Far-Right Influencer Denounces Trump Over Epstein: 'Liberals Were Right'

Newsweek4 days ago
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources.
Far-right influencer Nick Fuentes, who is no stranger to controversy, has turned on President Donald Trump after the latter attacked his own supporters for their continued interest in the Jeffrey Epstein files.
Newsweek reached out to the White House via email outside of normal business hours on Thursday evening.
Why It Matters
Epstein, a sex offender, died in a New York City jail in 2019 while awaiting sex trafficking charges. The disgraced financier had well-documented connections to powerful figures, and his death has long prompted numerous conspiracy theories.
Rumors of a "client list" have long circulated online, and during Trump's successful bid for reelection in 2024, he suggested that if voters returned him to the White House, he would release a list of individuals associated with Epstein.
Trump's FBI and Department of Justice last week released a memo that found "no incriminating 'client list'" in relation to Epstein, and Trump has urged his supporters to move on and celebrate the many wins he scored in the first six months of his second administration.
His supporters continued to call for the release of files related to the Epstein investigation, and then grew critical of how Trump and his administration have handled the issue. In a lengthy message posted on Truth Social earlier this week, Trump went on to hit back at MAGA voters, saying they have "bought into this ... hook, line, and sinker," calling them "weaklings," and then insisting, "I don't want their support anymore!"

What To Know
During Wednesday night's episode of the America First podcast, Fuentes responded to Trump's post, sharing a number of four-lettered words for the president, starting off with a strong: "F*** you. You suck."
"You are fat, you are a joke, you are stupid, you are not funny, you are not as smart as you think you are," Fuentes said, later adding, "This entire thing has been a scam."
"When we look back on the history of populism in America, we are going to look back on the MAGA movement as the biggest scam in history," Fuentes said. "And the liberals were right. The MAGA supporters were had. They were."
"When we look back in history, we will see Trump as a scam artist who served as a vehicle for this rather than the other way around. We were not the vehicle for Trump, Trump was the vehicle for all of us," Fuentes added.
Fuentes has faced backlash for multiple controversial comments, like when he said "your body, my choice" while celebrating Trump's 2024 victory on election night. His address leaked online shortly afterward amid the backlash.
The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has described Fuentes as a "white nationalist livestreamer who advocates pulling the Republican Party further to the extreme far-right" and an "admirer of fascists." He has made repeated antisemitic and racist remarks and has been banned from several social media platforms.
He was previously a supporter of Trump and was a vocal ally during the "Stop the Steal" movement following Trump's loss to Biden in 2020. He also famously dined with Trump and Kanye West in 2022 at Mar-a-Lago.
However, he ultimately did not endorse Trump in 2024 and criticized the MAGA movement as "a cult," saying the movement had "gone too far" and is "Frankenstein's monster" that has become "a problem."
What People Are Saying
Trump on Wednesday in a Truth Social post: "The Radical Left Democrats have hit pay dirt, again! Just like with the FAKE and fully discredited Steele Dossier, the lying 51 "Intelligence" Agents, the Laptop from Hell, which the Dems swore had come from Russia (No, it came from Hunter Biden's bathroom!), and even the Russia, Russia, Russia Scam itself, a totally fake and made up story used in order to hide Crooked Hillary Clinton's big loss in the 2016 Presidential Election, these Scams and Hoaxes are all the Democrats are good at - It's all they have - They are no good at governing, no good at policy, and no good at picking winning candidates.
"Also, unlike Republicans, they stick together like glue. Their new SCAM is what we will forever call the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax, and my PAST supporters have bought into this "bull****," hook, line, and sinker. They haven't learned their lesson, and probably never will, even after being conned by the Lunatic Left for 8 long years. I have had more success in 6 months than perhaps any President in our Country's history, and all these people want to talk about, with strong prodding by the Fake News and the success starved Dems, is the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax.
"Let these weaklings continue forward and do the Democrats work, don't even think about talking of our incredible and unprecedented success, because I don't want their support anymore! Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

House speaker says there will be no votes on releasing Epstein files before August recess

