Originally revealed as a limited-run performance SUV in 2023, the Range Rover Sport SV immediately made waves for its mix of brutal pace and high-end luxury. It features a BMW-sourced 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, producing 626 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque on overboost. The result is a 2.5-tonne SUV capable of launching from 0–60 mph in just 3.8 seconds - or 3.6 seconds in SV Black trim.This makes it the fastest and most powerful Range Rover Sport ever built, and a serious rival to the Lamborghini Urus, Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, and BMW X5 M Competition.
Carbon, Ceramics, And 6D Dynamics
Beyond the headline figures, the SV boasts serious hardware. 6D Dynamics tech uses cross-linked hydraulic dampers to reduce pitch and dive under braking and acceleration - all without traditional anti-roll bars. In SV mode, the ride height drops by 15mm for a sharper stance and flatter handling.Stopping power comes courtesy of carbon ceramic brakes, while optional 23-inch carbon wheels shave off unsprung weight. Land Rover claims they're 41% lighter than standard alloys, improving both handling and ride comfort.Inside, there's no shortage of Range Rover luxury: Body & Soul seats come with built-in haptic feedback (via SUBPAC tech), high-grade leathers, and a full suite of tech and comfort features. It's just as much a long-distance cruiser as it is a back-road bruiser.
SV Black: Murdered Out And Even Faster
For those who find the standard SV a bit too subtle, Land Rover now offers the SV Black - finished in Narvik Gloss Black with a carbon hood, black calipers, gloss black quad exhausts, and 23-inch forged wheels. Inside, buyers get Ebony Windsor leather, gloss black trim, and illuminated treadplates.Performance gets a slight bump too: the SV Black hits 180 mph and cuts the 0–60 mph time to 3.6 seconds, thanks in part to reduced weight and aero tweaks.
Verdict
With the SV now part of the full-time lineup, Land Rover is giving more buyers access to one of its most extreme performance models to date. It's no longer an invitation-only special - it's a production halo car aimed at stealing market share from the ultra-premium performance SUV crowd.It's still a 2.5-tonne luxury tank. It's still hilariously quick. And now, if you've got $200,000 burning a hole in your bank account, you can actually go and order one.

Land Rover's range-topping Defender Octa has gained an undercover new specification with the Black. Applied to the V8-powered four-wheel-drive, the new Black specification brings a range of black-finished components for an undercover, stealthy look. All cars are finished in Narvik Black as standard, while an optional matte protective film can be applied as an option. You'll find satin black paint on areas such as the front undershield and rear scuff plates, too, while the Land Rover badge on the grille is black with a darkened silver script. 2027 BMW M5 LCI Spied With Cleaner Neue Klasse Looks
Our spies on the Old Continent have caught the facelift of the G90 BMW M5, and they tell us to expect plenty of changes, and not just on the surface. The current super sedan and its wagon sibling were only introduced a year ago, but BMW is not one to withhold new technology or even new design cues for future generations. Instead, the M5's mid-cycle update, or Life Cycle Impulse, as BMW calls it, will bring with it a look inspired by the Vision Neue Klasse concept and an interior with BMW's new Panoramic iDrive system, which was previewed at the Consumer Electronics Show at the beginning of the year. The new M5 will change little about its lower front and rear fascias, but the top half of each end of the car will gain completely new lighting units. At the front, the trademark kidney grilles will frame the width of the car, with Iconic Glow illumination giving the M5 a distinctive nighttime signature. Moving backward, the hood may be slightly massaged, but the wing mirrors seem unchanged, as do most of the other body lines, including the door panels and side skirts. Interestingly, however, the roof does not appear to be made of carbon fiber or BMW's incoming plant-based alternative, and we don't see a recess down its spine as on the current M5. Recent leaks reveal that the next-generation M3 is unlikely to get a composite roof either, but perhaps BMW wants to reserve that for Competition models, as was once the case. At the back of the M5 LCI, the new taillight clusters are still placeholder units that won't be offered to customers, but their shape indicates that they won't deviate much from the current design. Future M cars are expected to have unique headlight graphics (and possibly colors), so we expect something similar at the rear. Then again, a quad-exit exhaust with a massive diffuser panel may be enough. We're not expecting much in the way of changes under the hood. The 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 hybrid powertrain will carry over, and our spies say we should not expect any increases in output (a combined 717 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque, for the record). A debut will happen sometime in 2026, possibly near the end of the year. Unfortunately, even though the M5 was just hit with a price increase for the 2026 model year, our spies say the facelift will cost around €150,000, or over $176,000. That's more than 50 grand pricier than the M5 is today, so we hope BMW can justify the extra outlay. Less weight, perhaps? We can only hope...
