Sydney Sweeney reportedly backed by Jeff Bezos for racy new career move

Don't miss out on the headlines from Celebrity Life. Followed categories will be added to My News. Jeff Bezos' latest investment is a new lingerie line designed by Sydney Sweeney. The Emmy-nominated actress, known for her roles in the HBO series 'Euphoria' and 'The White Lotus,' has been working on a lingerie line that has received backing from Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sánchez, a source familiar with the matter told US Weekly. Sweeney was invited to the couple's June wedding in Venice, Italy. Sydney Sweeney is reportedly primed to launch a lingerie line, which has been backed by billionaire Jeff Bezos. Sweeney recently shared cryptic photos of herself in lingerie. 'This has been a huge project for her and something she's been working on for the last year,' the source said. Her brand, which will reportedly debut 'soon,' was backed by Ben Schwerin, a partner at private equity firm Coatue. The private equity firm recently launched a fund focused on investing in high-growth public and private tech companies. The family offices of Bezos and PC company founder Michael Dell have committed to provide $US1 billion of the initial capital for the fund, according to The Wall Street Journal. Sweeney is one of the most talked about Hollywood stars right now. A pitch deck seen by the Journal indicated the fund aims to invest between 20 to 50 per cent of its assets in private investments with the rest earmarked for public stocks. Bezos has already invested capital in several companies in the tech, healthcare, aerospace, finance and media industries. Sweeney attended the lavish Venice nuptials of Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos. Picture: AP Photo/Luca Bruno Most of those investments are made through his venture capital firm, Bezos Expeditions, and through Nash Holdings, which owns The Washington Post. Now, some of his funds will back the actress's first brand. During her rapid rise to fame, Sweeney has formed partnerships and become the brand ambassador for several major companies, including HeyDude footwear, Bai beverages, Laneige skincare and Kérastase haircare. Recently, she made headlines with a campaign for men's natural body wash brand Dr. Squatch, selling a limited-edition soap reportedly made with her own bathwater. Owner has faith teen rider can pull off miracle result in Grafton Cup in $101 outsider

Don't miss out on the headlines from Horse Racing. Followed categories will be added to My News. 'Fairytales don't happen unless you allow them to happen.' This is the creed that Pure Deal owner Peter Wood lives by and why he has placed his trust in teenager Bella Youngberry to ride the seven-year-old gelding in the $200,000 Listed Grafton Cup (2350m) on Thursday. • PUNT LIKE A PRO: Become a Racenet iQ member and get expert tips – with fully transparent return on investment statistics – from Racenet's team of professional punters at our Pro Tips section. SUBSCRIBE NOW! The 19-year-old Youngberry rode Pure Deal to a narrow victory in a diving finish at $61 odds in the Grafton Cup Prelude (2230m) on July 6 to book a spot in the main event, where the daughter of Queensland Channel 9 weather presenter Garry Youngberry is ready to step up again. The son of Dundeel is a $101 chance in the Grafton Cup but that won't stop Wood, Gold Coast hoop Youngberry and trainer Brett Bellamy from believing that fairytales can happen to them. Wood already has a Grafton Cup on his CV after Rednav saluted in the 2016 edition at $31 after winning the cup prelude the week before. • 'Took my breath away': How Angela Jones wowed Gai Waterhouse 'Bella has got good ability and I like to back the apprentices,' said Wood, who lives in the tiny village Coramba, just a 15-minute drive from Coffs Harbour racetrack. 'If you watch the way she rode that horse in the prelude, you couldn't knock the ride in any shape or form. 'I never even thought about whether or not to put her in the (Grafton) Cup. I simply said to her 'if you want the ride, it's yours'. 'She's got the horse happy and the horse goes for her. It responds to everything that she wants it to do.' Pure Deal's owner Peter Wood (centre) with his brother John (left) and son Daniel at Eagle Farm last September. The last five Grafton Cups have been won by Group 1-winning jockeys but Wood sees the glass as half-full, saying it's overdue for a lesser light to grab the spoils. Blake Shinn, with 31 Group 1s to his name, is undoubtedly the star hoop in Thursday's field and will ride $4.40 chance Belvedere Boys for trainer Matt Dunn. • 'No dodging Via Sistina': Gollan keeps focus on Cox Plate 'Just the ride itself for Bella and the experience is going to help her tenfold,' Wood said about Youngberry, who is in only her second season of riding. 'We need to let these apprentices experience what it's all about. They can't do it if they don't get the chance. 'There's absolutely no way I would have considered another jockey given the work that Bella has already put into the horse. 'You've got to weigh 54kg so that limits who you can get as well. In the end it wasn't a hard decision. She won't let us down, whether we win, lose or draw.' Bella Youngberry riding a winner at Cairns in September last year. Picture: Brendan Radke Wood paid just $1500 last month from an online Inglis Sale for Pure Deal, who raced across southeast Queensland from 2020 to 2022 for Brisbane trainer Bevan Laming before being sent to Victoria to compete, mainly in jumps and hurdles races. His previous race before the Grafton Cup Prelude was a 3400m hurdle event at Sandown Lakeside on June 1. • Childhood memories fuel Gibbons' Ramornie dream Wood said he was cashed up after winning his first Highway race as an owner when Lordster saluted over 1200m at Rosehill on July 5, and he took the $61 odds on offer for Pure Deal the following day in the cup prelude. 'He's been rejuvenated working on the beaches at Coffs Harbour,' Wood said. 'There's no reason not to run him on Thursday at Grafton. He's an outsider and you'd have to say it'll be a huge ask. 'But we've got a horse who's feeling good and he'll definitely run the distance.' This design secret takes premium pricing to the next level in luxury homes

