Former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has predicted the career paths Christian Horner could choose outside of Formula One after his sudden ousting from the Red Bull Racing F1 team.
Horner spent 20 years with Red Bull, celebrating six constructors' championships and eight drivers' titles. Red Bull parted ways with him with immediate effect on Wednesday, but the reason for his exit hasn't been revealed.
Clarkson, famous for his work on Amazon Prime's The Grand Tour and Clarkson's Farm, opened up about a similar situation he had been in when the BBC dismissed him for punching Top Gear producer Oisin Tymon.
Clarkson began his column in The Sun by pointing out how Horner's ousting had been linked to an incident last year when he was accused by a female colleague of inappropriate behavior, despite Red Bull clearing him of any wrongdoing after an internal investigation. He wrote:

"'How come,' they wailed, 'he got away scot-free after sexting a colleague, but has now been fired because Red Bull isn't winning as much as it used to?'"
The former Top Gear producer then presented his arguments. He continued:
"Couple of things on that argument. Number one. After those texts were leaked, Red Bull had two inquiries. Horner was grilled for hours.
"And it was decided that he had no case to answer. So he couldn't very well be sacked for an offence he hadn't committed.
"And number two, we don't actually know why he was fired. Yes, it's possible his bosses showed him the door because the team wasn't performing.
"The fact is that Horner took Red Bull from absolutely nothing to a team that won six constructor's championships, eight drivers' championships and 124 race wins."
Clarkson opened up about the text he sent Horner, revealing that he had been in a similar situation in the past. He wrote:
"I sent him a text after the news of his dismissal broke, pointing out that I've been in his shoes in the past.
"I explained that when you wake the following morning, it's easy to think, 'Well, that's that, then'.
The big question is, where does Horner go next? Clarkson ruled out F1 teams such as Alpine and Ferrari, given their links with Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton. He explained:
"But where? The clever money is saying he'll go to Alpine. But next year they will have Mercedes engines. Which means Christian would have to work with Silver Arrows boss Toto Wolff.
"And as those two really don't get on, I can't see that happening. Ferrari? Possibly, but that would mean upping sticks and moving to Italy. And dealing with Sir Hamilton."
Clarkson, however, mentioned other names that would be eager to sign Horner. He added:
"Audi is coming into the sport next year, and Cadillac. And there's talk the Chinese are making F1 noises.
"And all of them would jump at the chance of getting Horner."
Following his exit from the BBC, Clarkson continued his romance with cars and later became a full-time farmer, a line of work in which he had zero experience. The 65-year-old presenter wrote that Horner could similarly pursue a career outside of F1. He continued:
"The thing is, though, that as I proved after the Beeb let me go, you don't necessarily have to do what you were doing before. I became a farmer.
"So on that basis, Christian Horner might re-emerge in a couple of years as an astronaut, or in an ice-cream van or as a Foreign Secretary."
Predicting Red Bull's fate, he concluded:
"And Red Bull?
"Well, look what happened to Man United when Ferguson was no longer at the helm.
"On that basis, this once-great team may well end up, in a couple of years, in Formula 4."

Jeremy Clarkon's F1 Critique Resurfaces Amid Verstappen Russell Battles

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. After making appearances on the Formula 1 grid, former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson's remarks about the state of the sport resurfaced. The reality TV star is no stranger to making bold claims about F1. He is an avid watcher and fan of the racing series. Clarkson appeared on the grid at the British Grand Prix, where he seemed excited for the race, though a couple of months ago, he had given a controversial opinion about the sport. "I've had an idea to make F1 racing more consistently exciting. Don't use tracks where overtaking is difficult," he posted to X back in April. More Photo by"That F1 race this morning gave me an idea of what it might be like to watch cricket," he added in another post. While always following the sport, Clarkson did take a break from attending races mainly due to the problems that modern F1 has with the other drivers' dirty air. In a 2019 YouTube video, the car enthusiast listed his problems with F1. "I mean, I'd rather watch these [flowers] grow than watch a Formula 1 race," Clarkson said. "Get rid of the stewards. Dangerous driving is what the fans want. So if somebody does dangerous driving, I'd give them an extra five championship points. "The cars have to be stronger. They have to be able to withstand, you know, wheel-to-wheel action without bits of front wing coming off. "I want to see [Gilles] Villeneuve and [Rene] Arnoux wheel-to-wheel on the last lap of the French Grand Prix, and if Ferrari don't like that they can f**k off. "In fact, Mercedes can f**k off. They can all f**k off. Let's turn it into a proper sport again and not some health and safety exercise." Clarkson returned to the sport at the beginning of the 2023 season and attended the Bahrain Grand Prix. Clarkson's comments regarding physical racing come during a time when Red Bull driver Max Verstappen has been in the news for his aggressive driving. At the Spanish GP, the Dutch driver collided with Mercedes' George Russell after getting frustrated. While seemingly getting ready to give Russell the place, Verstappen crashed into the side of the Briton's car. Verstappen's approach to racing should appeal to Clarkson, and since the Red Bull driver is falling down the order, there could be potential for altercations. Sergio Perez to Drive For Cadillac in 2026: Report

