No more Reputation Taylor's Version—Taylor Swift backs away from ‘Reputation' re-recording, fans accuse her of stalling

Taylor Swift
has finally confessed why Reputation (Taylor's Version) is nowhere in sight — and her reasons are stirring debate. In a surprising admission, she revealed she's barely started the re-recording, calling the album too raw to revisit.
Swifties are split: is it artistic integrity, or emotional avoidance?
Taylor Swift opens up about delay in 'Reputation (Taylor's Version)' and shares update on
debut album re-recording
Taylor Swift has finally broken her silence about the much-anticipated Reputation (Taylor's Version) — and her reasons for the delay are more personal than fans might have expected. In a heartfelt letter to her fans released on May 30, Swift shared a major milestone in her music career: she now owns all of her recordings after buying them back from Shamrock Capital.
'I can't thank you enough for helping to reunite me with this art that I have dedicated my life to, but never owned until now,' she wrote, celebrating her long-fought battle for artistic ownership.
Why Reputation TV hasn't dropped yet — and it's not what fans expected
For fans eagerly awaiting Reputation (Taylor's Version), Swift offered full transparency: 'I haven't even re-recorded a quarter of it.' She admitted that revisiting the emotional weight behind her 2017 album has been challenging.
'The Reputation album was so specific to that time in my life, and I kept hitting a stopping point when I tried to remake it,' she explained. Swift went on to say, 'To be perfectly honest, it's the one album in those first 6 that I thought couldn't be improved upon by redoing it.
Not the music, or photos, or videos. So I kept putting it off.'
This confession puts the brakes on fan theories about an imminent 'Debutation' — a term coined by Swifties for the joint release of Reputation TV and Taylor Swift TV, her debut album re-recording.
While neither release appears to be coming soon, Swift did confirm that her debut album is fully re-recorded and 'I really love how it sounds now.'
A vault full of promise and a shift in tone moving forward
Swift teased that unreleased vault tracks from Reputation may still see the light of day: 'There will be a time (if you're into the idea) for the unreleased Vault tracks from that album to hatch.' But this time, she emphasizes, any release won't come from a place of longing or sadness.
'It will just be a celebration now.'
Her journey has already changed the music industry, inspiring artists to push for ownership of their masters. 'Every time a new artist tells me they negotiated to own their master recordings... I'm reminded of how important it was for all of this to happen.'

'She will forever be furious': Taylor Swift ends friendship with Blake Lively after lawsuit drama, leans on Travis Kelce for comfort
Taylor Swift has ditched Blake Lively with no way back for friendship (Getty Images) What was once one of Hollywood's most adored friendships has reportedly come to a dramatic end. Taylor Swift and Blake Lively, once inseparable on vacations, red carpets, and NFL game nights, are no longer on speaking terms. According to a revealing Page Six report, the collapse of their relationship stems from a $400 million lawsuit involving Blake's It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni — and Swift is now leaning on her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, for support during the fallout. Taylor Swift distances from Blake and It Ends With Us while finding peace with Travis Kelce The legal dispute exposed private texts where Blake Lively referred to Taylor Swift and Ryan Reynolds as her 'dragons,' comparing herself to Khaleesi from Game of Thrones. This comment — made in the context of her legal dispute — reportedly outraged Swift, who felt blindsided and misrepresented. 'She will forever be furious at how Blake quite clearly was using her for clout and leverage in her dealings with Justin,' a source close to Swift told Page Six. 'She really hates that Blake would even think like that, let alone write the things she did in that text.' While Swift had previously licensed her song My Tears Ricochet for the film's soundtrack, she never promoted the movie — even before the legal mess surfaced. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với sàn môi giới tin cậy IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo Sources say that wasn't by accident. Swift reportedly saw the friendship as casual and low-pressure, not one where she'd be expected to get involved in someone else's legal fight. 'The truth is, the text wasn't even accurate,' the insider said. 'That's not the kind of friendship they ever had—Taylor would never think of herself as Blake's 'dragon.'' Amid the public drama, insiders say Swift has found grounding and reassurance in her romance with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. The couple, who've become one of pop culture's most watched pairs, have been spending more time together during Swift's Eras Tour breaks. 'Travis has been a calming presence for Taylor,' one entertainment insider shared privately. 'She's leaned on him throughout this entire fallout with Blake. He gets the pressure she's under and doesn't ask anything from her except honesty and time.' 'They were baking pals, travel pals, home decor pals… and to be totally honest, billionaire pals,' the source added. 'It was nice to be with someone else who 'gets it'.' Now, with the friendship fractured and the legal dust settling, Swift is said to be moving forward with a smaller, tighter circle — one where trust isn't just assumed, but earned. 'Taylor buries hatchets but keeps maps of where she put them,' the source added, quoting Swift's lyric from End Game. Matty Healy calls himself 'best songwriter'; takes playful swipe at Taylor Swift: 'I'm being sincere'
During The 1975's latest headline show, Matty Healy called himself a 'generational wordsmith' and seemed to poke fun at Taylor Swift 's album 'The Tortured Poets Department'. In his usual cheeky style, the 36-year-old musician used a bit of trademark stage humour at the Glastonbury Festival in England on Friday, 27 June. He set the mood for his band's hit song 'Chocolate' by flashing gibberish lyrics on the festival's main screen. According to a video by Variety, Healy told the crowd before the song, 'I want to be sincere for a second with everybody. What this moment is making me realise is that, yeah… what this moment's making me realise is that, and I'm being sincere, I probably am the best.' Joking about being a poet 'I'm probably the best songwriter of my generation. The best, what do we say, a poet, ladies and gentlemen, is what I am,' Healy added, with a clear hint of sarcasm. 'Generational wordsmith. I just wanted to remind you, you know, in the next couple of minutes, these lyrics, this poetry, I bleed for you. Alright? Just take that in, alright? Take it away, boys.' The band then launched into 'Chocolate', with the crowd laughing along at the nonsense subtitles. According to the Daily Mail, Healy later told fans he was 'only joking about being a poet'. A subtle nod to Taylor Swift? This comes more than a year after Swift put out 'The Tortured Poets Department', which included songs about her brief time with Healy. Tracks like 'Guilty as Sin?', 'Fresh Out the Slammer', 'I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)', and 'loml' seemed to touch on their short romance. The two dated for a few weeks in 2023 before splitting in June. A source told PEOPLE at the time their relationship was 'always casual'. Swift moved on with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, while Healy is now engaged to model Gabbriette Bechtel, after announcing it in June 2024. More music and surprise returns at Glastonbury Elsewhere in their Glastonbury set, The 1975 performed hits like 'Somebody Else', 'It's Not Living (If It's Not with You)', 'Give Yourself a Try', and 'About You'. The festival's other big acts include Olivia Rodrigo on Sunday, 29 June, and Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts on Saturday, 28 June. Friday's gig was The 1975's first since wrapping up their 'Still… at Their Very Best' tour in March. Meanwhile, two years after he struggled to finish his 2023 Glastonbury set due to his Tourette's syndrome, Lewis Capaldi made a surprise return to the stage. The singer told fans it was 'so good to be back' and joked 'second time's a charm'.

