'Now You See Me' is back after almost a decade. Here's what to know about the third film of the heist franchise.

The "Now You See Me" franchise is back nine years after the second film was released.
"Now You See Me, Now You Don't" continues the story of a secret organization of magicians, called the Four Horsemen, who pull off seemingly impossible heists and take down criminals.
The two previous films did reasonably well for a studio movie at the box office, each making over $300 million worldwide. The first film, released in 2013, performed better than its 2016 sequel.
Jon Feltheimer, the CEO of Lionsgate, which produces and distributes the "Now You See Me" franchise, told analysts on a conference call about quarterly earning in 2015 that a third film was in the works, Variety reported.
The project did not pick up steam until last year, following a trend of major studios relying more on remakes or sequels to attract audiences to theaters.
"Now You See Me, Now You Don't" will be released in theaters on November 14, a week before the highly anticipated " Wicked" sequel, which could impact the heist film's box office performance.
Isla Fisher returns to the 'Now You See Me' franchise, alongside new actors
Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and Dave Franco starred in the first film as four talented magicians — J. Daniel Atlas, Merritt McKinney, Henley Reeves, and Jack Wilder — who join a mysterious organization called the Eye and form the Four Horsemen.
Fisher wasn't in "Now You See Me 2" — she was pregnant when it was filmed — but she is back for the third film, alongside Harrelson, Eisenberg, Franco, and Morgan Freeman, who plays Thaddeus Bradley, the leader of the Eye.
Lizzy Caplan, who played Lulu in "Now You See Me 2" and replaced Fisher's character Henley as the fourth Horseman, has not been cast in the third film.
Mark Ruffalo, who played the Four Horsemen's mastermind, Dylan Rhodes, is also notably absent from the third movie's cast.
Rosamund Pike has joined the franchise to play Veronika Vanderberg, the head of a global criminal network. Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Ariana Greenblatt play a new group of magicians who Eisenberg's character recruits to the Eye.
The trailer for 'Now You See Me, Now You Don't' hints that the old guard and the new magicians will work together
A trailer, released on Tuesday, gives the first hints at the plot of the third film.
Daniel recruits three magicians to take down Veronika's criminal empire. He tells the magicians he doesn't want to work with the other Horsemen because they are "dead" to him, but Henley, Jack, and Meritt show up to help anyway.
Thaddeus appears to be leading the Eye despite handing over the reins of the organization to Dylan in the final scene of "Now You See Me 2."
Variety reported that Adam Fogelson, Lionsgate's motion picture group chair, said at CinemaCon in April that a fourth "Now You See Me" movie is in development. The third film may end with a tease for the next installment in the franchise.
Ruben Fleischer directed the third film and will direct the fourth, too.

From ‘South Park' to George Lucas' First Comic-Con: Inside the Most Anticipated Panels

Usually, not having a Marvel Studios panel signals a less than exciting convention. There's less rock-star energy and less hyped-up news (like last year's Robert Downey Jr. reveal as Doctor Doom). But even with Marvel sitting out this year's Comic-Con, the lineup is still surprisingly robust. (The below presentations all will appear in Hall H.) South Park (July 24, 6:45 p.m.) Creators Trey Stone and Matt Parker don't mince words, and with the panel coming amid their $3 billion battle over the future of South Park, fans are hoping for some grousing about Skydance, the presumptive soon-to-be owner of Paramount they have blamed for holding up season 27. More from The Hollywood Reporter George Lucas Heading to Comic-Con for First Time Ever Comic-Con: Fashion Brand Her Universe Partners With Universal Pictures for 'Wicked'-Themed Geek Couture Competition (Exclusive) Joe Russo Says Robert Downey Jr. Is Researching and "Writing Backstory" for Doctor Doom Role: "He Is So Dialed In" The Long Walk (July 25, 3 p.m.) The stacked cast of up-and- comers, including Cooper Hoffman and Alien: Romulus breakout David Jonsson, could make it The Outsiders of this generation. But the real reason to attend is to see how Lionsgate will position the film, which has subject matter so controversial — a contest in which men must walk at least 4 miles an hour or be shot — that New Line gave up the rights to the Stephen King novel several years ago. Alien: Earth (July 25, 1:25 p.m.); Predator: Badlands (July 25, 4:15 p.m.) After years of being considered second-rate properties, both are back on the upswing thanks to the 2022 Hulu hit Prey and last year's Alien: Romulus. Now, Predator returns to Hall H with Prey director Dan Trachtenberg's next venture, while Alien has the splashy Noah Hawley show. Parent company Disney is all over the con, bringing Jared Leto's Tron: Ares to Hall H at 5:30 p.m. July 25. Star Trek Universe (July 26, 12:30 p.m.) Paramount+ brings the original geek property for its customary blockbuster 90-minute panel featuring the upcoming Starfleet Academy live-action series and the fan favorite Strange New Worlds. It could be particularly poignant as that series was recently revealed to be ending. Project Hail Mary (July 26, 2:15 p.m.) Ryan Gosling returns to Comic-Con for the first time in nearly a decade, this time bringing his big-swing sci-fi epic. The movie also marks Spider-Verse favorites Phil Lord and Chris Miller's first directorial effort since 2014. Peacemaker (July 26, 3:30 p.m.) James Gunn arrives for a Superman victory lap to preview season two of his series. George Lucas (July 27, 11 a.m.) The Star Wars mastermind, shockingly, has never been to the con. That changes this year when he's joined by filmmaker Guillermo del Toro and Star Wars prequels production designer Doug Chiang for a sneak peek at the new Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. Saturday brings twists of country to the Newport Folk Festival

