GoFundMe set up for Renee Carla after horror Central Highlands crash
Shaun Ranger and his children Baylee, 7, and Chandler, 6, were killed in the two-vehicle crash on Sunday that happened just before 10.50am on the Capricorn Highway between Comet and Blackwater.
'Initial investigations indicate a Holden Commodore travelling towards Blackwater with four occupants struck a Toyota HiLux utility containing two occupants travelling in the opposite direction,' the police said.
'The driver, a 28-year-old man, six-year-old boy, seven-year-old girl and 32-year-old man died as a result of the crash.'
The occupants of the HiLux also suffered injuries in the crash.
Paramedics took a 28-year-old man to hospital in a serious but stable condition and flew a 27-year-old man to Brisbane for treatment for life-threatening injuries.
Family friend Chantel Semple has set up a fundraiser for Renee Carla, the mother to Baylee and Chandler and Mr Ranger's fiancee, with the money to help the devastated mum and two-year-old Saphora.
'It is with broken hearts that we share the loss of my dear friend's two beautiful babies and their loving and devoted father today in a devastating car accident,' she said.
'Shaun, Baylee and Chandler were cherished and loved by many and brought so much joy and light into our lives.
'Baylee, aged 7, had a cheeky smile, bubbly personality and a love for horses.
'Chandler, aged 6, was a sweet and kind-hearted little boy, full of life and loved the outdoors.
'Shaun a dedicated and selfless father, supportive friend and loving partner.'
Ms Semple said the family's friends were 'heartbroken' over the unexpected loss.
'I hope to relieve the extra stress and heartache that this family already have to endure by raising much-needed funds to cover costs for funeral expenses and support Renee and little Saphora,' she said.
As of Monday morning, $17,180 has been raised from a $26,000 target.
Investigations into the incident are continuing.
The police are expected to provide further updates on Monday.
The weekend proved a catastrophe for the state's road toll, with six people killed across Saturday and Sunday.

Four injured as citizens pursue man through Sydney hardware store in wild chase
Dramatic footage has emerged of a wild chase through the streets of Western Sydney that began with a crash tackle in an attempted citizen's arrest, and involved a hacksaw, butcher's knife and an allegedly stolen hire truck, before ending in heavy morning traffic on the motorway. The ordeal began at a petrol station in Austral on Monday where CCTV captured two locals - dressed in black in the vision above - closely trailing a 51-year-old man dressed in blue. They're seen walking slowly until the man in blue approaches a corner and legs it away from the others. The two locals give chase and one of them manages to tackle the man in blue to the ground in the carpark of a nearby Mitre 10. He isn't able to restrain the man for long, however, and he is seen entering the hardware store. Inside, the man in blue allegedly used a hacksaw to injure two employees and one of the locals who had been pursing him from the start. According to 9News, the locals had been following the man as they suspected him of stealing from businesses in the area. One of the locals, who was allegedly sliced across his ear, is again seen on CCTV when he exits the Mitre 10 and is handed a large knife from the butcher shop at the other end of the carpark. The knife was not used however, as the 51-year-old used the intervening time to escape out the rear exit of the Mitre 10 and allegedly steal a hire truck. According to police, a third hardware store employee was crushed between two trucks when the vehicle was allegedly stolen. That employee was treated by paramedics and taken to Liverpool Hospital. Police were informed of the alleged theft and picked up the pursuit after officers sighted the truck at about 8.50am and followed it onto the M4 Motorway. The Mitre 10 truck was also fitted with a GPS tracker, making the man's movements easy to follow. In the end, heavy traffic proved to be the man's downfall and he was arrested and taken to Blacktown Police Station.

Loving father Paul Leslie Matts, 37, dies suddenly while playing with his children on holiday
A family's seaside holiday has ended in heartbreak after a devoted father died suddenly. Police officer Paul Leslie Matts, 37, suffered a fatal medical episode on July 8 while playing with his children on the beach. He is survived by his wife, Danni, their children Harlow and eight-month-old Xavier, as well as his stepchildren Archer and Jasmine. A sergeant with the NSW Police, Mr Matts had served the force for more than 16 years and was previously stationed in Coffs Harbour. Close family friends Jenna McAtamney and Sarah Wilkinson described the loss as devastating. They have launched a GoFundMe page to support his wife and children, who are now 'facing life without their loving dad and stepdad.' 'This loss has left the family devastated and in need of support as they begin to navigate this new reality,' the fundraising page reads. Mr Matts is also mourned by his parents, David and Julie, and his sisters Catherine and Rebecca. During his career, Mr Matts also served as the local officer in the small town of Burren Junction. In 2020, local MP Roy Butler publicly thanked him in parliament for organising a community fun day. 'To repay Burren for being so welcoming, Paul organised a family fun day for the town,' Butler said. 'He moved heaven and earth to put on an afternoon and evening of entertainment – from slip 'n' slides, a visit from Santa, and a raffle for a family holiday. The purpose of the event was twofold: to say thank you and to help people take their minds off the drought. On behalf of Burren Junction, thank you.' McAtamney and Wilkinson said Mr Matts was a 'great father' who 'will be very missed by his children.' They added that Danni is doing everything she can to stay strong for the family but cannot do it alone as she adjusts to the loss and the financial challenges it brings. Friends and loved ones have expressed their grief on social media. 'A beautiful soul gone way too soon. RIP buddy,' one wrote. 'So sorry for your loss David and Julie, thinking of you both,' another shared. 'Thinking of you Julie, David and family, sending my deepest condolences,' a third commented. 'So very sad to see someone so young pass away. RIP,' another added.

At least 16 killed as Bangladesh fighter jet crashes into school
At least 16 people, mostly students, were killed Monday when a training aircraft of the Bangladesh Air Force crashed into a school campus in the capital Dhaka, the government said. More than 100 people were also injured in the accident, with at least 83 undergoing treatment in several hospitals, the office of interim leader Muhammad Yunus said. The Chinese-made F-7 BJI aircraft took off at 1:06 pm (0706 GMT) and crashed soon after at the Milestone School and College campus. An AFP photographer at the scene saw fire and rescue officials taking away the injured students on stretchers. Yunus expressed "deep grief and sorrow" over the incident in a post on X. "The loss suffered by the Air Force, the students, parents, teachers, and staff of Milestone School and College, as well as others affected by this accident, is irreparable," he said.
