The Weeknd is once again one of the most successful artists in the world. That's always the case, but now an important chart proves it.
The Canadian superstar recently released a new full-length, and now he's back inside the top 10 on one of Billboard's most competitive charts. He joins one of the biggest names in hip-hop, and together, they score a global hit – and The Weeknd reaches a new milestone that only a handful of artists have approached.
The Weeknd's new song 'Rather Lie' launches at No. 6 on the Billboard Global 200. The track is fronted by rapper Playboi Carti, and it's one of the highest-debuting titles on the roster that ranks the most-consumed cuts throughout the entire world, as the tally focuses on both streams and sales.
As 'Rather Lie' starts at No. 6, The Weeknd claims his fifteenth top 10 on the Billboard Global 200. That's a feat only a handful of musicians have accomplished since the chart was launched in 2020.
He becomes just the fifth act in history to land 15 top 10s on the list, joining a small but extremely successful group of artists. Drake leads all artists with 35 appearances in the top tier, while Taylor Swift follows close behind with 33. Bad Bunny has now pushed 25 cuts into the region, and 21 Savage comes in just ahead of The Weeknd, with 16.
Despite having sent 15 songs into the top 10 on the Billboard Global 200, The Weeknd has only managed to lead the tally once. 'Save Your Tears,' a collaboration with Ariana Grande, landed at No. 1 in May 2021.
Several other cuts have come close. 'Blinding Lights,' arguably his signature hit, made it to No. 2. So did 'Sacrifice' and 'Die For You,' another duet with Grande.
While 'Rather Lie' is the highest-charting collaborative debut on the Billboard Global 200 this week, it's not the biggest new arrival overall. That honor belongs to another Carti track. His solo release 'Evil Jordan' starts off at No. 4, besting even his team-up with The Weeknd. Not far below them, Chappell Roan's 'The Giver' kicks off its time on the chart at No. 10.

Justin Timberlake's Tour Sparks Wave of Viral Jokes, Memes

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Justin Timberlake's tour began in April 2024, with the singer now on its final leg. Despite being in its closing stages, the tour has begun to circulate widely on social media, with users widely meme-ifying and making jokes about Timberlake's performances. Newsweek has reached out to a representative for Timberlake outside of regular working hours via email for comment. Why It Matters Timberlake's The Forget Tomorrow World Tour is his first in five years and his seventh headlining concert tour in total. Justin Timberlake performs onstage during the 5th Lollapalooza Paris Festival on July 20, 2025 in Paris, France. Justin Timberlake performs onstage during the 5th Lollapalooza Paris Festival on July 20, 2025 in Paris, France. Lyvans Boolaky/WireImage Timberlake was arrested in June 2024 for driving while intoxicated (DWI) in Sag Harbor, New York. In September, he pleaded guilty to a noncriminal driving while impaired traffic violation and was fined and given community service. What To Know During recent appearances on the European leg of the tour, including stops in Romania and Ireland, the 10-time Grammy-winning singer is seen only singing parts of his songs in fan-captured footage. Some fans have also complained that he was arriving on stage late and amid the backlash there has been a wave of viral memes. Multiple clips of Timberlake performing the song from the Trolls soundtrack, Can't Stop The Feeling have gone viral. In one video, from a concert in Transylvania, Romania, Timberlake is shown performing with his hood up, partly singing the song and pointing his mic out to the crowd so that they could sing along. He then does the same thing for a number of other songs, failing to sing the whole songs himself. That video, which has the text overlay "Go girl give us nothing," has been viewed over 4 million times. Another video of him performing similarly at a concert in Dublin has been viewed over 18 million times. One TikTok, from the creator @90skid4lyfe, which has the text overlay "Imagine paying $500 for this type of energy at a Justin Timberlake concert in 2025," has been viewed over 20 million times. Another video, shared by the creator @snarkymarky, starts with the creator saying, "You can't do this to me, this is going to ruin the tour," with the text overlay "Justin Timberlake when he was getting arrested last year." The TikTok then cuts to a clip of @snarkymarky with the audio from the performance of Can't Stop The Feeling, and has the text overlay "The tour in question." This a reference to something that Timberlake allegedly muttered when he was arrested last year. An anonymous source told Page Six at the time that when Timberlake was arrested, he mumbled: "This is going to ruin the tour." The policeman replied "What tour?" to which Timberlake responded "The world tour." What People Are Saying @farrelhegarty posted a TikTok, viewed 7 million times, with the text overlay: "Justin Timberlake's concert interrupting his busy day." @sarcasticmommy4 wrote on X: "I wasn't even at Justin Timberlake's concert & I'd like a refund." @ladypositive, in a TikTok viewed over 750,000 times with the text overlay: "POV: Justin's concert is interrupting his breakfast." What's Next Timberlake's tour is scheduled to conclude on July 30 in Turkey.