Heather Diehl/For The Boston Globe Their performance Saturday concentrated on songs from their latest record, 'Keep Me on Your Mind/See You Free,' along with a couple of older favorites. All of it served to display the band's singular sensibility as well as the marvelous twining harmonies produced by Johnson and the third Horseman, Anaïs Mitchell. Advertisement With his recent debut solo release, 'American Romance,' Lukas Nelson is touring under his own name, and so he came back to Newport in a new guise, without his long-running band Promise of the Real. That new guise leaned country, from the short back-and-sides and the cowboy hat Nelson sported, to the songs he played, and it brought a lot of looking back. He started with the first song he ever wrote, at age 11, the fiddle and steel-filled 'You Were It.' He prefaced 'Just Outside Of Austin' by saying 'let's go home,' and he sounded like he was channeling dad Willie Nelson's voice and guitar as he sang and played it. Later, he tacked a run-though of Willie's classic 'Bloody Mary Morning' onto his own 'Ladder of Love.' He ended with the title song from his new album, a song inspired by the life he lived coming of age on the road with his father. Katie Crutchfield, in the guise of her Waxahatchee project, has also been doing something new of late, exploring country-folk territory with her elliptical lyrics and her remarkable, off-kilter vocal style on her latest LP, 'Tigers Blood.' The bulk of what she played Saturday came from that record, along with one ('Problem With It') from Given that several of the songs on the new record are also evocative of Bob Dylan, it seemed apropos to be hearing them at Newport in the wake of last year's Dylan biopic, Advertisement Waxahatchee performs at the Fort stage in Fort Adams State Park on the second day of the Newport Folk Festival. Heather Diehl/For The Boston Globe What was new about He sang seated for most of the set; his band was more acoustic, and more dialed back (until he brought it home by going electric) and he featured songs from the understated acoustic 'Fathers & Sons' project that he released last year (one of them, 'Whoever You Turn Out to Be,' written about and for his sons, caused the heart-on-his-sleeve Combs to choke up mid-song). Fans enjoy Waxahatchee's performance during the second day of the Newport Folk Festival. Heather Diehl/For The Boston Globe He added a couple of covers, too: Darrell Scott's deep-holler lament 'You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive,' and, yes, 'The Times They Are A-Changin'' (his version following Keb' Mo's, Combs noted). If at the end of the day, much of what we heard still sounded a lot like the mainstream country world from which it came, Combs attempted to fit what he did to where he was, and he largely succeeded. Great New Trailer For Stephen King's THE LONG WALK and First 20 Minutes Previewed at Comic-Con — GeekTyrant

Lionsgate brought some intense energy to Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con with a brand-new trailer for The Long Walk , giving fans their first look at the highly anticipated Stephen King adaptation and you can watch tyhat trailer for yourself below! We also got an exclusive screening of the first 20 minutes, and it's as brutal and gripping as you'd expect. I've been incredibly excited for this movie, and it looks like it's going to deliver a very intense and emotional experience. The legendary Stephen King introduced the clip via video message, reminding fans of the story's dark roots while making a point to note how far ahead of its time this concept really was: 'It's got some hard bark on it.' Based on King's 1979 dystopian novel, The Long Walk takes place in a fractured America where entertainment is a deadly sport. The event is simple but chilling: 50 teenage boys walk nonstop. Drop below three miles per hour, and you're dead. There's no resting, no stopping, only walking. The last survivor wins a prize of their choice. The film stars Cooper Hoffman ( Licorice Pizza ) and David Jonsson ( Alien: Romulus ), with Mark Hamill ( Star Wars ) stepping into the role of a relentless military figure. The cast also includes Tut Nyuot, Garrett Wareing ( Ransom Canyon ), Charlie Plummer ( Looking for Alaska ), Ben Wang ( Karate Kid: Legends ), Roman Griffin Davis, Jordan Gonzalez, Joshua Odjick, Josh Hamilton, and Judy Greer. In the trailer, Charlie Plummer's character delivers a haunting line: 'The only guarantee you have as a human is that you're going to die. And if you're lucky, you get to choose how you'll spend those last moments.' What follows is an unflinching look at the competition's brutality. Dead animals line the roadside. One boy collapses as he gets a cramp and can't keep walking, falling to the ground, soldiers closing in with rifles drawn before a gunshot echoes. Jonsson's Pete admits, 'I keep hoping that part will get easier,' to which Hoffman's Raymond replies, 'That's what I'm afraid of.' Then comes Hamill's Major, staring down the young competitors: 'I look at each and every one of you, and I see hope.' During the panel, Hamill opened up about channeling the film's imposing antagonist, pulling inspiration from his childhood on a naval base in Japan. 'I knew exactly who [my character] is because I saw him firsthand,' Hamill said, recalling officers forcing soldiers to push through exhaustion until they vomited, and then made them eat it. 'The premise of the film itself is so off-putting. I don't know if I could see this movie. Much less be in it, but what happened was I read JT's script and the novel and saw the real heart and soul of the movie — which is the experience of the Walkers in these extraordinary circumstances. And I was blown away.' The footage teases a growing bond, and rivalry, between Raymond and Pete as they are sharing this intense experience. 'This is my chance to change things,' Raymond says at one point, before Hoffman delivers the line: 'Every moment matters. Especially at the end.' Francis Lawrence ( The Hunger Games films) directed the adaptation from a script by JT Mollner, who promised to keep King's raw and terrifying tone intact. Lawrence also popped in via video message with Ben Wang, currently shooting Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The Long Walk hits theaters on September 12, 2025, making it the second Stephen King adaptation of the year following The Life of Chuck , which also features Hamill alongside Tom Hiddleston.
