DeepFest: A Platform Gathering AI Leaders at LEAP 2025
Powered by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), the DeepFest event will see the participation of more than 150 speakers and over 120 exhibitors, with an expected turnout exceeding 50,000 visitors from around the world.
DeepFest will showcase the latest AI innovations and technological solutions, with the aim of discovering pioneering technologies, fostering connections, exchanging expertise, and building partnerships in the field of AI to advance innovation and strengthen cooperation among experts across various fields. Furthermore, SDAIA will take part in several events and dialogue sessions at LEAP 2025 to discuss innovation in Saudi Arabia's future economy.

Moreover, SDAIA's pavilion at LEAP 2025 will display its latest AI-driven initiatives and projects, including Tawakkalna app, which significantly contributed to enhancing the quality of digital life in Saudi Arabia; and EYENAI (my eyes), an advanced medical solution that harnesses AI for detecting diabetic retinopathy.

Eastern Province unveils Global Village Project with up to SAR 650M investments
The Eastern Province Municipality announced the 'Global Village Project", a major investment initiative in collaboration with a Thai investor, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported. Spokesman Faisal Al-Zahrani said the project combines entertainment, tourism, culture, and commerce in a modern design, featuring 16 country-themed pavilions, each with a restaurant showcasing its national cuisine. The development will be built around a man-made lake, featuring a floating market and an open-air amphitheater with 7,000 seats, expandable to 10,000 for large events. Other attractions include a 17,000-square-meter (sqm) amusement park for all age groups, a large outdoor skating rink, global restaurants, and family-oriented activities, positioning the site as a key entertainment destination in the region. The project covers over 600,000 sqm of land and water, with phase one valued at SAR 200 million and total investment set to reach SAR 650 million, according to studies by the municipality and its investor partner.

Saudi Arabia, Syria Boost Energy Cooperation
Saudi Arabia and Syria have fostered their cooperation in the energy sector by signing a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Riyadh, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). On Sunday, the Saudi Energy Minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, met with his Syrian counterpart, Mohammad Al-Bashir, in Riyadh. During their meeting, the two ministers explored avenues for bilateral cooperation in various energy fields. They also discussed ways to bolster their ties in petroleum supply, electricity, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and investment opportunities. Furthermore, both ministers discussed how to leverage the Kingdom's expertise in developing projects, policies and regulations in the energy sector to support Syria's development efforts. Following the meeting, the Saudi and Syrian Energy Ministers signed an MoU in the energy sector aimed at promoting cooperation in the fields of petroleum oil, gas, petrochemicals, electricity, power interconnection, and renewable energy. The meeting came on the heels of the Saudi-Syrian Investment Forum, which took place in Damascus on July 24, 2025, with the participation of more than 20 government entities and over 100 leading private companies from Saudi Arabia.
