Blackpink teases ‘Deadline' world tour with Western-inspired trailer (VIDEO)
KUALA LUMPUR, June 26 — K‑pop sensation Blackpink released an official trailer for their upcoming 'Deadline' world tour via their X account today.
The 28-second video, posted on the group's official X account and other social media platforms today, offers a cinematic glimpse of what fans can expect from the new tour.
The trailer opens in a desert where member Rosé is seen using a payphone before cutting to scenes of all four members — Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé — driving through empty highways dressed in Western-inspired outfits.
This marks the group's first major collective announcement since their Born Pink tour concluded in 2023 and reinforces their growing media presence.
Fans have taken to social media to speculate on setlists and tour concepts, highlighting the strong anticipation surrounding their return.
As Blackpink gears up to kick off 'Deadline,' the K‑pop quartet continues to balance global stardom with ongoing individual pursuits.
'This is just the beginning,' said YG Entertainment in a statement, according to Korea JoongAng Daily.
'Everyone involved went all-in to make this a world-class show.'
The trailer, shot on location in Lancaster, California and at a Hollywood studio, was created with the support of a renowned international production team, the group's agency added.
The 'Deadline' world tour will begin on July 5 at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium in Goyang, Gyeonggi.
Blackpink will perform 31 shows across 16 cities, including major stops in Los Angeles, Paris, Bangkok and Tokyo.
The group is also set to debut a new single — their first in nearly three years — during the kickoff concert in Goyang.

LOS ANGELES, June 29 — Netflix's Kpop Demon Hunters is still topping Netflix charts in various countries but what's impressive is that the music from the show is also gaining traction on actual music charts. Yesterday, the songs from the soundtrack were the highest charting K-pop songs on the Global Spotify chart. Most streamed — the song Golden by the fictional girl group Huntrix with 3.45 million streams, followed by rival group Saja Boys' Your Idol at 3.01 million. Both songs also debuted on South Korea's YouTube Music chart at no.14 and no.13 respectively and also charted on South Korea's music streaming services Bugs, Genie and Flo. Of the top eight K-pop songs on the Global Spotify chart, all were from the show's soundtrack with just one exception: Aespa's new single Dirty Work. SEOUL, June 28 —There has been a lot of online speculation as to which K-pop idol specifically inspired the K-pop idol groups Huntrix and Saja Boys in Netflix's KPop Demon Hunters. The show has proven to be quite a hit, with a very warm reception from K-pop fans. Unfortunately, if there's one thing fans are a little too good at is starting conflicts between fandoms, so it's not surprising that writer and director of the show Maggie Kang decided to clear the air in a post on X. 'Rumi was inspired by many leading ladies, some not even K-Pop. Names are going around (individual idols + groups) bc we only said 'yes' as they were mentioned by interviewer to us but list of inspo for both Huntr/x & Saja Boys is endless. This has been clarified by us to press,' Kang said. She said it in a post quoting an X account stating that the character Rumi of Huntrix was reportedly inspired by Blackpink's Jennie. Rumi was inspired by many leading ladies, some not even K-Pop. Names are going around (individual idols + groups) bc we only said 'yes' as they were mentioned by interviewer to us but list of inspo for both Huntr/x & Saja Boys is endless. Right now Netflix is already selling merchandise from the show and has even opened preorders for a plush version of the blue tiger Derpy.