Are staircases the new designer feature selling premium properties? According to a media release from Ray White, luxury residential builders are stepping up their game with this common, and often overlooked, feature of the home. Ray White Collective principal Brandon Wortley, said in the last few years there had been a "massive appetite" from buyers looking for something special in a home. "Cookie cutter homes are no longer cool," Mr Wortley said. "Staircases tend to sit quite centrally within a home and are the most looked at point - it's a type of art form, just like a sculpture." From a new build in Indooroopilly to an architecturally-designed home in Brighton, these are some of the properties with the most exceptional staircases on the market. A brand-new build in Indooroopilly This brand-new build in Indooroopilly features a sweeping curved staircase leading to an upper level. Designed by OH Architecture, the white sculptural staircase becomes an architectural feature in the home giving it a sense of grandeur and sophistication. A four-level wellness sanctuary in Brighton Designed by Martin Friedrich Architects, this Brighton home offers a complete wellness sanctuary over four levels. Sculptural and curved, the staircase is drenched in natural light as it provides both functionality and an eye-catching statement in the property. A modernist coastal home in North Bondi Over in North Bondi is this modernist home, which the listing states features "sweeping geometric curves, generous proportions and a seamless integration of indoor and outdoor living spaces". Designed by architect James Garvin, the property includes a sweeping steel staircase with oak timber steps. The standout staircase perfectly fits with the contemporary coastal look of the home. A lavish and dramatic home in Bellevue Hill Located in Bellevue Hill, this state-of-the-art home features a dramatic curved staircase leading to the upper floors. The staircase includes a combination of Arabescato white marble steps with a black marble feature wall behind it. Designed by BKH Architects, the staircase gives the home a theatrical and lavish feel. Modern elegance in Toorak Making an elegant and modern statement is this sculptural black steel curved staircase leading to a main bedroom. Designed by Cera Stribley, this Toorak home's staircase features oak timber steps and strip lighting to give the statement addition a dramatic and contemporary look. Sculptural luxury in Camp Hill In this Camp Hill home it's not the staircase itself that's the feature, but the surrounding interior elements. Spiralling upwards between rounded white brick walls and a statement circle skylight, this staircase becomes a point of focus in the home.
