File Photo by Greg Grudt/UPI | License Photo July 25 (UPI) -- Disney+ is previewing the sophomore season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, which arrives on the streamer Dec. 10. A trailer released Thursday at San Diego Comic-Con shows Percy (Walker Scobell) and Annabeth (Sava Jeffries) getting ready to face a "sea of monsters." Season 2 is based on the second book in the Rick Riordan series, and follows Percy's quest to find Grover (Aryan Simhadri), a press release states. "With help from Annabeth, Clarisse (Dior Doogjohn) and his newfound cyclops half-brother Tyson (Daniel Diemer), Percy's survival is crucial in the fight to stop Luke (Charlie Bushnell), the Titan Kornos and their impending plan to bring down Camp Half-Blood -- and ultimately Olympus," an official synopsis reads. Riordan, who also created the show, said via video message at Comic-Con that Levi Chrisopulos will portray Nico in Season 3, while Olive Abercrombie will portray Bianca. The characters are the demigod children of Hades. Production on Season 3 will begin soon.

San Diego Comic-Con is finally here, and Entertainment Weekly is giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at all the festivities. All convention long, EW will be livestreaming exclusive video interviews with the cast and creators of beloved film and television shows, including Percy Jackson & the Olympians, Lilo & Stitch, and Avatar: The Last Airbender. Fans eager to catch all of the action can tune into the livestream when it begins Thursday at 1:15 p.m. PT on Entertainment Weekly's YouTube channel. You can also watch the broadcast below. Disney+'s Percy Jackson and the Olympians made quite a splash at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday. As part of a Hall H panel attended by cast members Walker Scobell (who plays Percy), Leah Sava Jeffries (Annabeth Chase), Aryan Simhadri (Grover Underwood), Charlie Bushnell (Luke Castellan), Dior Goodjohn (Clarisse La Rue) and Daniel Diemer (Tyson), plus executive producers Jonathan E. Steinberg, Dan Shotz and Craig Silverstein, it was announced by EP/novelist Rick Riordan that Season 2 has a release date of Wednesday, Dec. 10.
