Ammon News - The Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee, chaired by MP Dina Basheer, met on Monday with Spanish Ambassador Miguel de Lucas Gonz?lez to discuss ways to strengthen Jordanian-Spanish relations, particularly in parliamentary affairs.
Basheer underscored the deep ties and close coordination between Jordan and Spain on regional and international issues of common interest.
She stressed the importance of expanding cooperation in trade, education, and culture, as well as promoting religious tourism to the Baptism Site and other Christian pilgrimage destinations.
On His Majesty King Abdullah II's recent address before the European Parliament in Strasbourg, Basheer called it "a historic milestone" in which he reaffirmed Jordan's unwavering support of the Palestinian cause.
Lawmakers, members of the committee, commended Madrid's support of Jordan and advocacy for a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East. They called for broader cooperation in renewable energy, free trade and customs as well as closer ties between the chambers of commerce and industry in both countries to achieve common economic goals.
The MPs also noted European Union support for Jordan, stressing support for the firm positions of the Kingdom amid escalating regional challenges.
The Spanish envoy stressed the strong Jordanian-Spanish relations, noting that His Majesty's recent visit to Spain has further solidified their strategic partnership. He described the King's Speech in Strasbourg as a clear message that a two-state solution is vital for regional stability and lasting peace.

The campaign noted that its teams, in coordination with JHCO, bake hundreds of flour sacks daily, distributing bread free of charge to families in various locations, particularly in Al-Mawasi, which has become a refuge for thousands of displaced individuals. These relief efforts are taking place amid dire humanitarian conditions, including border closures, severe shortages of food supplies, and soaring prices. Activist Noor Al-Najjar, the Jordanian Campaign's representative in Gaza, expressed deep appreciation for Jordan's continuous support of the Palestinian people. She extended her gratitude to His Majesty King Abdullah II and Crown Prince Al Hussein for their unwavering efforts over the past two years to assist Palestinians both in the north and south of the Strip.

Ammon News - The members of the Board of Commissioners of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) took the legal oath of office on Tuesday before Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan, following a Royal Decree approving the Cabinet's decision to appoint them. The oath-taking ceremony was conducted in accordance with Article 13 of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Law No. (32) of 2000. Deputy Chairman of the Board of Commissioners Karima Al-Dabet, and members Moatasem Al-Hindawi, Nidal Al-Auran, Thabet Al-Nabulsi, and Mohammad Abu Omar took the legal oath. The ceremony was attended by Minister of State for Prime Ministry Affairs Abdullah Adwan and Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority Shadi Majali.
