City finished the season in the same position with interim manager Nick Cushing — 17 points off Chelsea — one point shy of third and qualifying for Champions League football despite finishing with a five-game unbeaten run.
Jeglertz said in a statement after his appointment was confirmed: 'Manchester City is one of the biggest clubs in the world. There is so much talent in this group. One of my key things is to continue the job that's been done and take it to the next level.
'We would like to win, develop players and want the players every day to become better. I will do everything I can to take this to the next level and make sure we can play attractive and winning football.'
Manchester City Women director of football Therese Sjogran, said: 'Andree brings a wealth of experience at the top of the game as well as a real hunger to drive Manchester City forward.
'Andree really impressed us with his attitude and ambition, and the way he sees the game aligns perfectly with our own vision.'
Jeglertz, who was appointed by Denmark in 2023, has a 22-year-long managerial career and won the UEFA Women's Cup in 2004 with a Umea side that included Brazil legend Marta.
As well as success with Umea in his nbative Sweden, Jeglertz has also taken charge of the Djurgardens men's team and the Finnish women's national side.
His will be replaced as Denmark head coach by Jakob Michelsen.

How new Barcelona signing has ‘surprised' the club's coaching staff
New Barcelona signing Roony Bardghji has left the club's coaching staff pleasantly surprised in pre-season training to date. That's according to , who have on Saturday provided an insight into the situation. Youngster Bardghji of course completed his long-awaited move to Catalunya's capital earlier this month. Ahead of the expiration of his prior Copenhagen terms later this year, Deco and co. agreed to fork over a minimal fee to land the highly-regarded winger. Bardghji, in turn, has since gone on to link up with Barcelona's star-studded squad in preparations for the new season at The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. The 19-year-old was also afforded a call-up for the club's pre-season tour of Asia, ahead of a potential debut appearance against Vissel Kobe on Sunday. And as alluded to above, Bardghji, along the way, has made a thoroughly positive first impression. As per a report from Sport: 'Club sources say his ability to think and act quickly has been one of the surprises of the first training sessions: 'There's still a long way to go and time will tell if it's a success, but for now he's been surprising. The training sessions aren't particularly complex, but it's pleasing because he thinks and acts quickly and that's something unusual for newcomers,' the club says.' Conor Laird – GSFN
