The Montreal was arguably one of the most underrated Italian sports cars of the 1970s based on looks alone. It was sculpted by iconic designer Marcello Gandini while working at
Bertone
, who, ironically, also created the Miura just a year earlier. The Montreal debuted in 1970, but it wasn't nearly as well-received as its counterparts. Production lasted just seven years, and collectors haven't thought much of it since.

These days, you can buy a drivable Alfa Romeo Montreal for a reasonable $60,000. Compare that to the Miura and Dino, which regularly go for six or seven figures at auction, and the Alfa is an absolute steal by comparison.
This particular one is an interesting example. Hidden away in a garage in Astoria, Oregon, it meets our definition of a "barn find"—or a "garage find" if you want to be more specific. It's a 1972 model with a rebuilt twin-cam V-8 and a five-speed manual. When new, the Montreal's 2.0-liter engine made 200 horsepower.
That's not to say it's perfect, though. The wheels are aftermarket, there's some obvious paint and body damage, and the original interior could probably use a deep clean—although, the cabin is still in surprisingly good shape.

The seller is asking $60,000 on
Craigslist
, and the car is fully drivable. Even at that price, though, it's a screaming deal. Still, you will need to source the original wheels and spend some money on bodywork. So, hopefully the seller is willing to knock a few bucks off the final asking price.
Either way, it's a beautiful and oft-forgotten piece of Italian motoring history.

INDYCAR Driver 'Happy to Not Get Hit' While Stuck in Blind Spot
In the closing laps of the Java House Grand Prix at Laguna Seca, INDYCAR driver Marcus Ericsson high-centered on the exit of turn six, lost control, and slid into the gravel and back onto the racing surface before stalling. He then sat there for several laps trying to get the race restarted while the course was under a local yellow in his sector. INDYCAR on Fox broadcaster James Hinchcliffe noted on the replay of Ericsson's crash that he was lucky to stop and not go further into the racing line to get collected by the full-speed traffic at the time of the incident. "So lucky to not continue going driver's left and be collected by another car," Hinchcliffe said. "That could've been much, much worse." The problem was that Ericsson was marooned, unable to start, sidelined on the asphalt as drivers continued, not seeing the No. 28 Andretti Global until they were within a few yards of it. The INDYCAR on Fox broadcast showed a portion of the course from Pato O'Ward's helmet cam, highlighting just how close the drivers were before Ericsson came into view. The full-course yellow was thrown after several laps, and the Andretti of Ericsson was brought back to the pits for a DNF with heavy damage to the floor of the race car. When Ericsson was first released from the race care center and asked if he thought the yellow was thrown late, he said he didn't know since he was too focused on getting his car going. "I don't know," Ericsson answered Fox Sports' Bob Pockrass, "I was just trying to get the car started again, that was my main focus." Following the race, Ericsson posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that he was happy to be safe following being stuck in a blind spot for multiple laps. "Happy to not get hit whilst sitting at a blind spot on the track for 3 laps..." Ericsson wrote. "Onto Portland." An overturned big rig leaking fuel on the 14 Freeway in Agua Dulce created a massive traffic backup on Sunday. The crash happened just before 5 p.m. on northbound lanes near the Agua Dulce Canyon Road offramp, according to the California Highway Patrol. It's unclear what caused the crash, but as of 8 p.m. there were no reports of arrests. No injuries were reported in the incident. The 23XI Racing driver, who drives the No. 23 Toyota, took home the checkered flag at the Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday afternoon. Wallace bested Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin, Ryan Preece and Brad Keselowski on way to his victory on Sunday. Wallace had a one-word reaction to his victory on Sunday, too: "Unbelievable!" It was Wallace's first win in 100 races. His last win came at the Kansas Speedway in 2022. But the streak ended on Sunday evening, taking home the win at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. We'll have to see if President Trump, who spent the weekend golfing in Scotland, has a comment on Bubba Wallace's victory on Sunday evening. It's probably unlikely. Wallace, after all, has previously made his opinion on President Trump extremely clear. He made his thoughts on President Trump attending the Daytona 500 earlier this year extremely clear. While other NASCAR drivers spoke out in support of President Trump, Wallace made it clear he wasn't a huge fan of it. The 23XI Racing driver said that he "couldn't care less." "We're here to race," Wallace said at the Daytona 500. "Not for the show." President Trump had previously called out Wallace following the garage noose incident in 2020. Wallace, meanwhile, chose the high road in response. "Always deal with the hate being thrown at you with LOVE!... Love should come naturally as people are TAUGHT to hate. Even when it's HATE from the POTUS," he said. While much of the sports world is congratulating Bubba Wallace on his win on Sunday evening, it's unlikely that he'll be receiving a message from the President of the United States.
