
Woman trapped in Kota Kinabalu collision

Kota Kinabalu: A minibus collided with a Proton Persona early Thursday at the Jalan Kepayan flyover near the Kota Kinabalu International Airport, trapping a 28-year-old woman inside the car. Emergency services were alerted at 7.52am where firemen arrived five minutes later and freed the woman who was then rushed to the hospital with injuries.
Advertisement The male driver of the Proton Persona, aged 30, and the male driver of the minibus, aged 56, both escaped unscathed. The operation involved 14 personnel and included units from the Fire and Rescue Department, Ministry of Health, and police. By 8.09am, the scene was secured and traffic began to clear. Russia says it destroys 55 Ukrainian drones overnight, one person injured
(Reuters) -One person was injured as a result of Ukraine's overnight drone attack on the city of Yelets in Russia's southwestern region of Lipetsk, regional governor Igor Artamonov said early on Tuesday. "A UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) crashed in an industrial zone. One person was injured and is receiving all necessary medical assistance," Artamonov said on the Telegram messaging app.

Small crocodile, big shock for Sandakan resident

SANDAKAN: A resident of the Sim-Sim Low-Cost Housing Scheme was shocked to discover a juvenile crocodile hiding beneath their home on Sunday evening. According to Captain (PA) Sulaiman Salama, Officer of the Sandakan District Civil Defence Force, an emergency call was received via the MERS 999 line at 6:47pm. Advertisement Seven personnel were immediately deployed to the scene using a Revo operations vehicle and an ambulance. The team arrived at the location by 7:12pm and successfully captured the 15kg crocodile within 25 minutes using specialised equipment. 'The crocodile's eyes were covered with a blanket, and its body securely tied with rope as a safety measure throughout the capture process,' he said. No injuries were reported during the incident, and the operation concluded at 8:19pm. The crocodile will be handed over to the Wildlife Department (JHL) for further action.