'Happy Gilmore 2' Cameos: From Travis Kelce to Post Malone

'Happy Gilmore 2' releases on Netflix July 25, and the Adam Sandler-starring sequel is filled with familiar faces left and right. While Sandler reprises his role as the titular golfer alongside other returners Christopher McDonald as Shooter McGavin, Ben Stiller as Hal L and Julie Bowen as Virginia Gilmore, the entire film is peppered with actors, athletes, musicians, and icons both new and returning to the franchise. More from Variety Adam Sandler Remembers Cameron Boyce In Subtle 'Happy Gilmore 2' Tribute Adam Sandler's Secret Weapon: This 'Happy Gilmore 2' Writer Shaped Decades of Comedy and Earned $3 Billion at the Box Office 'Happy Gilmore 2' Launches With Tie-In Golf Video Game on Netflix From Travis Kelce playing a hotel waiter to Steve Buscemi dancing around as an eccentric neighbor, to Eminem dropping by for a bit of heckling and countless professional golfers filling each frame, here is a guide to all of the cameos throughout the new slapstick sports comedy. Benny Safdie as Frank ManateeWhile Benny Safdie's villainous role in 'Happy Gilmore 2' might be too large to be called a cameo, his appearance in the film still feels like a winking nod to cinephile audiences. Fans will know that Benny and Josh Safdie directed Sandler in the 2019 thriller 'Uncut Gems,' bringing recognition to Sandler as a dramatic actor and forging a fruitful creative collaboration. Bad Bunny as Oscar MejíasCredited as Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, rapper, singer and record producer Bad Bunny stars alongside Sandler as Oscar, Happy's new caddie. Although sometimes slow and completely oblivious to the sport of golf, Oscar has a heart of gold and Bad Bunny brings him to life with unmistakable charm. Travis Kelce as the WaiterPerhaps the most highly anticipated cameo in 'Happy Gilmore 2,' the Chiefs' tight end appears in several scenes as a brown-nosing club waiter. An antagonistic rival to Bad Bunny's character, the waiter gets his comeuppance at the end of the film with a memorable scene involving a shirtless Kelce, a jar of honey and a hungry bear. John Daly as HimselfOf all the professional golfers that appear in 'Happy Gilmore 2,' John Daly may get the most screentime (or at least the most impactful screentime). With little explanation, he shows up in the beginning of the film as a neighbor of Happy's and later moves into the house. He plays an uncle-like character in Happy's family and has stellar comedic chemistry with the rest of the cast. Ken Jennings as Himself Early in the film, Happy is surprised to see himself as an answer on an episode of 'Jeopardy.' The presence of Ken Jennings on television provides an aura of authenticity, as the game-show host provides Happy's name to his stumped contestants. Steve Buscemi as the NeighborGiven that Buscemi has previously appeared in 'Billy Madison,' 'Big Daddy' and 'Grown Ups,' among other Adam Sandler movies, it's no surprise that he pops up in 'Happy Gilmore 2.' This time, he plays a neighbor who dances on his porch and in the streets near Happy's house. It's weird and random and exactly what one would expect out of this legendary character actor. Post Malone as DJ Omar GoshDuring the film's climax, the final tournament commentators are joined by a lavishly dressed fictional celebrity called DJ Omar Gosh. He's played by actual musical artist Post Malone, who fans will undoubtedly recognize despite all his accessories. Eminem as Donald the original 'Happy Gilmore,' the late Joe Flaherty played Donald: a heckler hired to antagonize Happy by yelling 'Jackass' during his backswing. In the sequel, rapper Eminem takes up the mantle as Donald's son, who yells the same slander in a pivotal and hilarious scene. This is the second time Sandler and Eminem have shared the frame, as the two also riffed to spectacular comedic effect in 2009's 'Funny People.' Will Zalatoris as Himself / Grown-Up Blonde CaddieProfessional golfer Will