The achievement builds on Saudi Arabia's earlier classification as a Tier 1 'Role-modelling' country in the 2024 Global Cybersecurity Index issued by the International Telecommunication Union, underlining the Kingdom's status as a global reference point in the field. The success reflects a deliberate national strategy that integrates cybersecurity into broader development efforts while safeguarding key sectors.
Central to this progress is the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA), which serves as the Kingdom's primary entity for regulating and enhancing cybersecurity. The NCA is tasked with protecting national interests, critical infrastructure, and government services, as well as developing frameworks, standards, and policies for the sector. Alongside the Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE), the NCA is considered a core pillar of the Kingdom's cybersecurity model.

Egypt officially launches 5G, marking a leap towards digital transformation
Egypt's Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Amr Talaat, has officially announced the launch of 5G services from the Pyramids area. During the launch ceremony, the minister emphasized Egypt's commitment to adopting global technologies and keeping pace with the latest advancements, noting that it was among the first Arab nations to join the International Telecommunication Union. He confirmed that efforts are underway to ensure telecommunications services will cover all parts of Egypt.