The House of Representatives will not move forward with any legislative efforts aimed at releasing files related to notorious pedophile Jeffrey Epstein before its monthlong August recess, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said Monday. 'No,' Johnson responded when asked by CNN reporter Manu Raju if lawmakers would vote on a resolution calling for the public disclosure of documents related to Epstein's case before the lower chamber takes its annual summer break. Johnson indicated that he and Trump are on the same page regarding the Epstein files. Getty Images The House speaker argued that Congress needs to give the Trump administration 'space' to handle the hot-button issue on its own for the time being. 'There is no daylight between the House Republicans, the House and the president on maximum transparency,' Johnson said. '[President Trump] has said that he wants all the credible files relating to Epstein to be released. He's asked the attorney general to request the grand jury files of the court. All of that is in process right now.' 'My belief is we need the administration to have the space to do what it is doing.' Johnson indicated that 'if further congressional action is necessary or appropriate,' the House 'will look at that.' 'I don't think we're at that point right now, because we agree with the president,' he added. Last week, the Republican-controlled House Rules Committee voted to advance a nonbinding resolution calling for the release of some information related to the Epstein case. Some MAGA supporters have expressed outrage with the president's handling of files related to Epstein. REUTERS The resolution, which carries no legal weight, directs Attorney General Pam Bondi to publish 'all credible' documents, communications and metadata related to the federal government's investigation of Epstein and his convicted sex-trafficking accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell. The resolution cleared the rules committee as part of a deal with GOP lawmakers who initially opposed Trump's rescissions bill. On the same day the resolution was approved by the panel, Trump ordered Bondi to request that the grand jury transcripts in the Epstein case be unsealed. Bondi asked the federal court in the Southern District of New York the following day to unseal the grand jury testimony related to the 2019 federal sex trafficking case against Epstein and Maxwell.

Dartmouth President Sian Beilock accused of cowardice for staying neutral as Trump targets elite schools

The president of Dartmouth is winning praise from conservatives, while her critics in academia accuse her of cowardice and conformity for her stance on viewpoint diversity. A piece from the New Yorker details the embattled president, Sian Beilock, vowing to uphold institutional neutrality amid the federal government's feud with higher education and rampant antisemitism on college campuses. Advertisement Dartmouth declined to join a coalition of over 600 universities, including its Ivy League counterparts, in signing a letter in defense of Harvard University as it fights the Trump administration's attempts to freeze billions in funding. In an email to the Dartmouth community explaining her decision not to join the coalition, Beilock reportedly wrote that 'receivership, censorship, and external pressures about what can and cannot be taught or studied hamper the free exchange of ideas on our campus and across institutions. Dartmouth will never relent on these values.' 7 A piece from the New Yorker details the embattled president vowing to uphold institutional neutrality amid the federal government's feud with higher education. 'This is Trump's classic playbook: divide and conquer.' 'Everyone is entitled to their opinion,' Beilock told the New Yorker when asked her about the criticism she has received for her decisions. 'People ask, 'Why aren't you suing Trump like Harvard?' Well, [the Administration hasn't] made those kinds of demands.' 7 Dartmouth declined to join a coalition of over 600 universities in signing a letter in defense of Harvard University as it fights the Trump administration's attempts to freeze billions in funding. Beilock created 'brave spaces,' a subversive play on the common phrase 'safe spaces.' Advertisement Building upon that sentiment, Beilock launched 'Dartmouth Dialogues' to facilitate free speech and debate. Bloomberg via Getty Images The New Yorker reported further that 'Beilock clashed with Wesleyan's president, Michael Roth, over her adherence to what he called 'a new form of conformism.' Roth went on, 'As a heterodox person, and as a Jew, I'm very suspicious when my compatriots find a new religion, be it viewpoint diversity or be it institutional neutrality.'' Beilock's handling of campus protests in the wake of the Gaza conflict was condemned by students and faculty members. After police clashed with Dartmouth affiliates in a protest in May 2024 where an encampment was constructed, Beilock defended the actions of the police, adding that the encampments were a violation of the school's policy and that their presence was necessary to prevent further violence. 7 Beilock maintains that the university's position is 'saving the idea of the university,' the New Yorker noted. Kudos to Dartmouth! I heard Jewish student applications are way up!' 'I like my president,' Jeff Immelt, the former CEO of GE, reportedly wrote on LinkedIn. Beilock did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