Zalatoris appears as more than just himself in 'Happy Gilmore 2.' It's eventually revealed that he is the grown-up version of the young blonde caddie that Happy chokes out in the first film. Still angry with Happy for his violent outburst, Zalatoris has grown up to be a rival of Happy's on the golf course. Scottie Scheffler as HimselfAnother professional golfer who was conspicuously present throughout the story, Scottie Scheffler golfs alongside Happy up through the film's championship tournament. Framed as a partner and ally to Happy on the green, he brings a sense of realism to Happy's team. Bubba Watson as HimselfUnlike Scheffler, professional golfer Bubba Watson aligns himself with the enemy golf team in 'Happy Gilmore 2.' He's often seen sharing the screen with Haley Joel Osment's character, a golfer who's undergone an operation to enhance his swing and advance the new rival league. Seth Waugh as HimselfSeth Waugh served as CEO of the PGA for six years up through 2024. Like the athletes in the film, Waugh brings authenticity to the world of 'Happy Gilmore 2,' playing himself and overseeing the on-screen competition. Boban Marjanović as Drago LarsonIn the first 'Happy Gilmore,' giant character actor Richard Kiel played Mr. Larson, Happy's tall, intimidating, but lovable boss. Naturally, Serbian basketball player Boban Marjanović plays Larson's son, Drago, in the sequel. Standing three inches taller than Kiel at 7'3', Marjanović appears in a scene towards the end of the film for a heartfelt and humorous encounter with Happy. Guy Fieri as Tournament StarterWith frosted tips and sunglasses, Guy Fieri is unmistakable as the championship tournament starter in 'Happy Gilmore 2.' He brings his signature energy to the small part, rousing up the crowd ahead of the film's climax. Assorted Sports CommentatorsAs he was in the first 'Happy Gilmore,' real-life golf commentator Verne Lundquist returns to the sequel to announce the film's final tournament. However, he is just one of many sports commentators and analysts to grace the film. Across montages and key scenes, Stephen A. Smith, Chris Berman, and Jim Gray all appear to lend their expertise on Happy's return to the green. An Unlikely Trio of Golfers Early in the film, before Happy returns to the pros, he plays a round of golf with a group of regular people. Oddly enough, those 'regular people' are played by Eric André, Margaret Qualley and Martin Herlihy. These three sharing a scene — let alone a green — with Adam Sandler may not have been on anyone's bingo card for 'Happy Gilmore 2,' but the sequence is filled with memorable moments and laughs aplenty. Unlikely FBI PartnersAt the end of the film, a team of FBI agents raid Hal L's Alcoholics Anonymous front. Leading that team are an unlikely duo of Scott Mescudi (a.k.a. rapper Kid Cudi) and Sarah Sarandos (a.k.a. the daughter of Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos). Of all the surprise appearances in the film, this might be the least expected. The Sandler FamilyAdam Sandler is no stranger to filling his movies with his friends, but in 'Happy Gilmore 2,' he leans more into family. Both of his daughters, Sunny and Sadie Sandler, have prominent roles, the former portraying Happy's daughter Vienna Gilmore, who is his muse for returning to the golf course. Otherwise, Sandler's wife Jackie plays Vienna's dance instructor and his mother and mother-in-law also make small appearances. The Stiller FamilyAdam Sandler wasn't the only star to bring his kids into the cast of 'Happy Gilmore 2.' Ben Stiller's children Ella and Quinn both have minor roles in the film. Ella plays a liquor store cashier who Happy has a confrontation with and Quinn plays one of the caddies. NHL GuestsProfessional golfers aren't the only real-world athletes represented in 'Happy Gilmore 2.' Former NHL players Chris Chelios and Sean Avery also make appearances as a pair of henchmen. Because Happy has origins on the ice, it's only natural that the film bring in