Jordon Hudson reportedly demanded content approval, partial ownership of UNC 'Hard Knocks' before NFL Films killed project
Shortly before NFL Films and HBO were set to announce the docuseries, Belichick's girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, demanded both content approval and partial ownership of the show, according to Katherine Rosman of The New York Times.
Rather than hand control of the long-running show to the 24-year-old Hudson, who has made no shortage of headlines this offseason at Belichick's side, NFL Films reportedly opted to pull the plug.
Producers reportedly learned after the fact Hudson was in negotiations with another production company, EverWonder, to make a similar series. Per its website, EverWonder has been involved in a number of sports projects, most notably the production of Netflix's Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight.
It had previously been reported Hudson played an instrumental role in killing the Tar Heel edition of "Hard Knocks," with one of the show's executive producers alluding to her demands to be heavily involved in the production of the series:
'The conversation took a turn we were not comfortable with.'
Not even NFL head coaches or general managers are granted final cut of "Hard Knocks" seasons covering their teams, as the show is ultimately controlled by the league itself. Belichick's inclusion would have been new ground for the series, but Hudson apparently wanted control over what would have been a very loud message about how his foray into college football is going.
That desire for control has turned into an unavoidable narrative over the past few months, most notably when Hudson stepped in to nix a CBS interview question about how she and Belichick met. Questions about her involvement in the UNC program have become loud enough the Tar Heels felt the need to release a statement confirming she is not a school employee, but she is welcome at their facilities.
And given the Times reported Hudson has told at least one person that she and Belichick are engaged, she may be in this for the long haul.
The other area the Times reported Hudson's involvement in Belichick's professional life is a number of trademark applications in his name. Literally.
Because the trademarks for the coach's well-known catchphrases, such as "No Days Off" and "Do Your Job," are all held by his old New England Patriots team, Hudson has reportedly attempted to pull a Taylor Swift and applied for trademarks reading 'No Days Off (Bill's Version),' and 'Do Your Job (Bill's Version).'
We'll see how that one works out.

UNC football flips 4-star class of 2026 recruit from SEC program
The Tar Heels earned a major football recruiting victory on Friday afternoon. The North Carolina Tar Heels, exactly a month away from the start of their highly-anticipated 2025 football season, continue to make positive impacts in their 2026 recruiting class. This time, UNC's latest addition involves stealing a talented recruit from a regional SEC program. On Friday afternoon, class of 2026 tight end Carson Sneed flipped his commitment from Tennessee to North Carolina. Sneed's flip now gives the Tar Heels 35 commitments in their next recruiting class, which ranks nationally and continues to grow. The 247Sports Composite rankings tab Sneed, a 4-star recruit, the 13th-ranked player from Tennessee, 18th-ranked tight end overall and 404th player nationally. Sneed is following in the footsteps of his older brother, Dayton, who transferred to North Carolina in April – from the Volunteers. UNC currently lacks a true number one tight end on its roster, but former Texas A&M transfer Jake Johnson is poised to be the top 2025 guy in Chapel Hill. Outside of Johnson, collegiate experience drops off, but Arkansas transfer Shamar Easter was amongst the 2023 recruiting class' top-ranked players. Currently a 2-way player at Donelson Christian Academy in Nashville, Sneed is coming off a junior season in which he caught 33 passes, adding 409 yards and six touchdowns. On defense, Sneed recorded 44 tackles, 10 TFLs, three sacks and an interception. With Bill Belichick now leading the Tar Heels, recruits want to play in Chapel Hill. Remember when North Carolina flipped a previous 4-star recruit from an SEC program (hint, he now plays for the New England Patriots)? UNC standout wide receiver excited about new role in Jackonsville Jaguars' offense
The Washington Commanders were arguably the NFL's greatest surprise during the 2024-2025 season, winning two tough road playoff games en route to the NFC Championship. Washington marched into Tampa Bay and beat the Buccaneers, 23-20, on a last-second field goal in the Wild Card Round. A week later, the Commanders dispatched the top-seeded Detroit Lions, 45-31, advancing to play the Philadelphia Eagles. What you may not know about Washington's success last season, though, is that former Tar Heel Dyami Brown played a major role in it. Brown caught a career-high 30 passes, which included a touchdown and a career-best 308 yards, but he broke out in the postseason with 229 additional yards and another score. Now a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Brown recently spoke about his excitement playing in a young, loaded wide receiver room that includes Travis Hunter and Brian Thomas Jr. "At the end of the day, we want to come in and find our identity of who we are and who we're going to be," Brown told ESPN's Michael DiRocco. "And I think with the offense that we have and the players that we have, we can make a lot of things happen. We know we all do the exact same thing and it's kind of hard to guard three people that can necessarily do the same thing and then be explosive at the same time." Brown and his new teammates will first take the field on Saturday, August 9 against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Jacksonville. Here's to hoping Brown, one of the best receivers in recent memory at North Carolina, has a breakout year in Duval County. College-Bound Bill Belichick Throws Shade at NFL Players
After 29 years as an NFL head coach, Bill Belichick is headed back to college, where he'll be the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels. While this is a program known far more for its basketball prowess than football, no one is more proven as a leader than coach Belichick. Yet, this is still a new territory for the future Hall of Famer, as he's never coached in the college ranks before. Already proven in the NFL, what makes him think he can have just as much success in college? While he's yet to coach a single game at the college level, Belichick is already a big fan of one aspect of his new job. Specifically, he likes how coachable college football athletes are, in comparison to NFL players. 'There are fewer bad habits to break… and players are much more receptive to the coaching.' Bill Belichick on college compared to NFL On some levels, it makes a lot of sense for college athletes to be far more receptive to the coaching they're receiving. After all, if they want to make it to the pros, they'll need to sharpen their skill set as much as possible. Yet, in that same sense, it's a bit odd that some NFL players aren't more receptive to receiving coaching, especially from what should be the best coaches in the game. Even more so, it's even odder that some wouldn't want to gain as much knowledge as possible from Belichick, who some dub as the greatest coach of all time. Either way, let's hope all the athletes who have a chance to learn from Belichick at UNC take his advice this time around. Who knows? They might even end up with a championship ring or two on their hands.
