Ireland rugby star Robbie Henshaw shares a tune while on stag do in Mayo pub

Henshaw (32) was on a stag party in Number 9 Doherty's bar and restaurant when he played a few tunes on the button accordion. The Athlone native and a group of other men had been in Westport before they arrived in the picturesque seaside village dressed as Fred Flintstone. A local source told the Irish Independent that the group had been in Westport on a stag weekend for a friend of Henshaw's who is engaged to Henshaw's sister. In a video posted on social media, Henshaw can be seen playing a 'The Redhaired Boy' while accompanied by another reveller on the tin whistle. The group were also filmed singing a rendition of Oasis' 'Don't Look Back In Anger'. The group spent a number of hours in the pub, where they sang and played tunes. The pub itself is renowned for traditional Irish music and will host The Young Wolfe Tones in the coming days. Henshaw, who has won 82 caps for Ireland and featured for the British and Irish Lions in 2017 and 2021, married his long-time girlfriend, Sophie Marren, last year. Hailing from a family steeped in music, Henshaw started learning the fiddle before taking up the button accordion in his youth.

Paul McGrath shares rare family pic to mark granddaughter's birthday as fans all make the same observation

An Irish celeb was among those bowled over by the fabulous photo THREE GENERATIONS Paul McGrath shares rare family pic to mark granddaughter's birthday as fans all make the same observation PAUL McGrath shared a sweet photo from his granddaughter's birthday - with fans noticing the striking similarity between him and his son Chris. The Irish footy legend has aged incredibly well given he's only a few months short of turning 66 and hitting the pensionable mark. Advertisement 2 McGrath in his pomp while starring at the 1994 World Cup in the US 2 The 65-year-old still looked fit as a fiddle while celebrating in Rosslare's Kelly's Resort Hotel Credit: @paulnumber5 The former Aston Villa and Manchester United defensive rock captioned it: "Celebrating my granddaughter Talia's 15th birthday." A common theme among the replies from his Instagram followers was how his appearance belies his advanced age. In slightly theatrical fashion, Keith asked: "Is that you on the left or right Paul?!" Another social media user extended that sentiment to include Talia. They gushed: "The resemblance is remarkable among the three of you, happy birthday young lady!" Advertisement Finally Maia Dunphy noted: "What a gorgeous photo!! Your son is the image of you!!" The two clubs the centre-back hero is most associated with are actually currently mired in one of the summer's most layered transfer sagas. Villa's star striker Ollie Watkins is ready to step into the void if Man Utd are unable to lure Benjamin Sesko to the club. Newcastle have launched a £78m bid to try to beat United to the Slovenia international, with RB Leipzig now keen to do business with the Toon. Advertisement And there is growing scepticism in Germany that PSR-stricken Man Utd will come in with an offer to compete with Eddie Howe's side, who have the advantage of being able to attract a nine-figure fee for Alexander Isak. SunSport understands that following interest from Arsenal in January, Watkins feels the time is right to leave Villa Park. Fans slam 'utter woke nonsense' as Tottenham star announces bizarre kit number change And his wishes may overlap with Aston Villa's, who also face a battle to keep their summer spending within PSR limits. The Villans were fined by Uefa earlier this summer for breaching the European body's financial rules. Advertisement Unai Emery had been keen to sell the likes of Jacob Ramsey and Leon Bailey to meet the Premier League's requirements, but have yet to receive the interest they had hoped for. As a result, a bid of between £40m and £50m could be enough to prize Watkins from Villa. BONUS OF THE BUY This would also have the bonus of giving United funds to spare to solve their other major problem position - holding midfield. But a move for Watkins is not inevitable if Man Utd are unable to attract Sesko. Advertisement SunSport understands that Ruben Amorim is looking at two strikers playing in his home country of Portugal. Samu Aghehowa scored 27 goals for Porto last season after agreeing a deal with Chelsea which fell through over an ankle injury and image rights. And Benfica's Vangelis Pavlidis, who scored 30 goals last term, made a name for himself in England by scoring twice at Wembley as Greece nabbed a shock 2-1 win against the Three Lions. Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano claims that Juventus have offered Dusan Vlahovic to United if the Red Devils are unable to sign Sesko.
