Woman survives Keningau car blaze

The Proton Persona reportedly skidded and struck a street lamp before catching fire, with about 60 per cent of the vehicle damaged. Advertisement The victim managed to exit the car safely before firefighters from the Keningau Fire and Rescue Station arrived at 2.55am, about three minutes after receiving the emergency call via Mers999. Elderly man killed, two injured in car-lorry crash on East-West Highway
IPOH: A tragic accident on the Gerik-Jeli East-West Highway today claimed the life of an elderly man and left two others injured after their car collided with a 10-tonne lorry. The incident occurred near the Banjaran Titiwangsa Rest and Service Area (R&R). The Perak Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 1.02 pm, prompting immediate deployment of a fire engine from the Gerik Fire and Rescue Station. The team arrived at the scene, approximately 70 kilometres away, by 2.11 pm. Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, assistant director of operations for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department, confirmed the fatality. 'The deceased, a man in his 70s, was pinned in the front passenger side of a Proton Persona car. The driver and rear passenger sustained minor injuries,' he said in a statement. The injured victims were transported to Gerik Hospital for treatment, while the body of the deceased was handed over to the police for further investigation. Authorities have yet to release details on the cause of the crash.

Woman trapped in Kota Kinabalu collision

Kota Kinabalu: A minibus collided with a Proton Persona early Thursday at the Jalan Kepayan flyover near the Kota Kinabalu International Airport, trapping a 28-year-old woman inside the car. Emergency services were alerted at 7.52am where firemen arrived five minutes later and freed the woman who was then rushed to the hospital with injuries. Advertisement The male driver of the Proton Persona, aged 30, and the male driver of the minibus, aged 56, both escaped unscathed. The operation involved 14 personnel and included units from the Fire and Rescue Department, Ministry of Health, and police. By 8.09am, the scene was secured and traffic began to clear. Father killed, daughter hurt in crash after university pickup
LIPIS: A father died and his 19-year-old daughter was injured when their car crashed into a road divider and plunged into a roadside drain while returning home after he picked her up from university. The tragedy happened at Km30 of the Lingkaran Tengah Utama Expressway near Kampung Chegar Perah, Merapoh, yesterday. The daughter who sustained minor injuries is studying in Kuala Lumpur. Lipis police chief Superintendent Ismail Man said the 56-year-old deceased, Mohd Ruzi Mohd Yusof, from Kampung Lalang Pepayu, Tanah Merah, Kelantan, was driving a Proton Persona when the accident occurred. "The father had picked up his daughter in Kuala Lumpur and was on his way back to their hometown in Tanah Merah. Initial investigations revealed the driver lost control of the vehicle, which then crashed into the road divider and veered into a drain on the left side of the road. "Ruzi died on the spot. The case is being investigated for reckless or dangerous driving," he said in a statement today. Ismail urged anyone who witnessed the accident or has relevant information to come forward to assist in the investigation. Caption: 1. Out-of-control Persona hits parked vehicles in Senawang
SEREMBAN: A technician was left counting his losses after two of his cars parked outside his home in Taman Bukit Seri Senawang were struck by an out-of-control vehicle early this morning. The 5.40am incident involved a Toyota Vios, a Perodua Myvi and a Proton Persona. District deputy police chief Superintendent Muhd Amrul Yazid Anuar said the Seremban traffic complaint counter received information about the crash at 8.48am. "Preliminary investigations found that the Proton Persona, driven by a 22-year-old man, was coming from the direction of a factory. "The man was on his way home in the same neighbourhood when he is believed to have lost control of the vehicle while avoiding an oncoming car," he said when contacted. Amrul said the out-of-control vehicle rammed into the two parked cars belonging to the resident. "All individuals involved have lodged police reports regarding the incident. The case is being investigated under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 (LN 166/59)," he added.
