BJP accuses Congress of misleading BCs with unconstitutional ordinance on reservations
Hyderabad: At a media conference held at the BJP Telangana State Office, BJP State General Secretary Kasam Venkateswarlu strongly criticized the Congress Party's stance on Backward Classes (BCs) reservation, accusing it of misleading the public and violating legal norms. Addressing the media on Wednesday, he alleged that the Congress Party had reached the 'peak of vile politics' in Telangana and was trying to manipulate BCs with false promises. He cited the Kamareddy Declaration, which claimed to offer 42 percent reservation for BCs in local bodies, and questioned its legal validity. 'The Congress is using Telangana as a political laboratory,' he said, adding that the ordinance issued lacked Assembly approval and legal backing. Referring to constitutional hurdles, Venkateswarlu reiterated that BJP State President Ramchander Rao, a legal expert, had clarified the implications of the 9th Schedule and emphasized that religious-based reservations are not permissible. He further warned that by allegedly allocating portions of BC quotas to Muslims, the ordinance would only deliver 32 percent actual reservation to BCs, calling it 'unconstitutional. He highlighted Congress's prior failure to fulfill reservation promises—including the Udaipur Declaration and caste census commitments in Karnataka—and criticized its lack of representation for BCs at the Chief Minister and Prime Minister levels. Calling for transparency, Venkateswarlu urged the Congress government to publicly release details of the caste census and clarify its legal strategy for implementing BC reservations. He stressed the need for a constitutionally sound law instead of pre-election ordinances, which he described as 'short-sighted appeasement tactics.' Venkateswarlu stated that the BJP has consistently worked to uplift Dalits, Bahujans, BCs, and middle-class communities—citing its central cabinet composition as proof of its inclusive governance. He reaffirmed the BJP's promise to appoint a BC Chief Minister if elected in Telangana and called on the people to hold Congress accountable to its guarantees.

BJP welcomes new members from Makthal ahead of local body polls
Hyderabad: A large number of leaders and activists from the Makthal Assembly constituency in Mahabubnagar district formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday, as part of a grassroots mobilisation effort ahead of the Panchayat Raj elections. BJP Telangana State President Ramchander Rao welcomed the new entrants by ceremonially presenting them with the party scarf, reinforcing the party's growing influence across regional strongholds. Addressing the occasion on Wednesday, Ramchander Rao stressed the importance of unity and hard work, saying, 'We should work with more enthusiasm to strengthen the party in the coming days.' He accused the Congress-led state government of misleading the public through misinformation and failing to resolve the issue of urea distribution, despite the Centre supplying 12.02 lakh metric tonnes against the required 9.5 lakh metric tonnes for Telangana's Rabi season. On the Urea Supply and State government allegations against the Centre, Rao highlighted administrative lapses that he claimed led to black marketing and artificial shortages, particularly in agricultural hubs like Makthal—dubbed the cotton seed bowl of the state. He blamed poor monitoring and mismanagement by the state agriculture department and alleged collusion between some Congress leaders and fertilizer dealers. Underscoring the party's strategy and commitments, he asserted that the BJP has a favourable atmosphere across the state. Rao urged party cadres from the ward to the ZPTC level to rally together in the coming elections. He reiterated the party's demand for 42 percent reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) and criticized Congress leaders for opposing it. Looking ahead to his July 24 visit to Mahabubnagar district, Rao called for complete unity among BJP workers—both new and seasoned—to instill public confidence and lead the party to electoral success in the upcoming assembly elections.

Ramchander Rao outlines vision for inclusive devpt in Telangana
Hyderabad: BJP Telangana State President N Ramchander Rao presented a comprehensive roadmap for balanced industrial development in Telangana while addressing a gathering at the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) on Wednesday. He stressed that Telangana's growth should not be concentrated in Hyderabad alone. Instead, it should be distributed across Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities to ensure equitable progress. Rao was reflecting on India's transformation since independence, noting that the country has transitioned from a recipient of foreign aid under programs like America's PL-480 to an exporter of high-quality agricultural products. 'Today, we are not just self-reliant but actively supporting other nations,' he said. He pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a 'developed India by 2047' is driving ambitious reforms and industrial expansion nationwide. Countering criticism that the BJP is a 'corporate government,' Rao argued that without corporate sector participation, industrial growth would be impossible. He highlighted how Indian professionals have flourished globally—in science, medicine, and business leadership roles in the United States, Africa, and the United Kingdom. However, such spirit has been lacking back at home for a long time. This issue needs to be probed and addressed properly, he added. To address this issue, he highlighted central government initiatives like Startup India, Standup India, and Make in India. Rao said these schemes, coupled with low-interest Mudra loans, are reshaping the entrepreneurial landscape. However, he flagged concerns that banks are falling short in loan disbursement and called for better oversight. 'The MSME sector offers the largest employment opportunities—it deserves robust support,' he emphasized. While Telangana's climate and resources are conducive to industrial growth around Hyderabad, Rao urged development to radiate across the state. Plans for a regional ring road and a circular rail network around Hyderabad were cited as key infrastructure projects that will support decentralization and reduce migration to urban centers. On employment, Rao urged youth to shift focus from government jobs to self-employment, echoing PM Modi's call to become 'job givers.' He named artificial intelligence, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, and cellphone manufacturing as sectors ripe with opportunity, enabled by supportive central policies. He cited the success of companies like Tata-Boeing as evidence of India's expanding industrial prowess. Rao also praised the Jan Dhan Yojana for universalizing bank access and enabling direct benefit transfers. 'Every rupee reaches citizens directly—no intermediaries, no cheques,' he said, contrasting it with earlier regimes where only a fraction of allocated funds reached beneficiaries. Rao also acknowledged existing challenges in industrial growth and welcomed suggestions from business leaders to refine policy. 'We are committed to taking your ideas to the Centre for constructive change,' he assured.