some hockey stars to play a couple intimidating goons. Copious Comedians in Bit PartsA handful of Adam Sandler regulars and other comedians come and go throughout 'Happy Gilmore 2.' Jon Lovitz shows up for a humorous scene on a driving range; Nick Swardson appears in a flashback sequence; Jim Downey plays a tournament starter; and Marcello Hernandez plays Esteban, an eccentric second to Bad Bunny's caddie who's willing to do shifty tasks for a quick buck. Also, Rob Schneider rides by during a fantasy montage, yelling his signature line, 'You can do it!' More Professional GolfersIn addition to John Daly, Scottie Scheffler, Bubba Watson and Will Zalatoris, an abundance of current and former professional golfers populate 'Happy Gilmore 2.' In scenes in the clubhouse and on the course, Jack Nicklaus, Keegan Bradley, Fred Couples, Bryson Dechambeau, Sir Nick Faldo, Tony Finau, Rickie Fowler, Jim Furyk, Sergio Garcia, Charles Howell III, Brooks Koepka, Hunter Mahan, Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, Corey Pavin, Xander Schauffele, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Lee Trevino and Charley Hull all appear as themselves. In MemoriamLastly, 'Happy Gilmore 2' pays homage to its predecessor. While many clips and characters from the original film appear in flashbacks, Carl Weathers' Chubbs, Frances Bay's Grandma Gilmore, and Bob Barker all get nods in a scene where Happy and Shooter cross paths at a cemetery. Given that the actors who portrayed these three staples of the first film are all deceased, highlighting their characters' names on their respective tombstones provides them a pointed sendoff. Obscure Old TV Shows No One Remembers

Recently, I rounded up some forgotten '90s TV shows, and there were some hidden gems in there! In the comments, BuzzFeed Community members of all ages shared obscure series from their childhoods. Here are 50 of their top responses: "Thirtysomething. Huge hit in the late '80s/early '90s. Literally so forgotten it isn't even streaming anywhere. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that it's about young boomers who have huge houses, kids, and high-paying jobs, and yet do nothing but complain about middle age and how they have to sell out to succeed. I doubt a single person could relate to it today. It was also kinda sexist. The women who were well-adjusted were the stay-at-home moms, and the independent working women had all the psychological issues." —colleend9 "Black Hole High (or if you were in the States, like me, it was Strange Days at Blake Holsey High). It was about a group of science-loving kids at a Canadian boarding school with a wormhole under their school, and they have to figure out what the local evil guy (and dad of one of the kids) wants with it. It has a surprisingly complex myth arc for a children's show, and a good twist near the end. I loved that show. It's streaming on a few different platforms in the US, including Prime." —lobster_lemon_lime "It appears that no one remembers Girlfriends. I always wanted to get Converse because of Persia White's character." —alice_follows_the_white_rabbit "Bosom Buddies had Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari. I can't recall why, but the aforementioned actors disguised themselves as women." [Note: The two male leads disguised themselves so they could live in an affordable female-only apartment building.] —pissedoffprofessor "What I Like About You. Most people forget that Amanda Bynes and Jennie Garth were on a sitcom together for four seasons on The WB." —smellyunicorn211 "There was a show on Disney Channel called The Jersey, and it was a sports show. I think it transported the wearer into the body of a pro athlete, like they were playing in the Super Bowl." —ashlucky5 "Small Wonder was a comedy science fiction about a robotics engineer and his family. He secretly builds a robot that looks like a human girl, and they disguise her as their adopted daughter, Vicki." —grouchytoaster7815 "The Young