Dhiraj MV, director of the upcoming political satire Kapata Nataka Sutradhari, announced that the film's team would give away 111 pressure cookers to lucky fans selected online. The offer? Simple: if RCB wins the IPL 2025 final, fans who send 'Jai RCB' to the film's official Instagram page stand a chance to win.
Speaking to HT.com, Dhiraj said, 'Kapata Nataka Sutradhari is India's first new-age political satire. We wanted all our promotions to carry the spirit of political campaigns — with a layer of humour.' The giveaway, he added, is part of the film's first promotional push and is designed to mirror real-world political freebies — with a cheeky nod to the ongoing cricket craze.
'Since politics and cricket are the two biggest obsessions in this country, we thought: why not merge both?' he said. 'If RCB wins tonight, the pressure cookers will go out to 111 winners — and we'll announce them on the day our film's trailer releases, June 11.'
The film, produced by VSK Cinemas, stars Abhiram Arjun in the lead. Veeresh NTA handles cinematography, Prasanna Kumar MS is in charge of the music, Murali Shankar serves as co-director, Harish Rangarav as Creative Head, and Varun Gururaj as Production Head.

Rashmika Mandanna Says She's Open To Long Shoot Hours Amid Deepika Padukone's Spirit Row: 'Personal Choice'
Last Updated: Rashmika Mandanna reacts to ongoing debate on working hours amid Deepika Padukone's exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit. The conversation around long working hours in the Indian film industry continues to grow louder—and actor Rashmika Mandanna is the latest star to weigh in. Her comments come amid a wave of reactions following reports of Deepika Padukone's alleged fallout with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga over fixed work schedules on the now-shelved Spirit. Addressing the controversy, Mandanna spoke about the importance of clear communication before signing on to a film, during an interview with Mojo Story. 'Today the whole country is debating about flexible hours, but that is for discussion amongst the teams and figuring out what works for them. It's their personal choices," she said, stressing that mutual understanding within the team is key. The Animal actor also reflected on her cross-industry experience, pointing out how shooting schedules differ across regions. 'I do work in multiple industries, like the South – Telugu, Kannada, or Tamil, where we work 9 am to 6 pm. In Hindi, it's a 9 am to 9 pm shift. I am open to both because this is what my film requires," she shared. But she didn't shy away from addressing the more extreme side of filming schedules. 'Some films you can start 9 am to 9 pm, but they carry on till the next day, so you're working like 36 hours. There are much worse scenarios happening where you are working 2-3 days without going home," Mandanna revealed. Deepika Padukone-Sandeep Reddy Vanga Spirit Controversy The issue was recently brought to the forefront after reports surfaced that Deepika Padukone opted out of Spirit due to disagreements over her request for fixed hours. Deepika, a new mother, is reportedly seeking to balance her work and personal life by reducing her working hours. This decision led to her exit from the film, which would have been her second collaboration with Prabhas after their recent project, Kalki 2898 AD. The situation sparked industry-wide discussions about actor welfare and reasonable work conditions. Following Deepika's exit, Triptii Dimri was confirmed to play a part in the film. Mandanna, who worked with Vanga on the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal, acknowledged the broader need for realistic expectations, especially in high-pressure shoots. Rashmika Mandanna was most recently seen in Kuberaa, which released on June 20. First Published:

State pulls out of Pro Govinda League even as prize amount reaches record Rs 1.5 crore
Mumbai: Sixteen local govinda teams bearing names like Nagpur Ninjas, Lucknow Panthers and Surat Titans will bid for cash prizes worth Rs 1.5 crore during this year's dahi handi festival, thanks to an IPL style bid by owners from different parts of India. However, the Maharashtra govt will no longer co-host or sponsor the event as it did during the previous two years. The organiser, Pro Govinda League, has announced its highest ever prize amount of Rs 1.5 crore for winning teams this season. The championship will be held at the NSCI Dome on Aug 7, 8 and 9. On July 5, a competitive auction was held wherein 16 govinda 'pathaks' were acquired by various team owners. Pro Govinda League was started by Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik in Thane in 2018. In 2023-24 the state govt had sponsored the event during his party peer Eknath Shinde 's tenure as chief minister. This year that partnership has ended. Organisers say the move is not linked to having a BJP CM in Devendra Fadnavis. Video from MS Dhoni's low-key 44th birthday celebrations goes viral
Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], July 7 (ANI): As expected, legendary cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni celebrated his 44th birthday in a low-key way. A video has been doing the rounds on the internet in which Dhoni can be seen cutting his birthday cake in the presence of his JSCA stadium staff in Ranchi. Captain Cool was all smiles. Lauded for his calmness under pressure and his tactical excellence, Dhoni has made a name for himself. He has given back to his country and the city of Ranchi, everything it could have asked him for. Dhoni retired from international cricket in 2020 and now plays for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), With 17,266 international runs, 829 dismissals and 538 matches across formats for India, Dhoni is widely respected. Apart from his sharp wicket-keeping skills, Dhoni pushed the envelope, contributing valuable runs. He formed a formidable middle-order with Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina. Dhoni's strongest format is the ODIs. In 350 ODIs, he scored 10,773 runs at an average of 50.57. He scored 10 centuries and 73 fifties for India, with the best score of 183*. He is India's sixth-highest scorer in ODIs (with Sachin Tendulkar at the top with 18,426 runs). The fact that he managed to score 10,000-plus runs at an average of over 50 while coming down the order makes his statistics even more astonishing. He led India in 200 ODI matches, winning 110, losing 74. Five games were tied, while 11 failed to produce a result. He has a winning percentage of 55. Dhoni has won the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 and ICC Champions Trophy 2013 for India as a skipper. Dhoni, known as Chennai Super Kings' 'Thala' (leader), played 98 T20Is for India, scoring 1,617 runs at an average of 37.60, at a strike rate of 126.13. He has two half-centuries in the format, with the best score of 56. He was the winning captain of India's ICC T20 WC 2007 winning team. 'Mahi' led India in 72 T20Is, winning 41, losing 28, one being tied and two failing to produce results. His win percentage is 56.94. Coming to his long-format career, Dhoni played 90 matches, scoring 4,876 runs at an average of 38.09. He scored six centuries and 33 half-centuries, with the best score of 224. He is the 14th-highest scorer for India in Tests. As a captain, he led India in 60 Test matches, out of which they won 27 matches, lost 18 and drew 15. With a win percentage of 45.00, he is one of India's most successful skippers across all eras. He led Team India to the number one ranking in the ICC Test Rankings. He is also the only Indian skipper to whitewash Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, doing so in the 2010-11 and 2012-13 series. Dhoni is just as reputable in franchise cricket, being the sixth-highest run-getter in IPL history, with 5,439 runs in 278 matches at an average of 38.30, including 24 fifties, at a strike rate of over 137. He has secured five IPL titles and two Champions League T20 titles with CSK, making the franchise one of the most popular entities in the sporting world, largely on the basis of his own brand and name. Crowds follow and different fan clubs chant 'Dhoni' 'Dhoni' in unison when the batting legend makes even as much as an appearance inside his dressing room, gearing up for a possible chance at batting. When Dhoni broke into the national team in 2004, nobody could have imagined the heights the then-23-year-old would go on to achieve as a wicketkeeper-batter. His quickfire stumping and catching abilities, massive sixes, and the trademark helicopter shot will no doubt stay fan favourites for generations to come. (ANI)
