After a tough 81-79 loss to the Washington Mystics on Tuesday, Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky had a quick turnaround, facing Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings on Wednesday.

The Sky had been without center Kamilla Cardoso for the past four games, as she was away representing Brazil at the 2025 FIBA Women's AmeriCup. Her team made it all the way to the final in Nicaragua but fell to the USA, 92-84.
On Wednesday night, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 draft returned to the lineup. While Cardoso didn't start, it didn't take her long to get on the board. With 2:36 left in the first quarter and the Wings leading 12-10, Cardoso caught a pass down low from Elizabeth Williams and turned around for a layup.

The Sky posted a clip of Cardoso's bucket on social media, clearly excited about her return.

"SHE'S BAAAAACK," the Sky said.
Chicago has struggled this season, entering the game with a 5-13 record. Still, having Cardoso out of the lineup was a big loss for a team trying to climb back into the playoff race.
The 6-foot-7 center came in third on the team in scoring, averaging 12.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.
Cardoso, 24, played her college basketball at South Carolina under Dawn Staley, winning two national championships and earning NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player honors in 2024. That same year, she was also named an AP Second Team All-American, first-team All-SEC and SEC Defensive Player of the Year.

American Amanda Anisimova faces Poland's Iga Swiatek in the Wimbledon women's final

Associated Press LONDON (AP) — Amanda Anisimova and Iga Swiatek both will be aiming to win Wimbledon for the first time when they meet in the women's final. Saturday's title match at Centre Court is the first for Anisimova, a 23-year-old American, at any Grand Slam tournament. Swiatek, a 24-year-old from Poland, already owns five such trophies, going 5-0 in major finals, but never had been this far on the grass courts of the All England Club. She's been the champion on the French Open's red clay four times and on the U.S. Open's hard courts once. The final is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. local time, which is 11 a.m. EDT. Swiatek is listed as the money-line favorite at -250 by BetMGM Sportsbook. Anisimova is at +210. They've never played each other as pros; Anisimova beat Swiatek in 2016 when they were juniors. Both were stars at that level: Anisimova defeated Coco Gauff for the 2017 U.S. Open junior title, while Swiatek was the Wimbledon junior champion the next year. Whoever wins Saturday will be the eighth consecutive first-time Wimbledon champion. Swiatek spent most of 2022, 2023 and 2024 at No. 1 in the WTA rankings but is seeded No. 8 at Wimbledon after going more than a year without claiming a title anywhere. She served a one-month doping ban last year after failing an out-of-competition drug test; an investigation determined she was inadvertently exposed to a contaminated medical product used for trouble sleeping and jet lag. Anisimova, who was born in New Jersey and grew up in Florida, was a semifinalist at age 17 at the 2019 French Open. She took time away from the tour a little more than two years ago because of burnout. A year ago, she tried to qualify for Wimbledon, because her ranking of 189th was too low to get into the field automatically, but lost in the preliminary event. Anisimova will break into the top 10 in the rankings for the first time next week, no matter what happens Saturday. ___ More AP tennis: in this topic

Carlos Rodon looks the All-Star part as he twirls best start of his Yankees career

Access the Yankees beat like never before Join Post Sports+ for exciting subscriber-only features, including real-time texting with Greg Joyce about the inside buzz on the Yankees. Try it free Certainly, it was an All-Star day for Carlos Rodón. Hours after it was announced that he would replace teammate Max Fried in the All-Star Game in Atlanta, the lefty had his best start as a Yankee to date. Not only did it come against MLB's highest-scoring offense — the Cubs average 5.41 runs per game — but Rodón pitched a shutout across eight innings and Scott Effross finished the job in a 11-0 Yankees victory. Rodón allowed four hits and one walk, and was saved three times by big defensive plays from Aaron Judge. 3 Carlos Rodón reacts after getting the final out of the eighth inning during the Yankees' 11-0 blowout win over the Mariners on July 11 2025. Robert Sabo for the NY Post He also tallied eight strikeouts among a season-high 109 pitches. 'Sharp is the word I would use,' manager Aaron Boone said of his starter after the game. 'He's had a really good first half for us, or however far we are now. But that was obviously right up there. I thought he was just so efficient. The strike throwing was good. I thought just the crispness to his fastball, changeup, mixed in some cutters. … Just a really dominant performance against a really good offense.' Only once did Boone visit Rodón on the mound. It came in the top of the eighth inning after he walked Michael Busch, but he stayed in the game, telling Boone, 'I have one more in me.' 3 Carlos Rodón throws a pitch during the first inning of the Yankees' July 11 win. Robert Sabo for the NY Post It was exactly what Yankees fans wanted. He soon ran into some trouble, with two runners on base with two outs, but a diving catch from Judge on a fly ball from Kyle Tucker along the right field line preserved the shutout. 'Well, Aaron Judge made three incredible plays for me, so that was part of it,' Rodón said of his outing. 'Obviously, Belli [Cody Bellinger] had three homers offensively. We swung the bat well, just gave me a cushion to be able to go out there and be in zone and attack. Defensively, we were pretty spectacular.' CHECK OUT THE LATEST MLB STANDINGS AND YANKEES STATS 3 Carlos Rodón reacts after an out in the seventh inning of the Yankees' July 11 win. Jason Szenes for the NY Post 'That was a heck of a play. That one was probably my favorite, obviously saving some runs from me,' he added. Rodón and Judge embraced after jogging off the field as the sold-out Yankees crowd erupted for their now three-time All-Star pitcher, which wasn't always the case. In his first year in pinstripes, Rodón often heard boos from the fans as he struggled to deliver clean starts. He had a 6.85 ERA in 2023. After Friday, he holds a 3.08 ERA in what was his sixth scoreless outing of the season. 'Just kind of roll with the punches. It's just one of those things. It's a part of baseball,' Rodón said. 'Sometimes, you're good. Sometimes, you're bad. You try to trend on the good line more often than not. I wasn't good when I first got here and I wanted to prove that I wasn't going to give up and just put my best foot forward and try to win as many games as I can.'