Riders. I was madly in love with every single one of those boys at 11 years old. Actually, when I was a kid, I was a huge Civil War nerd (I still am, but not to the extent I was then), and that show's time frame, being right before the Civil War, made me even more interested in it. I still see that baby face every time I see Josh Brolin in anything. He and Stephen Baldwin were my favorites." —scorp599211 "How about Fifteen (aka Hillside in Canada)? Nickelodeon's version of 90210. Damn near a Canadian copy." —rebekahj6 "There was also a show on Nickelodeon called Fifteen that I still think I might have dreamed because no one remembers it." —vividavocado85 "A Mary-Kate and Ashley forgotten gem — So Little Time!" —emilyv11 "I have something really obscure for you guys. There was this TV show in the '90s about a guy who was a journalist, and then he gets fired but decides to reapply to the same newspaper, but now dressed up as a woman. It lasted for a season. The name of the TV show was Ask Harriet." —kpride895 "Dark Shadows had a brief reboot in 1991, which was good but unintentionally funny for various scenes, like when one female lead named Victoria was transported back in time. She ended up being suspected as a witch because of the tags in her clothing, which had symbols for stuff like dry clean only or iron on low." —henrylovedog "There's the Beverly Hills, 90210 spinoff show The Heights. Most people recall the song ('How Do You Talk To An Angel') but not the actual show." —henrylovedog "A sci-fi show with Lori Singer — VR.5. It's about a telephone lineworker who can enter a type of virtual reality, where she can interact with other people." —radpotato92 "One show I've never seen on these lists is Sisters. It was a great series with an amazing cast!" —happypumpkin137 "There was a New Kids on the Block cartoon (they had a random dog sidekick instead of a more believable roadie)." —justjen0178 "No one I know seems to remember the show Wake, Rattle, and Roll. The theme song is my morning alarm. 😬" —tcfranco "Kidd Video, anyone? '80s cartoon where a live-action band got transported into a cartoon universe called the Flipside. Popular songs of the day were played throughout the episodes, and the band would have one of their own music videos towards the end. I freakin' loved it." —laughingclown4451 "Way back in 1990, Carol Burnett came out with a series — Carol & Company. It was a great concept. This was a sitcom. Every week, Carol Burnett and the cast would play different characters in different cities. The people and places in the current week's episode were not the same people and places in last week's episode." —cutepenguin77 "Can't Hurry Love. I was only 6 when it was on the air, but I definitely remember it. It was kind of a Friends-type of show, but MUCH better. Mariska Hargitay? Yes, please!!!" —peacefulpotato62 "Our Hero. It's about a girl who was trying to be a blogger before YouTube, LOL. She was making a hand-drawn magazine about her day-to-day life. Loved it." —liraelkl "As a tween, I remember the show Herman's Head. It definitely inspired the recent movie Inside Out, but it was tongue-in-cheek, raunchy, and hilarious!" —clevertable50 "Ok, Sports Night. I might literally be the only person who remembers. Imagine if Aaron Sorkin wrote about a fictional ESPN (he did)." —silkytortoise5038 "One of my favorite shows no one remembers is The Odyssey. It's about a boy who falls into a coma, but he ends up in a fantasy world in his mind and tries to get back. Ryan Reynolds is the antagonist. I loved this show very much, but people don't remember it." —liraelkl "Ghostbusters the cartoon (The Real Ghostbusters). I'd fake sick to stay home and watch it." —progamer795 "Dark Skies starring Eric Close, Megan Ward, and J. T. Walsh. 