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Former Red Bull driver Sergio Perez is reportedly inching closer to landing a seat on the Formula 1 grid. Perez is currently on the sidelines after getting axed from the second Red Bull seat, though he is apparently nearing a deal with the new Cadillac F1 team. According to rumors and reports, he is getting courted by Cadillac and Alpine, though the 11th team set to debut next season leads the race for his signature. Ed Spencer of Auto Evolution and the reputable German outlet Auto Motor und Sport are both reporting that the announcement is pending and the deal is done. 10th placed qualifier Sergio Perez of Mexico and Oracle Red Bull Racing talks to the media in the Paddock after qualifying ahead of the F1 Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi at Yas Marina Circuit on... 10th placed qualifier Sergio Perez of Mexico and Oracle Red Bull Racing talks to the media in the Paddock after qualifying ahead of the F1 Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi at Yas Marina Circuit on December 07, 2024 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. More Photo byHowever, there is still no official word or confirmation on the signing. The American-based team is currently focused on getting the 2026 car developed as a new engine formula enters the sport for the first time in years. They spent millions on staff and facilities to make the team a success, but the team is only now prioritizing driver signings. Team principal Graeme Lowdon spoke about the team's process in picking a driver and their patient approach compared to other teams. "We're out of sync with the other teams, which kind of makes it easier," Lowdon told The Race. "It means we can spend a bit more time understanding the attributes that a particular driver can bring and measuring them against what we need. "Normally, you're in a competitive environment, sometimes you can't take long to make a decision, because someone will go to another team. "When we're not in that position, there's a good list of very, very capable drivers that we can interact with and put a team together with. So we're lucky from that one point of view." Who is in the running for the second Cadillac F1 seat? Assuming Perez does get the team's first seat, the second spot on the team is an open field. Among the names in the running are Mick Schumacher, Valtteri Bottas, Jack Doohan, Franco Colapinto, and Zhou Guanyu. The team is prioritizing an experienced pair of hands who can provide specific feedback on the car's requirements. Bottas' name is recurring in the rumor mill for a seat at Cadillac, though he is also getting intense interest from Alpine. Cadillac's slow approach means it will be a while until the full lineup is confirmed. For more F1 news, head on over to Newsweek Sports.

Are Jessica Alba and Danny Ramirez Dating?

It seems like a new celebrity couple is popping up on every corner of the internet these days. See: Megan Thee Stallion and Klay Thompson's soft-launch saga, or Raye and Lewis Hamilton's rumored F1 romance. And, per pics obtained by TMZ, the latest A-listers in the rumor mill are newly-single Jessica Alba and Top Gun star Danny Ramirez. According to the outlet, the pair was spotted boarding a plane in Cancún on July 13, 'where they had spent time together,' to fly back to L.A. Neither of their reps has confirmed anything about the nature of their relationship since TMZ's report dropped, but an insider recently revealed to People that the Honest Company founder isn't dating anyone seriously. 'She's been getting a lot of attention since the divorce. She's flattered and definitely enjoying being single again,' the source told the outlet. 'She's gone on some dates, but it's nothing serious—she's focused on herself and her kids. She's not interested in a relationship right now.' In May, a separate source told Us Weekly that Jessica 'has gone on dates, but she isn't seeing anyone specific right now.' They added, 'She's having a lot of fun going out with her girlfriends and being more spontaneous. She's embracing all the attention she's getting.' Back in February, Jessica filed for divorce from her ex, Cash Warren, after 16 years of marriage7. According to a Los Angeles County court filing obtained by People, they cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split. Jessica also requested that her legal name be restored, filing for joint custody of their children.
