Man charged in 2023 Atlanta slaying, second suspect still sought
Atlanta police said they've arrested a man in connection with a 2023 fatal shooting, but they are still looking for a second suspect.
Blain Stafford was charged Tuesday with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, Atlanta PD reported.

Stafford was already in custody at Fulton County Jail on an unrelated charge.
The arrest is in connection with the fatal shooting of Julian Kolb, 20, at 1376 Allegheny St. SW on Feb. 17, 2023, police said.
Police found Kolb with apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say they are also seeking a second man, Jyquez Harvey, in connection with Kolb's slaying.
Warrants for Harvey, 20, were issued in March 2023 for felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, the Atlanta PD says.
Harvey is listed on the Atlanta PD's most wanted, and authorities are offering a reward of up to $2,000 for his arrest.

Shipbuilding hall named after 'pioneering' female electrician opens
A giant new shipbuilding hall named after a pioneering female electrician has officially opened on the River Clyde in Glasgow. The Janet Harvey Hall in Govan is big enough for two Type 26 anti-submarine warships to be built side-by-side. Ms Harvey, who worked in the Clyde shipyards from the age of 18, was one of a handful of women alongside a 100,000-strong male workforce in World War Two. The new facility is part of a £300m modernisation at BAE Systems in Glasgow. The first vessel HMS Glasgow entered the water in December 2022. HMS Belfast and HMS Birmingham are currently being built in the new hall. It measures 170m (558ft) long and 80m (262ft) wide, with two 100-tonne cranes and two more 20-tonne cranes inside. It will allow warships to be built fully undercover in Glasgow for the first time and reduce the time between ship deliveries. Simon Lister, Managing Director of BAE Systems' naval ships business, said: "The Janet Harvey Hall marks a major step forward for shipbuilding in Glasgow and will help enable efficient and safe shipbuilding for decades to come. "It's a symbol of pride, not just for our skilled workforce who bring these ships to life, but for the entire city." Janet Harvey's nieces joined Glasgow's Lord Provost to cut the ribbon on the facility. Ms Harvey died on Armistice Day in 2023 at the age of 101. Fayette man pleads guilty to burning wife's body, burying her in backyard
A Fayette County man has been sentenced after he pleaded guilty to murdering his wife last year. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] On Monday, Kenneth Hardin Jr. was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder of his wife, Carrie Hardin. Deputies were first made aware of the crime after they got a phone call from a home on Merlin Court on August 21, 2024. Kenneth Hardin's father called 911 and deputies went to the couple's home on Merlin Court, where they found evidence that matched his statements. The sheriff's office told Channel 2 Action News that Kenneth Hardin confessed to his father that he'd killed his wife in self-defense the day before, burned her body and was leaving town. In the house, deputies found signs of blood and attempts to cover up a crime scene. Sheriff Barry Babb said it appeared that Carrie Hardin died from gunshot wounds. 'While nothing can bring Carrie Hardin back to her sons, I am proud of the efforts by law enforcement and my office to bring some measure of justice to her family and dignity to her legacy,' said District Attorney Marie Broder.
