry aims to streamline processes and boost operational efficiency. This approach ensures smoother and more adaptable service experiences that align with the expectations of sports entities and support the country's digital transformation.

Over 215,000 projects funded under Mashrouak, exceeding EGP 33bn in May: Minister
Minister of Local Development Manal Awad has reviewed a progress report on the National Project for Community, Human, and Local Development—known as Mashrouak—from its inception in 2015 through to the end of May 2025. The initiative is a central pillar of the Ministry's strategy to encourage young Egyptians to launch small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), generate sustainable employment opportunities, and reduce unemployment. Awad affirmed that Mashrouak has become one of the Ministry's most effective tools in promoting entrepreneurship, supporting youth and women, and enhancing local development. It contributes directly to the state's broader efforts to harness the potential of young people and raise living standards, particularly in underserved communities. The Minister highlighted that the project continues to deliver strong performance across all governorates, helping to build a resilient base of local economic activity. In May 2025 alone, 1,206 SMEs were launched nationwide with support from approximately EGP 374m in loans, generating 6,077 direct job opportunities. Since the programme's launch, total loans disbursed have exceeded EGP 33bn, financing more than 215,000 projects across Egypt. These ventures have collectively created over 1.43m direct employment opportunities, reinforcing the initiative's role as a driver of inclusive economic development. According to the report submitted to the Minister, lending in May increased by EGP 148m compared to April, with 952 additional projects approved. Micro-enterprises alone accounted for 2,421 direct jobs created in the same month. Awad underscored that Upper Egypt remains a priority for the programme, continuing to receive substantial financial and technical support. The region topped the national list in terms of project implementation during May. Sohag led with 121 projects funded by EGP 55m, followed by Assiut with 118 projects and EGP 54.6m, and Beni Suef with 74 projects receiving EGP 14.3m in loans. In Aswan, 72 projects were financed with loans totalling EGP 52m. Beyond Upper Egypt, several Delta governorates also reported strong activity. Dakahleya saw 118 projects launched with more than EGP 18m in funding, while Sharqeya registered 92 projects backed by EGP 17.5m. Beheira followed with 91 projects receiving EGP 10.6m in loans. Awad concluded by reiterating the Ministry's commitment to expanding the reach of Mashrouak, enhancing access to finance, and supporting Egypt's broader goals of empowering youth, strengthening local economies, and achieving sustainable development across all regions.

FM reviews efforts to export Egyptian medicines to African markets
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, a meeting with Dr. Hisham Steet, Head of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply, and the Management of Technology, as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation between the two sides to support the export of Egyptian medicines and medical supplies to African markets. Minister Abdelatty expressed his appreciation for the fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Migration and the authority, praising the effective coordination that has been achieved in supporting the state's efforts to deepen health cooperation with African countries. He affirmed the Ministry's aspiration to continue this constructive collaboration, which contributes to enhancing the accessibility of Egyptian pharmaceuticals to African Minister also extended his congratulations to Dr. Hisham Steet on the success of the fourth edition of the Africa Health ExCon conference and exhibition, which was held from June 24 to 27 under the auspices of the President of the Republic. He commended the level of cooperation and integration between various government entities and the private sector, which was reflected in the professional organization and broad participation from African countries and international organizations. Minister Abdelatty reviewed the Ministry's efforts to boost the penetration of Egyptian pharmaceutical exports into African markets through active engagement at both bilateral and multilateral levels to open new horizons for Egyptian pharmaceutical products across the continent. He pointed to the national strategy formulated during the meetings of the Permanent Committee for Egyptian-African Relations, which aims to raise the value of Egyptian pharmaceutical exports to $5 billion by 2030. The meeting also discussed the Authority's aspiration to enhance Egypt's role in the African procurement mechanism and its efforts to position Egypt as a regional hub for African collective procurement, in support of Egypt's pivotal role in the continent's healthcare system. The discussion further touched on the potential to promote medical tourism to Egypt as a high-value area of cooperation that complements the state's efforts to provide a comprehensive healthcare model serving African brothers and sisters. At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue close coordination and to follow up on the implementation of agreed-upon strategic priorities aimed at maximizing opportunities for Egyptian pharmaceuticals in Africa and reinforcing Egypt's leadership in health security across the continent.

Ministry of Economy and Tourism signs MoU with WORKSTUDIO to strengthen partnership in circular economy and develop sustainable environmental policies
Aiming to build an integrated circular economy project in the food and textile sectors in the country. Bin Touq: The Ministry remains committed to advancing circular economy practices across the country. The new partnership is a strategic step towards consolidating the UAE's position as a leading hub for sustainable development. The Ministry of Economy and Tourism signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with WORKSTUDIO CORPORATION, a Japanese company, to develop an integrated circular economy framework aligned with the UAE Circular Economy Agenda 2031. This strategic collaboration aims to enhance the sustainable management of natural resources, reduce carbon emissions, and strengthen the UAE's transition to a sustainable national economy. The MoU signing was held in Dubai in the presence of His Excellency Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism and Chairman of the UAE Circular Economy Council, and was signed by H.E. Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry, and Kazuhiro Hara, CEO of WORKSTUDIO Corporation. H.E. bin Touq said: 'The Ministry remains committed to advancing circular economy methodologies and principles across critical sectors such as food, manufacturing, sustainable transportation and green infrastructure. This memorandum also aligns with the goals of the Year of Community 2025 by encouraging sustainable practices in various vital fields and building a cohesive, prosperous, and sustainable society.' The MoU aims to launch a project that includes developing an integrated model for the circular economy in the country, based on WORKSTUDIO's innovative system, PANECO®︎, which was developed in Japan and specializes in recycling textile and food waste in accordance with international best practices. This project supports the efficient use of resources and cost reduction by transforming textile waste into valuable materials and converting food waste into organic fertilizers. In doing so, it helps protect the environment and advance sustainable development. By adopting these innovative waste recycling solutions, the project also reduces greenhouse gas emissions associated with burning waste – an improvement over traditional methods of disposing of unused clothing and food and aligns with the national policies that encourage the recycling of organic waste. The project will focus on developing recycling facilities in the country, training national cadres, and establishing a joint coordination committee to follow up on implementation and ensure the participation of both the government and private sectors. The new project seeks to build a collaborative system that brings together production companies, consumers, and manufacturers. It encourages eco-friendly manufacturing in the country, starting from waste collection and recycling all the way to treating it in innovative ways and transforming it into new usable products. The initiative aims to facilitate the participation of investors and stakeholders from the government and private sectors to support the stages of development and expansion across all seven emirates of the country, advancing circular economic solutions throughout the UAE.
