Komal Kumar takes on dual shades in Sangeetha Bar and Restaurant

Actor Komal Kumar is all set to appear before audiences in a brand-new avatar in Sangeetha Bar and Restaurant, a film that blends comedy, fantasy, and spiritual themes. Going by the recently released poster featuring the actor in a quirky Superman-inspired look, it is clear that the film will have an unconventional narrative. Directed by Sandesh Shetty Ajri, known for Kathale Kone, Inaamdaar, and Gumti, the film is produced by Vikas S Shetty under the Jyothi Productions banner. Sandesh has also written the story and screenplay. 'This is a story that runs across two timelines. Komal plays a modern-day Superman figure, but there's a deeper spiritual connection as well. He also portrays a failed filmmaker, and we explore his dual journey, comic in the first half, and subtly spiritual in the second. He even appears as an artist, like a painter,' Sandesh explains.

‘The Running Man' trailer: Glen Powell survives a game show in Edgar Wright's latest

Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for The Running Man, a new film adaptation of Stephen King's 1982 novel. Directed by Edgar Wright and starring Glen Powell, the film is scheduled to arrive in theatres on November 7. Set in a near-future society, The Running Man follows contestants in a state-run game show who must survive for 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins. Their efforts are broadcast to the public as part of a widely watched entertainment spectacle. Powell plays a father who enters the competition in hopes of securing a better future for his daughter. The film's screenplay was written by Wright and Michael Bacall. Unlike the 1987 adaptation starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Wright's version is expected to follow King's original narrative more closely, focusing on the novel's darker tone and commentary on media and violence. THE RUNNING MAN Catch me in theaters November 7th — Glen Powell (@glenpowell) July 1, 2025 Speaking at CinemaCon earlier this year, Powell said, 'I have never worked harder on a movie in my life,' referencing the physical demands of the role. Powell also noted that Schwarzenegger had given his 'full blessing' to the new adaptation. The cast includes William H. Macy, Lee Pace, Emilia Jones, Michael Cera, Daniel Ezra, Jayme Lawson, Colman Domingo, and Josh Brolin. The film is produced by Wright, Nira Park, and Simon Kinberg. Stephen King's novel, originally published under the pseudonym Richard Bachman, has long been recognised for its prescient take on media and surveillance culture. The new adaptation arrives amid renewed interest in dystopian stories and televised competition narratives. The Running Man marks a genre shift for Wright, best known for titles such as Baby Driver and Shaun of the Dead. Additional promotional material is expected ahead of the film's fall release.

Marvel finally debuts their most fan-favourite villain in the Ironheart finale

{Spoiler warning! This article contains a heavy spoiler for Marvel's Ironheart} Marvel's Ironheart introduces Mephisto, played by Sacha Baron Cohen.(Ironheart/Marvel/Disney) Marvel fans finally got what they've been waiting for. The devil himself, Mephisto, has officially arrived in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans have been anticipating since WandaVision premiered over four years ago, and now Mephisto, played by Sacha Baron Cohen, made his entrance at last. The sinister revealed his true identity to Riri Williams in the climax of Ironheart, offering her the same kind of mysterious deal he once gave to Parker Robbins a.k.a. The Hood (Anthony Ramos). When Entertainment Weekly pressed show creator Chinaka Hodge about finally including Mephisto, he said, 'That's a really great question,' and added, 'I wish I could answer it more plainly. It was not my decision alone. I was empowered by Marvel to make that decision... I don't know what will happen next with the character or with Sacha in the MCU. But as a fan, I'm really hoping to see him make lots of appearances.' 'I was surprised by the ending just as much as the audience will be,' she shared. 'I think it's a really fun payoff, and we're setting up Riri to make big, grown woman decisions in the MCU. I think our cliffhangers will excite our fans and allow them to dream around whatever doom might befall them.' 'She has already crossed some lines and figured she'll handle the consequences on the other side. So what exactly is the scope? What's the scale of those consequences? And does she continue to resist? Does she continue to do the right thing or does she lean into the other part of her?' Interestingly, in a mid-credits scene, Parker Robbins is seen back at Stanton's magic shop, now stripped of his magical hood. He meets Zelma (Reegan Aliyah) and asks for 'Supreme-like help.' 'I love this role and I'd love to have the opportunity to do more with him,' Ramos told EW. 'And to dive deeper into Parker and Mephisto's relationship and how his failure affects him.'
