Delhi Development Authority cuts commercial property charges to boost real estate
These changes are based on recommendations from a High-Level Joint Government-Industry Task Force formed by LG VK Saxena, which had flagged Delhi's uncompetitive market rates as a deterrent for developers.Alongside reforms in commercial real estate, the DDA approved land use changes in Narela to establish an education hub and a multi-sports integrated stadium.A discount scheme was also cleared for bulk flat purchases by government entities in Narela, mirroring the Apna Ghar Awaas Yojana 2025 public offer. In a residential push, the DDA launched the Premium Housing Scheme 2025 through e-auctions, offering HIG, MIG, and LIG flats and garages in areas such as Vasant Kunj, Rohini, Dwarka, and Pitampura.Additionally, Signature View Apartment residents will receive a facilitation rent during their building's reconstruction phase, ensuring their welfare is protected. These measures reflect the DDA's broader strategy of aligning real estate policies with industry inputs, deregulating processes, and making Delhi more competitive as both a commercial and residential destination.- EndsMust Watch

Want to buy a DDA flat in Vasant Kunj or Dwarka? Here's a housing scheme for you
City residents will be able to buy premium Delhi Development Authority (DDA) flats in highly sought-after localities in August after the DDA announced the launch of its Premium Housing Scheme 2025 last week following a meeting chaired by Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena. Under the scheme, DDA is offering 177 High-Income Group (HIG), Middle-Income Group (MIG) and Low-Income Group (LIG) flats at prime locations like Vasant Kunj, Dwarka, Rohini, Pitampura, Jasola, and Ashoka Pahari, among others. The flats can be purchased through an e-auction. As many as 67 car and scooter garages are also on offer in high-end areas of the National Capital. This is the fourth housing scheme launched by DDA this year. The last one was the Apna Ghar Awaas Yojana 2025, launched in May 2025, under which 7,500 flats came up for sale at Narela, Loknayak Puram, and Siraspur. The DDA offered a discount ranging from 15-25 per cent on these flats and made them open for sale on a first-come, first-serve basis. The Authority also approved a discount scheme for bulk purchase of flats by central and state government departments, organisations, undertakings, autonomous bodies, and government universities. 'As per the approval, government agencies and universities purchasing a minimum of 10 flats will be eligible for the same discount currently offered to the general public under DDA's Apna Ghar Awaas Yojana 2025, i.e. 25% on LIG flats and 15% on MIG, HIG, and EWS flats in Narela,' a statement from the agency said. This discount scheme for government organisations comes in the aftermath of DDA receiving a lukewarm response to its schemes launched at the beginning of the year – Sabka Ghar Awaas Yojana and Shramik Awaas Yojana – offering flats for purchase at heavily discounted prices in Narela to construction workers, autorickshaw drivers, and street vendors, among others.

Amit Shah reviews Delhi Master Plan 2041 with CM, officials
'Departments like the MCD and DDA have been asked to submit their feedback and suggestions. There might be discussions based on what they suggest. It is not immediately clear whether the government will send recommendations to the Centre on it,' a Delhi government official said. The DDA had submitted the draft of the MPD-2041 to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in April 2023. The plan is still pending final approval. In a post on X, Delhi PWD Minister Parvesh Verma termed the plan a 'roadmap for the coming decades of Delhi' and said it aims to balance population growth with infrastructure, environment, and employment. Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena, who also serves as the DDA chairman, had earlier approved the draft in a meeting held on February 28, 2023. He said the plan emphasises inclusive growth, sustainability, and innovation, highlighting transit-oriented development hubs, land pooling, heritage conservation, Yamuna riverfront rejuvenation, and urban regeneration as key features. The first Master Plan for Delhi was introduced in 1962 under the Delhi Development Act, 1957. Each plan is framed for a 20-year perspective and serves as a guideline for the city's planned development.

DDA schedules meeting for auction of Rohini warehouse land parcel
New Delhi: Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has scheduled a meeting with potential buyers interested in the auction of a 23-acre land parcel in Rohini, Sector 36, earmarked for extensive warehousing operations, on Wednesday. The property will be available through an annual licensing fee arrangement of Rs 17.4 crore. While DDA previously auctioned land for warehouses, this initiative represents their first foray into developing a large-scale warehousing complex. With this, DDA intends to establish facilities that will discourage individuals from buying warehouse properties in NCR regions. The property will be leased for a duration of 33 years, with the licensee bearing responsibility for development, financing, operations, and maintenance of the project as stipulated in the licence deed. "The meeting has been called to discuss the queries as we are keen to roll out the plan in a time-bound manner," said a DDA official. According to the plan, upon the termination or expiry of the licence period in accordance with the provisions of this deed, the concessionaire will need to transfer the land to the authority. "The total land will be 23.2 acres, spreading across two plots with Plot-A measuring 10.43 acres and Plot-B measuring 12.73 acres. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like An engineer reveals: One simple trick to get internet without a subscription Techno Mag Learn More Undo The concessionaire will be given 24 months, starting from the appointed date, to construct the complex," stated DDA's proposal. "Further, the site is about 8-10 km away from major commercial centres, including the Ambience Mall, Kings Mall, Crown Plaza, Metro Walk, D-Mall, Unity One, and City One, which lie in Sector 10 of Rohini and close to the Rithala metro station. It is surrounded by residential areas with a mix of plotted development, group housing projects, DDA housing complexes, etc.," stated DDA proposal, adding that it is also close to some medical facilities like Maharishi Valmiki Hospital, Devansh Hospital, among others. |
