Man Utd star's 'marriage over' as ace 'sick of model wife's spiritual lifestyle'
Manchester United's Matthijs De Ligt is reportedly parting ways with wife AnneKee Molenaar, just a year after they got married. The 25 year-old defender married the gorgeous Dutch model last summer in an intimate ceremony.
His transfer to Old Trafford from Bayern Munich and the Netherlands' journey to the Euro 2024 semi-finals both occurred last summer too, meaning the couple were planning to celebrate their nuptials this month with a grand party in Italy, surrounded by friends and family.
However, according to Dutch outlet DenD, the party was abruptly cancelled. It's claimed that De Ligt has jetted off to Barbados without AnneKee, 25, after spending last week alone in Ibiza.
A source close to the pair has, it's claimed, stated that their marriage is over.
"Initially, there was talk of 'some time for themselves' and holidaying separately, but it is now reportedly definitely over," DenD reported, via Realityfbi. "Matthijs is said to have travelled to Ibiza alone this week and was in Barbados for this."
According to Realityfbi, De Ligt is said to have grown increasingly bothered by his wife's spiritual lifestyle. "Apparently, Matthijs can no longer handle Annekee's exaggerated 'spiriwiri-content'", the channel reported last week.
The model's Instagram is a treasure trove of bizarre posts, including one with an alien spaceship emoji caption, snaps of her browsing for gemstones and crystals, delving into tarot fortune-telling books, and donning a top emblazoned with a cannabis symbol.
She also has her own "Alchemia" page and business. "Alchemia" is the Italian and Polish word for alchemy, the ancient chemical practice focused on transmuting base metals into gold and discovering the elixir of life.
AnneKee's Instagram still showcases photos of De Ligt, yet it's been seven weeks since the United centre-back last featured in her social media updates, following a date night they shared.
The couple's romance sparked in Amsterdam as the towering 6ft 2in defender was cutting his teeth with Ajax, but it wasn't until 2023 that he popped the question. Their wedding was timed around the Champions League final, which saw the groom dash that evening to join the Netherlands squad for Euro 2024 that very evening.
"It's actually funny because the way the planning for our civil wedding went is a reflection of our relationship in general," AnneKee once quipped to Dutch Vogue.
"At first, we planned to get married at the end of May, on our anniversary, but then it looked like Matthijs would make it to the Champions League final with Bayern Munich. So, we had to reschedule everything at the last moment."

Justin Bieber appears to have dismissed rumours about his marriage to Hailey Bieber with a simple message. The relationship between the 31-year-old singer and his 28-year-old wife has been subject to plenty of speculation and reports in recent weeks with rumours of a breakup. However, Justin looks to have shrugged off any suggestion of a split with a four-word post on Instagram. Justin shared a series of sunset snaps with his wife on Sunday as they relaxed on a balcony together. Although Hailey's face could only be partially be seen in the photos – one them just showed the back of her head – Justin was clear in the caption. He wrote: 'My forever n always.' Justin and Hailey first met in 2009 and started dating six years later, and the rekindled their one/off romance in 2018 following his split from Selena Gomez. Full extent of Jamal Musiala injury as Bayern Munich star gets layoff prognosis
Bayern Munich and Germany star Jamal Musiala picked up a sickening injury during his side's Club World Cup clash with Paris Saint-Germain and looks set to be sidelined for an extended period Jamal Musiala will miss the majority of next season after suffering a horrific leg break. The Bayern Munich star was involved in a brutal collision with Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma in the Club World Cup. It was immediately clear that the 22-year-old had picked up a serious injury as was stretched off the pitch in agony. And having put him through testing for the issue, Bayern have revealed how long Musiala will be out for. A statement from the German giants confirmed that the midfielder had 'sustained a fracture of the fibula associated with a broken and dislocated ankle' and had flown back to Munich ahead of corrective surgery. "This serious injury and the long absence are a real shock for Jamal and all of us. This hits FC Bayern hard," Bayern's sporting director Max Eberl added. "Everyone knows how immensely important Jamal is for our game and what a central role he plays for our team. Furthermore, the human impact is incredibly bitter; we all feel for him: Jamal has just recovered from an injury and will now be out for another long period. "He will get everything he needs from us. We will support him intensively and be by his side, and we are already looking forward to him being back on the pitch." Bayern icon Manuel Neuer was critical of Donnarumma for his reaction after being involved in the incident. He said: "You just accept that your opponent might get injured. It could even be a team-mate. "So I went over to him and said: 'Don't you want' - because it was half-time anyway - 'don't you want to go over there? Jamal is lying there, he'll probably stay in the hospital, he has a serious injury, and I think it's only right to go over there out of respect and wish him well and just say a little sorry.' Who will win the Club World Cup? Share your thoughts in the comments below "After that, he went over to Jamal. Fairness is always important, and I would have reacted differently." Musiala's injury comes after a stunning season for Bayern. He had scored 21 goals and notched eight assists in all competitions - a record that includes three goals at the Club World Cup. He might look to a fellow star at the tournament for a little bit of advice following a similar injury. Chelsea star Wesley Fofana sustained a horrendous leg break in 2021 when playing for Leicester. The Frenchman ended up being ruled out for around seven months, missing around 63 matches in all. ‘Big' Sam Young and partner Grace Chen are opening a Chinese restaurant in Potts Point
If you're not following chef-owner-restaurateur-lobster-enthusiast 'Big' Sam Young on Instagram, what have you been doing? The co-owner of Castlecrag's luxe bistro S'more – known for its top-quality produce, bougie offerings and truffle-on-everything energy – posts non-stop pictures of delicious food and private dinners at multi-million-dollar homes. He's also prolific when it comes to being a hustler, which comes from his lived experience of moving to Australia from Hong Kong at 13 – only to have everything, including his passport and money, stolen days later. Being an immigrant and working hard has shaped his ethos. Now, he and partner Grace Chen are opening their second venue dedicated to that journey: a Chinese restaurant called Young's Palace, opening this August in the excellent former home of Raja and Teddy on Kellett Street in Potts Point. 'We've been sold this outdated image of immigrant-run restaurants as cheap, fast and scrappy. That was survival. But now, we want to tell a new story – one that honours hard work but also values quality, creativity and pride,' Sam says, who has also spent time in the kitchens of Queen Chow and Lotus. Young's Palace is also inspired by the couple's travels – particularly the Chinatowns they've explored in cities like Paris, Amsterdam, New York, Vancouver and Sydney. 'Grace and I always find ourselves hunting down a plate of fried rice or chow mein, no matter where we are in the world. Young's Palace is about recreating that joy – classic Chinese dishes that are simple, comforting and utterly craveable,' says Sam. Sam says don't expect laminated menus with a hundred-plus options, fluorescent lighting or any compromise on quality for convenience. And absolutely no modern Asian-fusion. What you can expect, however, are two menus: one with nostalgic crowd favourites – think sweet and sour pork, honey king prawns, General Tao's chicken and lemon chicken – and the 'Chairman's Menu', which is BSY to a T: luxe dishes like lobster, giant mud crab and claypot abalone rice crowned with truffles and caviar. 'There's no reason a bowl of noodles can't be treated with the same respect and price tag as a plate of pasta. We're not here to follow rules. We're here to create something we're proud of,' adds Sam. See you there later this year!
