Poodle sports pink accents and (right) Neil, Nicole, and their 2-year-old Golden Retriever display their matching shirts. (Sanjay Maru/CTV News Windsor) The Dog Days of Summer event is coming back to Downtown Windsor on Sunday. The event, held by the Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association (DWBIA) and Dog Training with Kb. Dogs and their humans can gather at Senator Croll Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., free of charge. The event will feature entertainment, demonstrations, food trucks, vendors, and dog-friendly fun, supporting the Windsor-Essex Humane Society and the St. John Ambulance Dog Therapy Program. Dog-friendly fun includes dog-designed demos, splash pools, treats and accessories, a $7 Rally Obedience Competition, showing off your pup's skills to judges and the audience, and a dog fashion show. 'The downtown core is always full of energy, but there's something extra special when you add dogs to the mix,' said Chris MacLeod, chair of the DWBIA. 'This event is about creating joyful experiences, supporting great causes, and giving people another reason to come downtown and connect.' Kb Singh, a local dog trainer, said this is about community building for everyone involved. 'Windsor-Essex loves its dogs, so an event like this is a great reminder of how strong the bond is between us and our pets,' said Singh. 'It's an event for our most loyal companions and our fiercest allies.' A free pet photo booth and appearances by the Windsor Police Service K9 Unit, giving scent detection demos, will also be present. More information on the downtown fun is available here.