'History as we know it is a lie.'" —dizzytrash587 "This one is from the '80s. USA Network had an all-night variety show. It was called Night Flight. Nobody remembers that." —grouchylight4345 "I always come to these looking to see if anyone else remembers Seven Days — a show about a CIA agent who goes back in time seven days to prevent bad things from happening." —sparklylion861 "Does ANYONE remember What-a-Mess? I just had to Google to make sure it wasn't some weird false memory I'd created, LOL." —emilyv11 "100 Deeds for Eddie McDowd, where he gets turned into a dog and has to do 100 good deeds before getting turned back..." —larisadavis "Dangerous Women was 🔥. Casper Van Dien was in it." —odddog14 "Strange Empire. It was a Canadian show full of cool female leads set in the plains, I think, circa the passing of the 'Indian Act' in 1876. It seemed like there were some really interesting storylines emerging about Indigenous people and women before it got cancelled." —deadpanship144 "My Secret Identity! Starring a young Jerry O'Connell." —jim9219771 "I badly miss Doctor Doctor! It's not streaming anywhere either, and it doesn't appear to have ever gotten a home video release, so unless you taped it when it was on, you can't watch it at all now. 😠" —toothlessfeline "Psi Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal, which was a Dan Aykroyd show. They changed much of the cast after Season 1, and Matt Frewer became the star, with Michael Moriarty." —dizzytrash587 "How about Battle Creek with Dean Winters ('Mayhem' in insurance commercials)? Great show that was canceled too soon." —silkytree253 "Now, who else watched Andy Richter Controls the Universe?" —oddrocket298 "Spyder Games was one I feel like NO ONE talks about that was on MTV." —cherielovee "Popular! Whenever I bring it up, no one else has any clue what I'm talking about. It had an amazing cast — Leslie Bibb, Carly Pope, Sara Rue, and Leslie Grossman!" —denaet "I'm a fan of the forgotten cartoon Cybersix, based on the Argentinian comic about an android who fights crime at night in black leather and disguises herself as a male high school teacher during the day. Only lasted one season." —five_star "I loved a show called Second Noah. I think it got two seasons, and I've never met anyone other than my sister who watched it." —vividavocado85 "Roar, with a young Heath Ledger and Vera Farmiga. It was an Aussie show that was broadcast in the US. It only aired for one season. I was obsessed and had the hugest crush on Heath. It's set in fifth-century Ireland and the conflict between the Celts and the invading Romans with fantasy elements. It was cheesy but fun, and not as ridiculous as Hercules with Kevin Sorbo." —amandac4b39f8d18 "Does anyone remember a show called Homefront? Set right after WWII ended, and the boys were coming home. Only two seasons, but it was so good!" —jwilliams5041311 "Does anyone remember Alien Nation? It was based on the movie, but way better. Unfortunately, it only lasted one season and ended on a cliffhanger." —smileydragon76 "Punky Brewster the cartoon (It's Punky Brewster). Used to air on Saturday mornings. No one ever remembers that show." —casualmug964 "Anyone out there remember The World of David the Gnome?! My husband and I have talked about it a hundred times, but I swear we're the only people who seem to have seen it." —fionaelkins82 "Headbangers Ball on MTV, hosted by Riki Rachtman, was tight!!" —elsag1 "This reminds me of a show called The Tribe from New Zealand. It was about a bunch of teenagers in a post-apocalyptic world following a plague that killed off all adults." —pbbt "I miss Talk Soup but with John Henson, which led me to love all those VH1 commentary shows in the early 2000s like the I Love the '70s and Best Week Ever. I miss my pop culture snark shows." —lilpeas35 And finally: "There was an Australian show that aired in Canada called The Girl From Tomorrow about a teen girl who travels back in time. She has this headband thing called a Transducer that allows her to control things. I'm not Australian, so if that show is still remembered there, Aussies, LMK." —five_star Are there any super weird "forgotten" shows you remember from decades ago?