Taylor Swift's ex Matty Healy calls himself ‘the best poet'; seemingly mocks the singer onstage
Taylor Swift makes her songs about love and heartbreak with sharp jabs at her exes, but can she handle it when the tables turn? Matty Healy, was recently performing at Glastonbury 2025 when he suddenly paused mid-performance and threw a line into the air that left fans stunned. The 1975 frontman seemingly referenced The Tortured Poets Department, Swift's album announced during her 14th Grammy win, which famously nods to several exes, including Healy, who she briefly dated. A clip of the moment, posted on Variety's X account, has since gone viral. And just like that, fans knew exactly who he was talking about. The performance marked the band's only major one of 2025. He told the crowd, 'I want to be sincere for a second with everybody,' before adding, 'What this moment is making me realise is that, and I'm being sincere, I probably am the best.' He then called himself a 'generational wordsmith,' a phrase quite similar to Taylor's lyrical themes in TTPD. Matty Healy pretends to choke up during the 1975's #Glastonbury set and calls himself 'the world's greatest songwriter.' — Variety (@Variety) June 27, 2025 Taylor Swift's 2024 album The Tortured Poets Department is widely known to have been inspired by her time with Healy. The two were rumoured to be dating from March to May in 2023. However, according to many in the industry, unlike some of her other exes, Swift has no bad blood with the singer — she believed he was one of the most sincere among them. Still, when the album dropped, fans pointed out tracks like Guilty As Sin, The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived, and I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can) all seemed to throw punches at Healy, and now, it looks like the table has turned. Fans at the concert even shouted Swift references during his speech, and the internet is flooded with reactions pointing out the obvious: Matty was 'responding' to being roasted in her lyrics. Also read: Syrian teen charged for plot to attack Taylor Swift Vienna concert Taylor and Matty dated right after the Lover singer's breakup with Joe Alwyn. For a hot second, the duo were inseparable. Matty showed up at nearly every Eras Tour stop he could, was seen hanging out with Swift's closest friends and collaborators, including Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley, and even joined her at NYC's Electric Lady Studios. But the romance was short-lived. Swifties urged the Blank Space crooner to call it off, pointing to Matty's past, from controversial interviews to problematic comments. In the end, insiders blamed their split on 'incompatibility and busy schedules,' though many believed there was more under the surface. When Swift dropped TTPD last year, fans instantly connected the dots — lyrics about a guy who 'used typewriters, smoked cigarettes and ate chocolate' and someone she tried to 'fix' were hard to ignore. Matty, on the other hand, stayed silent, until now. After their breakup, Taylor Swift moved on with NFL star Travis Kelce. The duo started dating last summer and are going strong, with wedding rumours in the air. Meanwhile, Matty got engaged to model Gabbriette Bechtel in June 2024. She was seen cheering him on at Glastonbury, alongside his mom, actress Denise Welch.
